- Boot into custom recovery.
- Wipe cache, dalvik
- Mount /system, /data, /preload. Format these partitions.
- Flash the rom you want.
By the way, what rom did you want to use? Did you follow the instructions given at the rom thread?

I have the same question...what should I do?

Hi,
Go into recovery/wipe
Choose:
full wipe before flashing new ROM.
This will wipe user data + format /system and /preload. SD card content is not affected

Resize the Cache partition for Odexing Rom!!

The partition info:
System:160 data:254 cache:34
If you are using a odex rom,the Cache partition is free at all!!
First, you must make a backup with Recovery.Down the attachments and Extract.....Enter the fastboot and connect your phone, open the SwiftBootloaderBuilder.exe
View attachment 746606
View attachment 746607
Don't change the other Options
You just click the Flash new button and hold on !!!Don't click the "OK" !
Copy appsboot_150_234_64.mbn to SwiftBootloaderBuilder\platform-tools and cover the old file,go back SwiftBootloaderBuilder.exe ,and you can click the "OK" now.

Looks like u don't understand the thread. OP is talking bout smaller cache size in odex rom. Not odexing the cache
How about just use cache2sd. There is a how-to in gt540 modding forum here

good job!
but i prefer 140mb for system, 34mb for cache and 274mb for data, can you do that?

CWM factory reset doesn't format internal partition

Just wanted to let you guys know that I had to factory wipe via recovery the other night and my internal data was still intact and didn't loose stuff I have downloaded or game data. I've never used cwm on a Samsung before so I wasn't sure if this is one of its features but I'm glad it left the rest of the internal partition alone.
You can see below my go launcher and go sms folder are still there. Also my download folder still has stuff I downloaded prior to factory wipe.

The internal memory on the device is treated like and sd card. If u would like factory reset your phone.. Settings/ security/backup and reset, then select factory restore.

So doing it in settings will reformat the entire partition? I actually didn't want to reset the entire internal sd as I didn't want to lose what I had in there so for those rooted doing it via cwm is the way to go it looks like in my case. Just wanted to point that out.

Rooted with clockwork...... You can boot to clockwork and select mounts and storage..... There are multiple formating options.

I installed Pacman ROM but for some reason, I still have an old wallpaper showing up.

I installed the Pacman ROM via TWRP; did a full wipe, delvik, etc... and for some reason upon reboot, I see an old wallpaper that I used to use. Where is that information coming from? Why didnt it install the default wallpaper from the new ROM? Its like the phone is remembering old settings. I thought the full wipe got rid of any hint of older files. No?>

The simply way is flash twrp and make a stock nand whitout rooted (included recovery) and restore it if you want upgrade.... Otherwise now you can flash twrp and flash full rom ota.... Think full rom working fine

No option to wipe cache and data in Androxyde Flashtool v0.9.23.2

I have unlocked the bootloader of my Sony Xperia L and have run into bootloop. To fix it, flashed an FTF using Flashtool twice. However, I am not getting the option to wipe cache and data. Don't know if that's why, my phone still runs into bootloop even after flashing. Any help is much appreciated.

I did. But I am not seeing the option for wiping cache and data in flashtool.
Don't use newest version of flashtool, Xperia l is old device. Use 9.18 or 9.15 version
