Lenovo is staunchly maintaining that the GPS issue is hardware related, yet none who sent in their tabs are finding them fixed when returned.
They supposedly sent the software fix in the 0089 update.

Can't get to work on rooted unit with yareftpt. Used root keeper, changed busybox.

Ditto
Did you try flashing though CWR?
Currently downloading the update from here
http://download.lenovo.com/slates/think/tablet1
Will give that a try

Nope been waiting for it to be available.
Downloading now
Cheers.
Update: So changed busy box to 89 ROW one, temp turned Root OFF and at least now I can see the error that may assist those more technically minded than me:
assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device")=="Indigo" || getprop("ro.build.product")=="Indigo"
E:Error in /sdcard/ThinkPadTablet_A310)03)0069)9121_ROW.zip
(Status 7 )
Installation aborted.

Yeah I got the exact same error

At least it's consistent.
I believe it relates to the updater-script in the zip file from my research, I can see what I suspect is the relevant lines in the script but I'm not even going to try and edit as from there I'm a blind man in a mine field.
( Blind man walking, can see there's no ro.build.product=Indigo in my build.prop, gonna put that line in and see how I go.............blind man walking..... )

Ok, I reinstalled the stock recovery using this http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-slate-tablets/OTA2-US-Root-CWM-update-instructions/td-p/682841
I got the required files (install-recovery.sh, and recovery-from-boot.p) from the current update http://download.lenovo.com/slates/think/tablet1/ThinkPadTablet_A310_02_0039_0089_ROW.zip (I skipped the gps.conf file)
Now I just get an error about busybox
assert failed: apply_patch_check ("/system/xbin/busybox", "866220b22686c7d9f260ccadb5e321d7807eb5a", "a6d35d818192b95f8983b9ca94577a16bee5e349")

Waiting...waiting.....

Restored busybox from the same file I mentioned before and it worked.
I'm now rocking ICS

All went will UNTIL I tried to reinstall CWM. Now stuck on : Booting recovery Kernel Image.
Supposedly mostly caused by soft resets but I made sure I used hard resets....

Nexus S 4G (D720) 4.0.4 OTA

So I've heard reports about the OTA being released for 4.0.4 and I understand it's supposed to be a 2 week rollout schedule. This isn't a thread asking when I'll get it (I haven't).
Just let me know if you guys have gotten it yet, or what you're planning on doing. Make this a fun pole.

I just had a pop up that said a system update was available so I clicked install and it went into my cwm recovery and said something about it wasn't signed correct and installation was aborted. Was that the update to 4.0.4?
Edit: by the way I'm rooted and went back to gingerbread last night because I was having problems with the room I was running.

Yeh if you're running CWM you're probably not going to be able to get the OTA, it relies on the stock recovery I believe.
I have it and haven't installed it yet, can't figure out how to pull it before I apply it so others can get it. I am trying to do it without rooting if anyone can help let me know...

Then i use one click stock to go completely back to stock and the update started instantly. Just remember to update to 2.3.7 first because stock is on 2.3.4 and reports showed error if you werent on 2.3.7.. its been since december i waited for this moment. custom roms were fun but stock 4.0.4 OtA just feels good to the soul.

Verizon LG G2 System Update Available

Hi everyone,
I got a popup window notifying me about a system update that was ready to install on my Verizon LG G2. I chose not to install it, but it said I can install it later. I am rooted and I am not sure what this update is for, possibly a fix for the root exploits. Anyone else seeing this?
EDIT: Everyone is confirming that it does not break root, but if you have already installed TWRP then DO NOT ACCEPT THE UPDATE.

Please confirm that you did the system update and can still use root apps. Also, which root method did you use. Maybe they patched the Chinese method, but not the newer method yet!

The Newest recovery has ADB option and is considered safe for now. My point is that why would anyone accept an OTA when it is obvious that withing a short period of time there is not only going to be a fully fixed recovery plus Custom ROM's based on the latest Stock ROM with the OTA included. Once you Root and install recovery, you kiss the carrier and their attempts at "Updates" goodbye.

Oh crap, did the update and it looks like I'm soft bricked(?). I can only get to TWRP, and can't reboot the phone (always goes back to TWRP, no matter what I do, even after Factory Reset). PLEASE HELP!!
(Verizon G2)
I'm not sure if I can attribute this to the ota update but my wifi performance has been really glitchy. Constant disconnect/reconnect.
I can't say it's due 100% to the ota because wifi will occasionally get spotty due to the sheer amount of wifi APs and traffic at my workplace.
Anyone else experience this? BTW I'm rooted.

NEW to Verizon note 3....not new to note 3...i have a few ????

i have a few concerns about this note 3 from verizon
1. OTA wont stop updating....wifi, or on network! 12 noon every day it wants me to install kitkat...
2. from what i can tell, kitkat is not working well....something about battery life and the file transfer from sd card to phone does not work right? anything else im missing
3. if i want to keep 4.3, im guessing root is my only option?
4. the phone has some serious lag on sometimes...my tmobile note 3 was smooth and flawless and worked without any issues. is this normal or do i just need to root and install a better rom?

[P907A] New Software Update P907AUCU1ANK2

It looks like Samsung and AT&T have released the SM-P907A's first software update. It's still Android 4.4.2 but fixes a really major bug that caused the System UI process to go into an infinite crash loop when you would adjust the volume while connected to a Chromecast.
As far as the BSOD goes, so far, I have not experienced it with this new firmware. That said, I want to use it for at least a week before I say for sure that it's fixed.
One bug that doesn't seem to be fixed, though, is with VPN. Using the standard Android VPN functionality, I can connect to my work's Cisco VPN via IPSec Xauth PSK on any Android device except on the P907A. If I set it up, it connects, then immediately disconnects. Annoying.
AT&T also added a bigger, more gaudy 4G LTE icon.

Mine is still BSODing after the update. No difference, and maybe worse...
Yep my SM-P907a also getting the blue screen the update hasn't fixed the issue.

It unrooted mine also, I even had the box checked in SuperSU to try to maintain root. Guess I may have to look into reverting back to old firmware...
EDIT: I ended up using ODIN to go back to stock. After doing so, I rooted using towelroot then before installing SuperSU I used the debloat script to disable Knox and the updater. This has allowed me to have root without Knox tripping plus no random reboots. In short use the debloat script and not SuperSU to disable Knox and you will be good to go.

I am working up a post here in general outlining how to do everything I talked about.
I just got mine back from Samsung repair for the 3rd time. So in total, they have replaced the motherboard twice, the screen twice and updated the sw each time. It is still doing the blue screen nonsense! I'm really discouraged. I can't find much online about this problem. I will keep up with this forum in hopes of someone being able to come up with a solid solution. I have lost my faith in Samsung. Lol and that's sad because every device I own is Samsung. Over the past few months, I have managed to teach myself how to root my tablet...any further than that gets really confusing. Lol so any help would be appreciated!

DO NOT UPDATE FROM APGC TO API4... (If you want root...)

Tested right before replacing my N7 (v1)...
After upgrading to latest API4 "Green Battery" Update...
Confirmed:

The API4 update is available to V1 phones. I took it, knowing I'd be getting a new phone in a couple of days.
As I understand it, they'll make you take it one way or the other.
i can confirm do not update your v2 note 7 to the new firmware. you cannot downgrade and they have blocked the sprint userdebug firmware from even flashing.
if you want to keep root. don't do it.
wht are the chances that the update comes straight from the box..
It does bro....i got mines today and it automatically started down loading...i just asked this question to @jovy23 in another thread
Yep, mine installed right out of the box. what a bunch of a-holes. wifes did the same thing, no root now welp, perhaps its time to return it and buy a different phone. this is retarded.

as long as the phones don't come preinstalled then it's fine.
Well... I just updated to API4 intentionally, to try out the new update on my v1 device. I gotta say it's much more snappier now and lag is completely gone after it fully boots everything. But it's still not worth losing root over. So I'm either gonna get a refund or buy the international version, better yet might just say goodbye to sammy all together.
I don't know why anyone is still surprised about non-Nexus devices being locked down. Sure, a device might get root access, but it's the OEMs job to fix it in future builds because it's an exploit that needs to be fixed.
My update downloaded but I disabled, anyone know where the update file is? What folder? I can't find it.

Same here, it downloads on its own but it can be postponed up to 3 times before it automatically installs the update, so what do I have to disable so the update won't install, or where can i find the update and delete that sob? You can go into settings and turn off auto updates, or download package disabler from the play store and disable the 2 software updates lines. I still have a v1 phone and no update here because of that
