What your displaying is formating sd card but your asking about fixing permissions the 2 have nothing to do with each other. So you will have to rethink what it is you are actually wanting.

And my main problem is the reboots..

you partitioned using CWM which creates ext3 partition not ext4..
So you need to re-part your partition using Minitool to ext4..
Then factory reset and select ext4 for data in Indroid FSC app

nothing bad happens..
Its just the difference of filesystem
IF you want to use ext3 as data then using Indroid FSC app select ext3 as data
I followed the tutorial by Sir CarlDeanCatabay to increase the Internal Memory by partitioning SD Card using Mini-Tool Partition Wizard. I first made my 2nd Partition as EXT4(as Merruk 2.5 supports EXT4), but, Link2SD was unable to mount script. I tried with both EXT2 and EXT3, but, the same result came. I saw another external tutorial which said to make the 2nd Partition FAT32; I did, and Link2SD was able to mount. I installed some Apps and LWPs, and Link2SD said that it was link to the SD Card. When I looked upon the Storage Info in Link2SD Menu, I saw my 2nd Partition as same as it was at first, but, my Primary Android-SD(it was set as Active during partition) was filled with 35 MB out of my knowledge.. Isn't link2sd linking my apps to the 2nd Partition and instead doing so to SD Main? If so, what should I do? Thanks!
I think u must prefer cwm method....as it is easy and doesn't creates problem

Did you set your 2nd partition as primary?
Sent from my GT-S5360 using xda premium
yeah! I did set my 2nd partition as Primary and FAT32....since, Link2SD was unable to mount the EXTs...
I partitioned my 8gig sd card => 6.5(fat 32-prim) & 1.5(ext4-prim).
In Storage Menu under settings,it is showing available space as 0.00 B
Also whenever i reboot the phone, it gets back to default state.
Any help ?
P.S. I tried partitoning using CWM & PC both. Still the same results
did you Install a dataonext script?

Please re-format your ext4 partition to 1gb. As far as I know all those dataonext scripts using 1gb.
By the way:
I did the formatting of the partition for dataonext not over CWM. I used the program "Mini Partitioning Tool".
Just search the Internet, Google is you're friend

I hope you created the 1GB as primary and not logical. I made the same mistake some months ago
Please check the OT http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2224469 installation section.
Do it like he is descriping and flash the ROM again. Otherwise it seems to be a problem with your SD card. Cheers
For older Samsung phone models, Samsung is locating system apps in preload data to have more memory in system.
Would like to see a developer using preload data in future builds to have more free space in system that results in better performance.
I don't see how having more free space in system could possibly result in better performance...

You are correct.
Moving apps to a /preload partition means that those apps need to be symbolically linked back to the /system partition. The phone will scan the /system partition when it boots up and then will follow the symlinks to the /preload partition.
It may not take a whole lot of time but it will actually take slightly longer to boot up.

Hi,
i have two identical NC devices [ from the outside], but
here are the difference in the inside:
#first:
- internal storage for the apps that can't be unmounted have 0.9GB
- internal storage for the user data that can be unmounter/remounted have 5GB
#second:
- internal storage for the apps that can't be unmounted have 4.9GB
- internal storage for the user data that can be unmounter/remounted have 1GB
and i want to change #second NC internal storage to look/work as onthe #first
i read and tried this:
- changing from this
/devices/platform/omap/omap_hsmmc.0/mmc_host/mmc1 auto auto defaults voldmanaged=sdcard1:auto,noemulatedsd
/devices/platform/omap/omap_hsmmc.1/mmc_host/mmc0 auto vfat defaults voldmanaged=sdcard0:8,nonremovable
to this:
/devices/platform/omap/omap_hsmmc.0/mmc_host/mmc1 auto auto defaults voldmanaged=sdcard0:auto
/devices/platform/omap/omap_hsmmc.1/mmc_host/mmc0 auto auto defaults voldmanaged=sdcard1:8
Also fstab.encore are identical on both devices.
but does not helped.
Can anyone help with this or point to the right dirrection ?
Thanks
The issue is that BN changed the internal partitioning sizes for the newer Nook Colors. Dean Gibson developed a set of tools to repartition the newer nooks back to the original sizes if desired. See this thread:

You are using too new of a CWM it must be older than v6045. You can find one on my Nook Color Tips thread.

Managed to manually resize partitions.
Will try with older CWM, but is it possible to make .zip for newer CWM ?

No, it takes a little effort to change files and make sure they work. Not worth to me the extra effort when it can be flashed with the older CWM.

And can't mount in 'Mounts and...' - same error

Each device uses different partition structures so there is not an easy answer for this. And on top of that most newer devices do not use the DOS partition structure like the PC and the Nook Color does. Therefore fdisk will not work on them. They use a newer structure called GPT that is more robust than the DOS structure. And you must use the tool gdisk.
