Love the fact that the s3 has no apparent banding on most screens however ive noticed on the google email creation page there is banding ... also where the same blue is used (mainly on email sign up pages) the same banding is there
Has anyone else got this ?
Every other page is crisp and no banding i just wonder more that worry why the google page has it ?
On my note a lot of pages have banding so im not that worried its a 1000% better

I was always under the impression that was actually the design of that background image.
Hello.
Try that...
It will fix your problem.
It will work to any rom you have.
Credits goes to Zabalba for his work.
It is a default ugly background that appears in some settings/apps. It is the wrong choice of background as it makes the amoled black look like lcd black if you don't know it is the background.

Are you sure this only happens on that specific page? For me, it happens on all pages with that background.

I love this app. Although I have issues with the upload and download portion. Just one question/suggestion for the developers. Can u make a version/ option to invert the colors. I've been messing with the gmail app that has black background and im pretty fond of it... plus I hear dark colours significantly reduce battery drain on samoled

Had no idea what you were talking about until I saw the signature.
Yeah, black background would be nice. Blacks on AMOLEDs are basically just the pixels shut off, whereas with LCD the backlight continues to eat energy regardless of whether most of the screen is dark.

Under settings just change the display style to dark. My xda app has the background black w/ white text.

Just an FYI XDA doesn't develop this app, Tapatalk does. They have the same app for hundereds of forums. The forum admin installs a plugin on the server to allow Tapatalk to work, and then they can skin a version of Tapatalk to go with it.
If you have requests for UI/Usefullness you should probably look them up, not XDA.
Hey guys I don't know if there is something up with my device or this problem is standard, the thing is that my email app (not Gmail just email) and my stock browser have a weird blue tinge to them, when I switch back to some other programs or apps the colors come back to normal, the brightness on these two apps also reduce as compared to my normal settings, any help is appreciated, cheers

Those apps have their own power saving/brightness controls.
Check the settings menu when you are inside those apps. I know for sure the stock browser has its own display settings that are independent of the system settings.

Hey,
So my phone is a 303k and has a resolution of 768x1184 as opposed to the advertised 768x1280. This is extremely weird!
What are your guys resolutions?
Here's an app to check your resolution

Thanks for looking!

Its because of the Virtual keys I believe.

It is 768x1280, but apps only have 768x1184 available to them because the on screen buttons take up some real estate.

Definitely the navbar. Expanded desktop shows 768x1280.

Am I the only one who sees obvious pixelation in some widgets? The analog clock for instance doesn't seem to be in HD as some of other stock google widgets, I really hope they upgrade this
DUDE stop posting everywhere your phone is FINE its cause the nav bar
Guys!!! Its not the nave bar! Its the chrome browser or the app. Check the difference between chrom and aosp browser. I'll put pictures.

I actually notice a lot of pixelation. That was primarily my main concern of checking the resolution

If you use PIE you can regain those pixels or you can even shrink it on certain ROMs.

Whoops, accidentally thanked your post. That was a complete mistake. What exactly is the problem here? Are you saying that you think your screen is not 1280x768, or is the text all pixelated? Because you just seem to be complaining about numbers on the screen, while you're having no actual problems with using the browser. Could you specify your exact problem, other than the fact that the numbers are off?

He's complaining about both I think. Because he thinks the screen is defective, he's starting to notice micro-imperfections, and attributing them to a messed up display. The display does have the full resolution advertised, which you're able to fully utilize in apps that support fullscreen mode, like some video applications. The nav bar is just part of the package, but there's no real dishonesty in the advertising or anything.
The reason you have the difference between Chrome and stock Android browser is because Chrome has a pseudo-fullscreen mode now that hides the address bar automatically.
Don't worry man. Your screen is just fine. Be happy that you have a Nexus 4. It's quite an extraordinary smartphone.

It can be done yes, you need to theme the background white and change the primary/sub xml files to white text.
Dont 'spose you have a flashable zip? I much prefer the Note 8.0 menus
Or use another launcher instead of TW to change the background to whatever you want it to be.

Yes. When did Samsung decide to chsnge it. In fact I have similar settings background on my S3 as well. Any way to get this back on S4?

That's for jb4.1.2. Might not be the same with 4.2.2. It's your phone so you decide.

Try out XBackground Xposed Module
I didn't test it yet on our device but I was going to do the same once I had time and backups ran
I think I must be the only person that actually likes the white dialer.

You can try an xposed theme if you haven't already. Some of these will change the dialer. It will also theme other stuff so that may be good or bad depending on your taste.
If interested, check the xtheme thread in the Android Theme section.
