Just wanted to let you guys know that I had to factory wipe via recovery the other night and my internal data was still intact and didn't loose stuff I have downloaded or game data. I've never used cwm on a Samsung before so I wasn't sure if this is one of its features but I'm glad it left the rest of the internal partition alone.
You can see below my go launcher and go sms folder are still there. Also my download folder still has stuff I downloaded prior to factory wipe.

The internal memory on the device is treated like and sd card. If u would like factory reset your phone.. Settings/ security/backup and reset, then select factory restore.

So doing it in settings will reformat the entire partition? I actually didn't want to reset the entire internal sd as I didn't want to lose what I had in there so for those rooted doing it via cwm is the way to go it looks like in my case. Just wanted to point that out.

Rooted with clockwork...... You can boot to clockwork and select mounts and storage..... There are multiple formating options.

- Boot into custom recovery.
- Wipe cache, dalvik
- Mount /system, /data, /preload. Format these partitions.
- Flash the rom you want.
By the way, what rom did you want to use? Did you follow the instructions given at the rom thread?
I have the same question...what should I do?

Hi,
Go into recovery/wipe
Choose:
full wipe before flashing new ROM.
This will wipe user data + format /system and /preload. SD card content is not affected
I'm using a Completely Stock Nexus 4. Not Rooted.
My phone suddenly started giving me the low memory warning, and I deleted stuff of about 500 mb, but still when I try to install an app, even very small ones, I get an error saying "could not be installed, free up some space and try again." After that, I got the 4.3 update, (dalvik cache is erased). The error is still showing. Please help.

This error doesn't just show up on stock it shows up on custom roms as well, It's basically telling u to delete a gig or more of apps. Sometimes a factory reset or full wipe is required to fix this issue

Try offloading pictures or videos. Also, if you have a custom recovery, try deleting extra nandroids.
My phone is completely stock, no root, no custom recovery. Yet. Please help, I don't want to factory reset!

8GB or 16GB Nexus 4?
thats how its supposed to be. the phone needs 500mb free in the sd storage, for caches and other files. itll give you that warning around 500mb.
I installed the Pacman ROM via TWRP; did a full wipe, delvik, etc... and for some reason upon reboot, I see an old wallpaper that I used to use. Where is that information coming from? Why didnt it install the default wallpaper from the new ROM? Its like the phone is remembering old settings. I thought the full wipe got rid of any hint of older files. No?>

Wrong place to post this.
Probably didn't wipe data in recovery. But wrong section indeed.

Carrier doesn't say sprint.
I tried loaded stock and custom roms. Don't work.

Restore your efs partition backup. I did the same got back all the sprint stuff after an efs restore provided u made a backup earlier.
Yeah I had a backup but it got deleted. I will try to find one I guess if it is possible to be extracted

Issue solved........ I had to first wipe everything using twrp recovery (under advance, checked all except sd-card) and I wiped 2 times. The went and did a factory reset 2 times. Then used Odin to reload the stock software and when it first booted up the sprint spark boot image wasn't there. So I let it go through and it failed the first attempt to activate. I tried a second time and it passed. After it passed then it rebooted and there it was. SPARK boot splash. I got excited lol. So now all is back. I can update profile and roaming list again now as well. Which those 2 were my main concern since the phone was showing me to be on Samsung network. That really bugged me. So that's the fix. You have to wipe everything, which I thought I did before, than install fresh stock rom from Sam mobile.

Try running an app that can analyze disk storage usage. From there you can find which files or folder is using up the space.

Thats the problem. Internal storage is empty. Can't save files unfortunately, will do a full wipe/format in twrp
Sent from my OnePlus 7 Pro using Tapatalk
Internal storage is corrupted, try reflashing firmware and also see if twrp or any custom recovery if it recognizes that there is something in the storage. Good luck!:good:
