Wrong section man...
Now the Hummingbirds can be as optimized as the Snapdragons are.
Yeah. saw the best buy ad today.. looks sweet. I'm sure people will bash it though because Sammy's name on it. Shame.

Yep, looks like the Vibrant's sister. She's hot!
Hopefully it'll be easy enough to port Gingerbread to the Vibrant.

Well, technically you are right, but as we do not have a section for this device just yet, and it does indeed look like the Vibrant... I guess we can let it be. Besides, it is in General...

It's already better than the Nexus One (ugly). This thing is svelte. I'm glad it still has the antenna bump because it's the reason why our reception is good. The Fascinate doesn't have this bump and it has some reception issues with losing service because of the smaller antenna.
- The speakerphone will rock
- SAMOLED
- Flash for those that need one
- LED Notification light for those that need one
- GPS is probably going to work out of the box
- Stock Android
- Good Reception, better than the Nexus One that's for certain
- PERFECT size
- Updates handled by Google
I don't think the Nexus S has super amoled, does it?
That phone is the reason that the Vibrant will probably never see Android 2.3 (or won't for another 6 months or so).
Unless the Nexus S is sporting a 1280x760 screen then its not worth considering if you already have a Vibrant

It's definitely worth it because of the update. I'm getting rid of the Vibrant once I get my hands on the S. Samsung needs to step up and support the damn updates.

The Nexus One has a lot of roms so maybe the Nexus S will have a ton too.
But a lot of devs are HTC fanboys too so idk
This is what I've been waiting for! I'm gonna need to upgrade my signature - a new Nexus is what I need in my life!
The Galaxy S has a S5PC110 (SGX540). The Nexus S has a S5PV210 (SGX535) (according to kernel). Meaning the Nexus S has a worse GPU than SGS.
Is this true?

Are you just going by model numbers or did you actually research these chipsets?

Someone is trolling me about that, so I'm asking, I did 0 research.
The Galaxy S GPS is worst than others GPS that I had (like the HTC Diamond o some bluetooth standalone)...
So maybe the 535 is better than 540...

GPU, not GPS.
Also found this, already a thread about it.

Maybe search before creating a new thread next time.
That's an old thread while this is a fresh news. It's a twitter message from "Keyan" @kmobs.

Old thread? it's a week old. plus I don't see any reference to twitter in the OP's post, so no idea what you are referring to.
The egl-cfg from nexus s dump says:
0 0 android
0 1 POWERVR_SGX540_120

It's just that, a RUMOR. Look at Doc's post. You guys feed into rumors way too much
You can't believe everything that random people post on Twitter

A couple things to keep in mind regarding the Nexus S gpu. The naming in the kernel could be wrong. For example, the Mytouch 4g is a 7x30 with an adreno 200 according to its libs and its boardconfig. The Nexus S's defconfig for its kernel says pv210, but the libs says sgx540. So.. I may have been incorrect in my original assumption and they are doing trickery with the naming just like HTC did. Carry on.

Only one way to find out. Quadrant the vibrant and nexus s side by side and check the fps.
All's well that ends well
already told but heres the original
update
all good!
Just to make you'll feel cozy and happy about the GPU.

Hello Everyone,
I keep seeing people posting about their N7 being a C70 or a C90.
Are they referrencing a serial number on the box or something?
What do I need to look for to make sure I get a new one?
It seems most of the issues people have reported were on earlier units that were available.
Where do I look on the package and what does the serial number look like?
Thank you for your help
Countless threads on this now, sorry to be harsh but been at least 5 threads on what to loom for in the past 2 days, just scroll through a page or 2

Yes its the the N7 Serial Number batch.
It's in the beginning of your serial number and it's just your build number. Every build seemed to have the same defects tho, none were faultless.
And it's Basil.
ithing the number after the C corresponds to the month
C6-June
C7-July
and so on

Well that's just ideal, be sure to press down on the left side and hold it horizontal, watching for lift.
And yes, I got it. That's why I said it's Basil

Ok, I have to correct myself on this one.
I went to Costco to look around and they only have a Samsung 7 inch tablet not the Nexus 7.
And the boxes of them they have sitting out are just empty boxes, basically for display purposes.
I was way wrong on that one.

ok dumb question- how do you see these C** codes? I went into About Tablet-->Status--> Serial number says 01.....there are some letters in it but not a single "C". Is it on the box? If so I will have to wait until I get home. This is a brand new 32GB that I just picked up yesterday at Staples.

Or, if you haven't already removed the sticker from your N7, it's located near the speaker grill on the back of your tablet.

I assume A comes after 9 maybe? I was wondering what they'd do after C9
I purchased this phone used on craigslist so maybe this is why the guy wanted to make a deal, but it also leaves me without a RMA option
Anyway about 80% of the pictures I take have these rainbow spots on them, they show up as soon as its taken.
Any ideas?

It's an OEM Key that is strictly for Dell.
If you tried to activate it on anything but that exact unit it wouldn't.

What's Nexus 5?
I'm not in the same situation b/c Note 3 is very very too expensive for the moment.
No way to pay 700€ for a phone.....
If I have to make a choice I take Nexus 5 of course! I won't be disappointed with a Nexus.
