How to mount mmcblk0p4 (param partition)? - Galaxy S III General

Does anyone know how to mount the 'param' (mmcblk0p4) partition?
I want to look at how to change the boot logo.
Thanks.

Go and check in sgs 2 forums ...

Mounting specific partitions?

I know this has been asked a lot of times but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Even my own earlier post is somehow deleted (prolly as it was in the dev section)
So once more, please?
I want to mount the sd card boot partition on my NC running CM7 (sd card - verygreen's method) so that I can copy some zips to flash.
Thanks.

If sd install:
busybox mkdir /sdcard/boot (this is done the first time only)
busybox mount /dev/block/mmcblk1p1 /sdcard/boot
then put the zips you want on /sdcard/boot... they will go to the boot partition
if eMMC install change mmcblk1p1 above to mmcblk0p1

I want to mount specific partitons onto my NC, not PC.
e.g. when running emmc CM7, it doesn't mount all partitons of SD. I was asking a way to mount these "other" partitions.

Go to cwm then storage then mount system then format system. Then wipe data and cache. Then try to flash a rom or restore your backup. Is that works?

Unable to Format System
Hi
Sounds like you have cross-linked files on system partition... search xda for the "Pit" file to fix using Odin. Just load Odin as normal but add the pit file in the relevant field.

Have you tried flashing all the stock images? Try running the sh or bat file in the extracted directory.

Preload data

For older Samsung phone models, Samsung is locating system apps in preload data to have more memory in system.
Would like to see a developer using preload data in future builds to have more free space in system that results in better performance.
I don't see how having more free space in system could possibly result in better performance...

You are correct.
Moving apps to a /preload partition means that those apps need to be symbolically linked back to the /system partition. The phone will scan the /system partition when it boots up and then will follow the symlinks to the /preload partition.
It may not take a whole lot of time but it will actually take slightly longer to boot up.

What your displaying is formating sd card but your asking about fixing permissions the 2 have nothing to do with each other. So you will have to rethink what it is you are actually wanting.
