Hi community, I was just curious as to whether anyone knows if the newer manufactured Sliders (B70+) with the sbkv3 bootloader I believe are being looked at to try and add Wheelie and Nvflash functionality?
I'd just rather get all the facts so I know if it would be a better idea to continue searching for an older model.
This is in no way an ETA or demand toward anyone to get this accomplished. I was just wondering whether or not the faithful Slider community was being considered a part of the Transformer family.
Thanks for reading, feel free to respond with any comments!

I assure you, if we are able to add it, we will. That's all we can really tell right now.

Thanks for the response, rayman. Hopefully we'll get a breakthrough sometime in the future.
On a side note, anyone ever hear of a BB0 serial number? A guy on ebay is claiming that's what he has. I thought maybe he was mistaking it for B80, but he assures me it is in fact BB0. It's a 32GB model, if that means anything different.
The second B is Hex code, I believe. It's a newer model.

I have recently upgraded both my wife and my phones to Incredibles. I wanted to post here to see if anyone is interested in the two Verizon 6900s we are no longer using. I wanted to offer them here before they hit FleaBay. Both are in excellent condition, had soft silicone cases and screen protectors their entire life. Both have single very small cracks in the white plastic around the screen. I can take pics if you want. Both are in excellent working condition and have clean ESNs.
I have plenty of cables (including audio) and car chargers with both, etc...
I was running Fresh Froyo on them both until the upgrade.
Hit me up if anyone has any interest in them, if not FleaBay it is....
How much are you willing to sell them for?
Before you give them out to just anyone...

xport,
I vote for l1q1d, n2rjt, or Scott Ware, or anyone who doesn't have a vogue that needs them to test the kernels, etc.!

Just bought one for ten bucks, but I wouldn't at all be disappointed with you giving them to another dev working on the kernels, that would definitely help the rest of us Vogue users

How do I decide who is in the need?
I would definitely say l1q1d for the kernels. and someone that would make builds.
now im going to be a little bias here, but i would like scooter to get one because he has the cyanogen mod distributions

Who do you think would spend time on these phones?
The one who is willing to take one or the one who is not going to take one?
Private Message each developer.
Ask them if they would want one.

Wise and quite possible, one for l1q1d, if he is willing.
And one for Scooter, if he is willing.
I have a kaiser and a polaris thank you for offering but i'm quite good for now Also i don't know if a verizon phone could work in italy.

One thing, do kernels affect the screen calibration?? if it does, i would strongly urge you to get one. if it doesn't, thats fine, but the camera does need some work. however, it wouldn't work because it is cdma and there is no sim card slot.
Okay guys they are up for grabs, what devs want them/should have them?

I would of suggested thoughtlesskyle, because he's willing to assist, very kind, and yet not expect any contributions yet still gets some, but he's moved to another phone.
Only ones left that are quite nice are n2rjt and scooter1556!
Can someone get them to send me their address via PM as long as they are interested?

We all move on to new phones eventually. The vogue used to be the best supported of the group, thanks to dzo, but since he moved on I don't know of any developers who have vogues.
I don't think I'm a good choice, since I haven't contributed much except lots of posts. And I have already benefited from the generosity of loserskater, who gave me his old kaiser when my old one's SD reader stopped working.
You really want somebody who has Verizon service so they can work on geolocation using cell towers. I have AT&T, and won't be willing to buy Verizon service just to test Android. And since the Vogue lacks wifi, that means I won't be able to test data at all. I mean, I'd take a phone, pay the shipping, and do rudimentary testing, but I would instead advise selling it on flea-bay.
@OP,
If you are going to sell them, your market value for a Vogue is roughly $80 if it is in good shape (the case of the member who got it for $10 is a little extreme tbh)
I'd like one - and the guy who's writing Host could probably do with one.
what works for you?

This is weird, I'm trying to think what has changed with regards to the SD mounting between RLS5 and RLS4, i don't remember changing anything to be honest. I could really do with getting hold of a vogue to test. If anyone finds a solution let me know, until then i'll keep racking my brains!

This is from the Scoot Cyanogen Mod. A very recent post. Please seng him one!!
I'll notify him by PM to contact you.
Okay it's not often I bring up the word donate seeing how its going to look to some people here. But I've been tweeting Chris Walsh regarding a root solution (yes I know nodo is looming but let's be real, it doesn't fix any of our problems )
At least here we have a huge break to allow for customization of the dell venue pro. Yes chevron unlock is grand, we know that. But this is a far different beast that puts the dell venue pro on a scale of customizability that all the wp7 devices now have.
The problem is, he needs a device. So the options are
He gets an unlocked device - he's in australia
We raise funds for a device
With raising funds, we can raise enough funds. Or if someone can send an unlocked device, that works too. Whichever way works I am open to.
So I am leaving it up to xda users with the dvp, just like me. Do we want our device to have some access to registry and stuff so we can possibly theme and maybe fix some of our own problems? Or do we want to wait for dell to do it? (look how well that's working out).
I am not just talking - I am donating too and my donation is
40 USD
That will go to Chris Walsh's paypal. We need enough to buy a device. Or maybe someone can donate one. Or we can buy one from xda I don't care how we do it. But he has to get a device. Anyone else up for a little donation to one of the chevron members?
GOAL TO RAISE Enough for an unlocked dvp
Donation Link will be Updated ASAP
Donation list
Let's get started. As soon as he gives me his paypal info we can start this off. And I will donate 40 USD toward the project.
Well, I'm up for 20€ ~> 30USD...
I'm eager to buy it but I'm anxious because of all the problems...(Europe here)
I'm just waiting for Chris to send me his paypal so we can get this underway but we are also looking into some other options. It should be interesting. I mean I found a focus on cg, but if i had some extra I'd buy that use it and send my dvp to him immediately!
this may be better though XD
Im a bit of a noob to all the lingo on here... could you inform me what "go native" means and what chris will be working on... I'm willing to donate if its something we can all make use of ....#
thanx.
Don't mean to be rude, but who's Chris Walsh, and why should we be buying him a DVP?

I say if he thinks the dvp architecture is childplay, that is a good sign for us...I'll still donate but I've had it with dell. 7 Devices and it still doesn't work...
I'll still contribute any way I can too..actually...
...
hm...
maybe...I'll call dell say I changed my mind and send chris the device when he's in vegas for mix. I think that may be a good idea. I will need the device back but as long as he can work his magic for the better of the community
chevron works for DVP
I've used chevron to unlock my DVP n side load some apps.
all apps that install on my unlocked hd2 run equally fine on dvp.
i am more interested in un-branding of my DVP so that we can get access to updates easily..
n yes!! i'd love to donate for this project..
sideload =/= native
please understand the full intention of this. Chevron allows for developer sideloading of homebrew programs and applications (sometimes games) but it does not give us native dll access for deeper entry into windows phone where most devices have (LG, specifically having a registry editor, and htc is so open its not even funny). We know that the wp7 update does not solve many issues dvp users are facing (in fact many users are complaining of the same issues we are currently having)
So with that said, its a good idea to try native for a variety of reasons. One is to rule out whether the issues are our own, or are they hardware/software. Access to the registry helps. Access to a file explorer helps too. All of that is possible through native.
Like I said before, I have no qualms of chris using my device and I am ready to deliver it to him anytime. I just need his okay. The thread will change to an update thread on progress of native access. Let's hope some magic can be worked
If you are in contact with Chris Walsh, let him know that myself and a co-worker will be in Vegas for Mix as well and he's free to hack my (our) DVPs as much as he wants. We'll be staying at the Mandalay. Seems a much cheaper option than crowdsourcing ~600 USD.
wow okay this is becoming quite option filled!
I have my dvp for him to use and other dvps available! I'll notify him at once

yeah, what happened here? any news?
I am very interested... Although I cannot donate cash -I am willing to donate some time even on coding if necessary ...
what else does this mean for us? Could we eventually see Android running on the DVP? And yes, I'm very well aware of the Dell Venue and I dont want to hear someone getting butt hurt over me wanting Android on the DVP. Tell me this can be done and I'd be willing to invest more than just 20 bucks to this cause.
Does anyone have an update on anything? What are our other options if this is not happening anymore? We will likely need to have an unlock for NoDo in addition to this now that the majority have updated or received new phones with NoDo preinstalled.
I don't think this is happening from what i heard last.
the main thing right now is to hopefully gain registry write access (SOON!! I HOPE! ) ...I wonder if there will ever be a way or should I just trade my phone for a HD7 ? IDK...
from what i've noticed, 99% members who actively post in the DVP forums are very upset with their devices. registry editing or side-loading app development is on no one's priority list it seems.
it's really sad. DVP could have been a great device..
Is this thread still alive? please let me know. I might have a working device (with a few small defects) I am willing to donate. Just give me a couple of days.
Thought I'd attempt it but id like to know what has been tried. Thanks

I was gonna go in Acer's international headquarters and take hostages until they unlocked the bootloader. It'd probably be faster.
Good to see another Carolina boy around here, although I left the Carolinas a few years ago.
Clearly nothing by the lack of responses. This tablet is dead for hacking. I will be getting rid of mine in a few months if nothing progresses with this tab.

actually there are a few guys who are working quite hard at getting through the bootloader, but it is hard work. Progress has been made though...... when you buy a product early, sometimes you have to be a little patient while the smart guys figure out how to get around the protections put in place. And I can say I'm in discussions with a very friendly gent from Acer singapore about getting things sorted by Acer themselves...... too early to say much, but he is quite open and responsive. All things will come in time one way or another If you are looking to help them out, you may want to check the thread on here..... the boys there will be better prepared to tell you what needs to be done

Greetings!
I have ran out of options and finally decided to take this step, not really sure if it will work but still hoping though that it will. I have come here to ask for help from developers and people with great knowledge in these things. Here is my situation. My friend bought a gmate+ device abroad as a gift for me here in Philippines and unfortunately, this device can only be used in the country it was bought in. After reading things in the manufacturer's site and contacting them (they have a very not-so-satisfying customer service, sorry to mention this), it seems that there really is no cure for my case unless I have it ship back and ask for refund then buy a new one here instead, which is also almost impossible because I do not have the receipt(the item was just given to me without any receipt) and I do not know exactly from which store my friend purchase it(and according to him, he is also unsure from which store exactly because he went shopping for things as gifts not in just a single store or place). So to make the story short, I now have a useless piece of device which could have been really great for my Nexus 7 if only it works. The gmate+ is a device sold by the company Skyroam. This is a bluetooth device which allows an Android or iOS running gadget to have the ability to use GSM service through it via bluetooth pairing and software. I do not know if it is really hard, but I'm thinking ( actually hoping and praying ) that maybe somebody here could do something about my case, perhaps build a workaround via a software. I would really appreciate it if anybody would take time to work on this project. Additional info which may help, if anybody's interested, I'm running the stock update Android 4.3 for the Nexus 7 (2012).
Thanks and more power!
Are you sure that this is related to app development? Can this be changed with an app?

Not 100% sure, but like I said I am really praying and hoping it is. Maybe somebody could think of a workaround or if it's really impossible then at least they'd inform me why.
Thank you so much for the link.

You might need another firmware for the gmate+.
Or someone has to rewrite the Android app.
But to me it seems as if it it needed another firmware.

This is what I'm hoping somebody here could.
The manufacturer's site is up and it has details about the product as well, so the developer could know better about it. I have also found similar gadgets online. They are mostly products that are manufactured in China and have outdated softwares.
Somebody needs to get a root for the latest update on my Verizon Galaxy S5. This really sucks and I understand that it most likely won't happen but I know that someone out there can do it, it's just a matter of stepping back for a moment and proving that Verizon just can't keep walking over top of us when EVER they feel like it! We own the product that we purchased and don't need to be dictated and manipulated on a product that's a lot of us paid nearly$600.00 for. It just isn't right and most likely ? illegal.
