hope jeally bean comes fast to the s3. just installed it on my gnex and it hauls ass

Lots of great features in Jelly bean, I'm definitely looking forward to Google Now replacing S-Voice!

The new search intertests me the most, extra gpu work is great, but Google Now might turn into the killer mobile app. It looks sooooo useful, almost makes me wish the GS3 had a search button.

Gingerbread update pulled 'by Google,' needs a little more work

The Gingerbread build that made its way out to European Galaxy S handsets over the weekend has now been halted, on account of an unspecified issue that has been identified after release. Vodafone reports that it's Google who's actually responsible for temporarily suspending the Android 2.3 delivery over Kies, although the problem is apparently not universal -- Voda's Galaxy S devices are said to be unaffected, which is why the carrier's working hard to get things rolling again as soon as possible.

Maybe they are starting to solve the bugs that we have reported? (multitouch issue in primis)
Samsung Norway says: minor problem with camera.

that are google exclusive features which are only available on AOSP and Google devices like Nexus and Nexus S, you won't see this on HTC, LG,.......... so for sure not the issue.

Except on the HTC Desire HD (and probably other HTC devices) using CyanogenMod 7, that has that on/off animations as well.

Not in any STOCK fw in any phone has CRT-animation(except nexus phones).
As Samsung use the Hardware Id: "herring", which is actually reserved for the Nexus 2, that could be an issue. That also mean that Samsung use the base from Nexus 2 and modified it. Google could be a bit upset about this.
think they will fix the problem with the systembar crash. Factory Reset solves that problem, but they will certainly have it in order. mulitouch in maps I hope they will fix.
Maybe som of you have found more bugs?
I think the phone works much better with 2.3.3.
Battery consumption is much better!

Nope. They're plenty happy for Samsung to use their code as a base.
this may be the issue, whenever I enter the facebook mobile site, since 2.3.3 update it recognizes my phone as a nexus s, asking me to "download facebook for your Nexus S". So maybe samsung didnot port it appropriately.

who knows, it's either some bug we already discovered (I'm guessing Android System battery update drain whatever) or something that samsung did or did not do that was against some agreement or something

Cheap thread . Sources are out middle of July, Jelly's faster and spicked with more features than ICS. Shouldn't be hard for our devs to update, but it'll take several weeks till the sources are out.
Well in all seriousness, this "project butter" featured in 4.1 is looking very appealing to me. If this Jelly Bean OS all goes well, I might not have to buy a new phone for maybe another year?

Lol I'm not a feature lover.. I just want android to get consistently smooth.. It's annoying to get lag here and there and that's what I think Google needs to focus on.. Guess that's why they went Snapdragon on nexus 4.. So it's easier to work with a powerful base platform.. So in order to get a decent smoothness overall old devices like note 1 and similars won't be able to get to the next generation of Android KLP(or whatever it's the name)...
It's terribly annoying when you open the phone app and it will take ages to show up the calls registry... That's 1 example... So yeah smooth its the magic word here
I wonder if someone with a note 2 here could tell me if when they open a large call registry the screen stays black for several seconds...
