[Q] Still no 4.4 OTA - Nexus 7 (2013) General

The 4.4 OTA update was released a few days ago. I still have not received the update on my 2013 Nexus 7. :crying: Google has always been known for updating their devices very quickly. That was one of the reasons I bought this tablet. Quick updates to the latest version of android. But I'm still on 4.3. Why am i not getting this update?

Don't worry your not the only one Actually most people have not gotten it yet either. I don't know one person that has and it was released about a week ago. Personally I don't think Google even released it. I think they just said that to shut people up. I'm sure its coming soon though...

factory image was released, why would you wait for the OTA?

Because factory image deletes everything. And why should anyone that is not an expert flash something that he doesn't have to?

T-Mobile Nexus S ics update

Anybody know any news about when it will be back up and if Google is working on 4.0.4?

Only Google knows.
Frankly I'm a little pissed since it looks like other devices are starting to see ICS updates (Asus prime) and we were supposed to be first after the galaxy nexus.
I'm not complaining since they did release all the files and source but if I wasn't rooted and unlocked I'd still be waiting.
If you where stock all you would have to do is name the official ota update.zip and flash it with stock recovery.

Thanks, but this I know. Google know that it's a problem with there Nexus S ota and I'm wondering if there's any news about when we will get ics back. It's been two months now and still no news

Installing custom roms is the reason why nobody's complaining and Google won't act.

Google will release it when it is ready.

Non rooted stock problem.

My wife's phone is fully stock, and I believe up to date with the latest ota. The last one she received was around a month ago but since then she's had a lot of trouble with reboots. I've done a factory restore hoping it would correct the problem but it didn't. Anyone have a similar problem PR maybe an idea for a fix??

If you're stock unrooted you could try going to VZW for warranty. Sounds like system may be messed up...
If you're adventurous, you could plug it in and run logcat and see what errors pop up before a reboot

Just bought a Nexus 4 and I got some questions!

Actually, I didn't just bought it. I originally bought 2 Nexus 4 at launch. One was for my dad and one is for me. I didn't opened mine until now, which is many months after launch.
I don't know which version of Android is on my phone, but I think it's probably 4.1. I know about the LTE hack and how it was disabled in 4.2. Now that Android 4.3 is out, how can I update to 4.3, but still keep LTE as an option? I prefer stock Android, but a friend is telling me to install Cyanogen Mod. Won't that require a root and is Cyanogen using Android 4.3 yet?
Anyways, my main priority is to update to Android 4.3 while keeping LTE if possible. How can I do that? Thanks!
Nexus 4 comes stock with 4.2. You can use LTE but you'll have to flash a zip file that will enable it. Yes I believe CM has a 4.3 build already.

Will I need to root my phone to enable it? I thought there's also some sort of key command to activate LTE?
Regardless, if I upgrade to Android 4.3 right now, is there a way to enable LTE or you don't recommend me to do any sort of updates until I have sort out the LTE issues? I'm just afraid that after upgrading to 4.3, I won't have any recourse to go back and get things right.

You will have to flash a custom recovery which isnt that hard. There are a lot of guides out there that will certainly help! Yesterday I came across this vid and he explains it very well!

No, it can not update without you knowing. You could however just have an older version, since they updated the 4.4 image in the past couple of days.

When "L" is officially released

Will you need to be on 4.4.4? Or can I go from 4.4.2 to L?

L hasn't been released yet and there's no ETA so no one outside of Google officially knows.

I know it hasn't been released yet just wondering if I have to do the other updates before getting the L version.

Again, we don't know yet. Unless you're talking about the L preview (which I'm assuming not because you said officially released). In which case that must be updated to using fastboot / flashable .zip and doesn't require you to be on the latest firmware.
Thanks for reply. I'm not interested in the beta and didn't like the ota update for 4.4.3 so I'm currently running 4.4.2.

Don't worry about that, even if Google decided to stop updating the 2012 Nexus 7, Cyanogenmod will always continue.
I think that we dont receive this update..there isnt the binary blobs preview
