Hi Guys,
atm the Google I/O is running. My question is, wether Jelly Bean will be available for the HTC HD2?
Thanks and sorry for my bad english
Greetings
I think we'll have to wait until the code gets released.
Then developers can start working on it and try to port everything from ICS to JB :fingers-crossed:
We need to be patient and should avoid to bug the devs with questions like "When will it be available for ..."
So lean back and enjoy ICS as long as no JB release is available
I'm sure it will happen very soon :victory:
Ah okay thank you for the hint and explanation
I've watched the whole Google I/O via Livestream and I'm glad if it will be released
That's a rhetorical question Of course.. This phone has shown that it can run practically anything we throw at it

I think so, i never saw more Pages of ROM for any other Phone...
Hm and i think to, that JB will come very soon after release... Why it shoudn´t?
And the German i9100G is still on GB at the moment .
It depends on what changes is made for jelly bean. Like if the drivers are mostly the same as ice cream sandwich (which is likely) then it is very possible we will have it on our phones in the future.

ICE CREAM
Just read the interview w/Andy Rubin. They said they'd open source ICS "a couple weeks" after the Galaxy Nexus's release =)
HTC has said they are looking at ICS and will determine what they will do, because most of the features that make sense great has now been added to ICS. Could be they don't update any of their old phones, and they come up with something totally new for all of their new phones going forward. If they would put sense as it is now, they would cover up a lot of the new great features of ICS. Just a thought.

I can't find anything regarding a version of CM8. I also can't find any CM versions of honeycomb. I have found CM7 with some honeycomb elements, however. Did Google ever release Honeycomb source into AOSP? That is the only place CM goes to build their roms.

Thought it might help!
It's absolutely hopeless to port ICS SDK because it only supports ARMv7 and above. The ICS sources might as well be hopeless because the HTC Wildfire lacks the support of GPU and it has a very slow processer.
Update for all - Wildfire Ice Cream Sandwich
Sorry for cross posting ... i was reading up on the same question, can wildfire work for ICS? Well good news ... someone has already started - unofficially. Its still being worked upon but seems there is hope.
Check the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1355189
Officially Ice Cream Sandwich will never be on Wildfire. Its simply not viable for business. No wonder HTC didnt upgrade to Gingerbread.

That's a bad port, but the CyanogenMod maintainer for the Wildfire, Arco, has been working on a proper ICS build, there's videos if it running with sound, so very soon we'll be seeing ICS on our devices if Arco manages to get it done!

yes it will be slow on the Wildfire. It was never meant to support ICS. Especially since there is no GPU and low end processor + RAM. However, the devs are working on alternatives to reduce the dependence on GPU.

If u got CM7 already there should be a CM9 also for u - but beware it may not run propper wihtout good hardware - even the wildfire is quite low for it (and i also read about needed hardware acceleration - others tell it hasn't much higher requirements then gingerbread - so we have to w8)
I don't know what u mean with soon - but till a fully working version will be out 2 month will pass properly. (with luck a bit more early...)
CM8 was reserved for Honeycomb - but since SourceCode never got released it will never be there so u wont miss someting.
For releases for galaxy mini keep track of the related forum:

First what for phone do you have now
Second are you going develop cm9 for wildfire?
I've got the Galaxy W.
Regarding CM9 for Wildfire, I'll have to see if there will be some software gl hacks added to it. I imagine doing that and make it work decently will be a huge task, so they might not find it worthwhile. Otherwise there probably won't be any point in developing for the Wildfire, as the user experience would just be to bad from the slow UI.
Wildfire history is done... thank you for all arco... I think I'm going to buy a nexus s... the price dropped a lot and the community around that phone is amazly strong... what do you think?

Wildfire does anything it can at the moment. I am not asking more to be honest.
If I want more, I buy a newer phone. So, if cm9 works with wildfire it is good. if it doesn't, I don't give a flying feck.
getting gingerbread is good enough for me. I don't thinkICS would run smooth, bit it would be nice to see it.

Cheap thread . Sources are out middle of July, Jelly's faster and spicked with more features than ICS. Shouldn't be hard for our devs to update, but it'll take several weeks till the sources are out.
Well in all seriousness, this "project butter" featured in 4.1 is looking very appealing to me. If this Jelly Bean OS all goes well, I might not have to buy a new phone for maybe another year?

Considering that 4.2 is just the same JB line and hoping that Samsung won't turn his back on current customers I think that there is a 50/50 chance that we will get it.
You have to ask yourself, what features in 4.2 make it a worthwhile release for Samsung? Camera and lockscreen enhancements wouldn't be adopted because Samsung uses Touchwiz there. Notification shade enhancements could be adopted. No, this is a bigger update for vanilla users.
I would be happy if we get 4.1.1 first.
