Some time ago I raised this problem in connection with my TyTN II and got no real response.
As exactly the same problem affects the Touch HD I thought I would ask again here.
If an email with an attachment is received from a POP3 mail server it is only possible to see the attachment if the email was sent in Text format. If the email was sent in HTML format the attachment although downloaded remains invisible.
Essentially if an email with an attachment is received via POP3 in Text Format then both the message and the attachment are received by the Touch HD and the attachment can be opened by clicking on the link in the message.
However, if the same email is sent in HTML Format the message and the attachment are again received by the TyTN but there is no link to the attachment in the message and it cannot be opened.
If the same emails are collected from Outlook via ActiveSync all the attachments are visible and can be opened irrespective of whether the email is in Text or HTML Format. Likewise if one uses an alternative mail program such as Flexmail the attachments can all be seen.
To make matters worse it seems as though the "hidden" attachments are saved with the message on the device itself rather than on the Storage card so could rapidly eat up the available memory.
I therefore wondered if anyone had found a solution to the problem.
Many thanks
Hey guys I've been having trouble with my email attachments. Last night I received to powerpoint presentations And mail would not display them or save them. My only option was to open and then it told me he could not display. So basically I couldn't do anything. I'm new to the droid so any help would be appreciated.

Do you have an app that can play a powerpoint like docs to go?
What email?
Try opening your email account through the browser rather than the email app if that is what you using.
My dad is having issues viewing attachments on his Gmail account on his Focus. I also have a Focus and can view email attachments fine (both for my university email and personal Yahoo! email). He's had issues with both PowerPoint files (.pps) and an Adobe Reader file. A strange thing about this is that when he forwarded the email to me to see if it would work, the attachment appeared just fine and I was able to download it.
Thanks for any answers.
as for the adobe attachment. Does he have the free adobe x reader app installed. Also, is he saving the attachements to his phone and then open them with appropriate program. Also, he might want to delete gmail account on phone and set it up again or go into settings gmail account and see if all settings are correct.
I've experienced something weird on my galaxy tab 2. I've gmail hotmail and corporate mail all hooked on it. I send and receive mails normally on all of them except for on thing: When I receive a mail sent from an iphone containing an attachment, I can see the attachment on the tab in the hotmai and gmail , but not on my corporate mail, although I can see attachments normally in my corporate mail on my tab when I get it from another device other than an iphone. The funny thing is that when I get a mail and I can't see the attachment, if I attempt to forward this mail, I c the attachment in the forward view.
Can anyone explain this?
My exchange email looses attachments. It's a bit confusing because some of the attachments are coming through and some are not. Even if I know that the email I received contains an attachment there is no visible symbol for it but at the same time keeps loading (probably the attachment itself). Eventually nothing happens.
Anybody else experiencing same issue?
I don't have this issue. Although the mail client shows attachment icon for some mails that contain images inline. Could this be the case for you?
No issues here with exchange 2007. But I experience a tiny problem with attachments in company's outlook clients and is that some times people who use osx and send mail to us that contains pdf then the attachment disappears from Outlook but if you connect to exchange with Web via \owa address the attachments are there.
Question is if you ever got attachments in a mobile no matter what OS from that specific exchange server?
