Awesome app. - Epic 4G General

I love this app. Although I have issues with the upload and download portion. Just one question/suggestion for the developers. Can u make a version/ option to invert the colors. I've been messing with the gmail app that has black background and im pretty fond of it... plus I hear dark colours significantly reduce battery drain on samoled

Had no idea what you were talking about until I saw the signature.
Yeah, black background would be nice. Blacks on AMOLEDs are basically just the pixels shut off, whereas with LCD the backlight continues to eat energy regardless of whether most of the screen is dark.

Under settings just change the display style to dark. My xda app has the background black w/ white text.

Just an FYI XDA doesn't develop this app, Tapatalk does. They have the same app for hundereds of forums. The forum admin installs a plugin on the server to allow Tapatalk to work, and then they can skin a version of Tapatalk to go with it.
If you have requests for UI/Usefullness you should probably look them up, not XDA.

Xoom Status Bar Brightness?

Hi folks - My Dad - all 75 years of techno geek in him - just got a Xoom.
He loves Android (on his EVO & trying to learn the Xoom) but his eyes can't seem to see the status bar down @ the bottom clearly.
It looks dim. Is there way to adjust the brightness for the status bar (particularly the lower right one)?
Thanks.
I don't think there is. It just uses the standard screen brightness setting so its the full screen or nothing I think.

Thanks for the input.
From the lack of responses, I tend to think this isn't a huge issue for people. LOL!
We did adjust the brightness for the screen & it didn't seem to make much of an incremental difference.
Try one of the themes that brighten it up.
Touchwiz is brighter, I'm sure the red theme is brighter as well.

Hmmm...will look for it. Thanks for the idea.
If you're going to use a theme, you will have to convince him to let you root his XOOM.
If you want to go that route and don't feel like installing a completely new theme, I can make a brighter version of the stock control buttons for you. The clock font brightness is not editable at this time since hnytool hasn't been updated for 3.2, however.
As far as colors go, green is easiest and brightest seen by the human eye. Try the green theme.

I was always under the impression that was actually the design of that background image.
Hello.
Try that...
It will fix your problem.
It will work to any rom you have.
Credits goes to Zabalba for his work.
It is a default ugly background that appears in some settings/apps. It is the wrong choice of background as it makes the amoled black look like lcd black if you don't know it is the background.

Are you sure this only happens on that specific page? For me, it happens on all pages with that background.

Ripple effect makes pictures washed out on lockscreen

So this is my first topic here and since everyone seems so nice I figured this would be the best place to ask this question. Whenever I find a really good locksreen picture it seems as having the ripple effect just complelty washes out the picture and makes it look horrible. I realize that you can disable that effect but I personally like it. So I guess what my question is if there is any way to keep the ripple effect yet have HD like pictures on my lockscreen with the original resolution?
I get my wallpapers from the Zedge app and they all look great on the lockscreen w/ ripple effect. It could just be an issue with the resolution of the wallpapers you're using.

I noticed it with dark wallpapers. I mostly go with dark setups so I had to disable the ripple effect.

Ok this is probably in then because I love dark lockscreens as well =/ well thats kind of disappointing =(
It's emulating water on top of the picture. So yea its gonna be shiny looking, but best bet is to go with vibrant color on lock screen

Weird blue tinge

Hey guys I don't know if there is something up with my device or this problem is standard, the thing is that my email app (not Gmail just email) and my stock browser have a weird blue tinge to them, when I switch back to some other programs or apps the colors come back to normal, the brightness on these two apps also reduce as compared to my normal settings, any help is appreciated, cheers

Those apps have their own power saving/brightness controls.
Check the settings menu when you are inside those apps. I know for sure the stock browser has its own display settings that are independent of the system settings.
Hey mate thanks for the reply, now I'm starting to get a bit worried because even before I tinkered around with anything the color changed back to its normal hue, not sure what exactly is going on

Hey guys to anyone out there that is interested in what was going on, I actually found out that the power saving option on the galaxy note 2 turns the background color of the stock browser and the email and possibly a few more apps from white to a blue hue, mystery solved....... Is it possible to make the nav bar transparent?

My nav bar is burning into my screen, just like all the Razr Ms I saw in the Verizon store.
So, is there a way to make the nav bar transparent without removing it? I want to stay on the stock rom (but I am unlocked/rooted).
Thanks!

I know it's possible on CM based ROMs and AOKP has an autohide feature for the nav bar. However, I'm not sure on the stock ROM. You might want to check out Xposed Framework. It can be used to theme a stock ROM, without having to mess with .apk's or anything. I know that are a lot of customization modules out there for Xposed.
Somewhere in your System Settings, depending on what ROM you are using, you should find a setting called Navigation Bar. Click setting and there should be towards the bottom of the screen an option for Navigation Bar Transparency, Turn percentage down to zero. Also if you choose to use PIE Controls your Navigation Bar defaults to hidden and then when you toggle back to Navigation Bar or close PIE, your Navigation Bar appears.

Yeah, mine is very noticeable when playing a video or something where the buttons are not on the screen.
Man, the ones in the Verizon stores when I got mine in February had the circle widgets burned in really bad.
These burns don't even make sense. Old CRTs would burn because they're shooting electrons at the glass and if they sat long enough shooting and the same place they would literally burn into the glass. LEDs are just lights, I really want to know why it does this.

The best I can find so far is the app softkeyz on the market it is a paid app and its not transparent but you can select no icons they still function... I'm still looking for something better...

You are correct. It does not burn into anything and logically, according to the technology, it doesn't make sense that it would.

If I recall, this burn in is not really burn-in per say, but that the back-lights behind the pixels are burning and decaying at different rates. Since the buttons are always white, and the area around them always dimmed, the 'burn-in' is a lot more noticeable.

The organic compoumds degrades over time with use. Not burn in in the old CRT sense, but a similar end effect.

It is very slight in my device. I can see where the screen has a slightly a cooler tint where the nav bar and notification bar is at. It is easiest to see when you are looking at a completely white screen.
Its barely noticeable on a day to day basis.
