You need to add to to nook: http://nookdevs.com/Tips_and_tricks#Install_New_Fonts

I'm not sure about Droid Sans Fallback, but none of the standard fonts have U02A4 (the dz) in them.
Offhand some of the DejaVu fonts have it, but neither a plain serif or sans serif.
Arial Unicode, Lucida Sans Unicode, Microsoft Sans Serif have it.

oh...I'm afraid i'm confused a little bit. What shall i do exactly? Shall i add new fonts in the way ApokrifX said? There are so many information i can't follow due to my incompetence i guess. Maybe there are some flashable files/ROM's that include above mentioned unicode fonts...Besides, can i read languages like arabic in case unicode fonts are installed? I think i can but i just want to be sure once again

There's a lot of info on that link, but a lot is particular to the Nook color.
Personally, I'd try to "hijack" a font.
There's a list of 6 fonts in the Reader.
Pick one that you don't like.
Copy over your special font onto the same name in /system/fonts

Thank you for the tip, Renate, i will give it a try tomorrow! I am going to replace one of the fonts with "iberation fonts" from above mentioned instructions... it is unicode font as they say. Hope it resolve the problem!

Unfortunately it does not work...i added Liberation Sarif font (which is Unicode), but it did not help. Seems GoldenDict uses its own font that should be replaced with another...

IPA symbols in fonts are rare.
Ascender Sans has a bunch of IPA symbols, but only the ones used in English.
If you are dealing with another language half the symbols aren't in there.

Im dealing only with english...maybe its goldendict issue after all...

Maybe the font in my nook which Goldendict referring to lacks all this symbols you mentioned... But i cant figure out which font it is...

Liberation doesn't even have a schwa U+0259
DejaVu fonts seem to cover a lot of the IPA.

Is there a problem to check, if symbol exists in a font using MS Char Map?
Or ppl waiting for Renate to port it to nook?

I thought that I mentioned it, but apparently I didn't.
DejaVu fonts cover the full IPA character set.

Creating a font cab.

Hello, i recently found a 3 .cab files that changed the fonts in on my HTC Touch. The 3 files contained Segoe, Calibri and Myriad.
Since i'm not a big hero with registery edits, programming and stuff, I was wondering if someone could make a cab file with the font "Helvetica".
Thanks
give me that font.. i need exactly what you need to have.
http://www.fontseek.com/fonts/helvetica.htm
damn, it may be GOOD ebook font..hmm.
(btw, it is that Amiga font, lol ?)
Does any one know how to make the font aittle bit bigger for the whole system?
Here you go sir!

Helvetica.ttf
Thank you in advance.
this is exactly what i was trying to do but never got it to work, been too busy to revisit it.... btw helvetica is the most awesome typeface ever! watch the helvetica documentary!
...here is CAB...

@nothin
Thanks for making the cab.
I guess you could say, thanks for nothin. *cough*
First off, thank you for the effort. But, after installing it, i got a message saying that the application might not work due to it's build for a older version of Windows Mobile.
After a soft reset there where no changes.
My guess is that it didnt install it.
you can place any truetype fonts you like in /windows/fonts and then select them using the application tweaks2k2. This is pay software but you get 3 free runs to try it out, so you can install, change the font and you can change it back if you don't like it and still don't want to buy the software. It is a registry edit somewhere so when it is changed it stays changed until you 'tweak' it back.

SWYPE!

Swype has just been leaked for android, and it's awsome!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bLwxIwMFzR4
How to install:
http://www.mobilecrunch.com/2009/12/30/how-to-get-swype-on-android/
Now to my question:
I am from Denmark, but there is no danish dictionary available. Would it be possible to either install a danish dictionary somehow (Can't find out where they put the dictionaries in the .cap...) or to just make a HUGE list of danish words in the "User dictionary" somehow?
This version will not work for MT3G or G1 users. Screen resolutions do not match.

I assume we would need to change the resolution values in at least SwypeScreen.ini found in "/assests/files/" in the apk and resize the images in "assests/keyboards/"
What are the g1/mytouch portrait and landscape resolutions anyways?
Files are 854*256, and 480*320 for the kb skins. We also have 24*24, 19*19, and 15*15 for some icons.
*edit* I tried resizing one of each the kb skins in gimp, I've got 480*144, and 320*213 that looks about right don't you guys think?*edit*

480x320, landscape is 320x480
And I vote that we combine all the various threads:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=609059
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=600930
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=614363&highlight=swype
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=609496
and probably others...
I went with the ratio above for the files, but no go. Installed fine, but complained about wrong resolution. I'll try resizing now to more exact proportions which should be 480*171 (for the droids 852*256) and 320*180 (480*320).
I still haven't found another file that talks about resolutions either, also maybe I have to change the file names to represent the updated size, though I don't think that should matter.
So there's a Swype build that got out with a leaked Magic RUU. I managed to get it installed on my myTouch 3G and partially running. Installation is complicated by the need to install a library to /system/lib (so only rooted devices need apply right now).
If anyone manages to get the Swype-based input to actually output, or figure out the build.prop changes to make the annoying messages go away, please let me know. I'm not going to have the chance to mess with it this weekend so I figure I might get people started.
I was also looking at that, but I guess I'm having the same results you are. Personally, no error messages, but the keyboard doesn't show up at all.

[Q] Asian languages in Vibrant

Hi,
I would like to read web pages in Thai,Hindi and Punjabi on vibrant. How can this be achieved ?
Will this work on vibrant http://nexusonehacks.net/android-hacks/droid-hack-how-to-install-thai-font-on-droid/
Thanks
Download the IME of the language you want in the market and select it language setting. Then set text encoding as unicode.
This should work for most languages.
could not find ime for the desired language..now what ?
If you just want to read the web pages, it's simple. Just make sure the fonts that you are using support those languages and set text encoding to unicode. From what I know, Droid Sans support most of the Asian languages. As for the rarer ones, you probably need to Google them to find out.
If you want to input the characters, you need an IME (input method editor). If you can't find them on the market, you have to rely on the community to write one for you or better, create one yourself.
how to create an IME on android: http://android-developers.blogspot.com/2009/04/creating-input-method.html
Hi,
I checked the default fonts in the mobile and they have same name as of the http://nexusonehacks.net/android-hac...font-on-droid/
Are these same files ?
Can someone people suggest steps for samsung vibrant.

can I change fonts size with Honeycomb

hi
I would like to know if can I change fonts size on the galaxy tab 7 7 with Honeycomb ? And how?
the fonts sizes are really small. I can't read it
There is a free app called Big Font for solving this problem.
However, I found that some app doesn't work well with Big Font, among which is the default Calendar app. You could still read the calendar with some other calendar apps, say Pocket Informant (paid), though.
thank you but I meant tthe system system font not apps
or does the Big Font do system font size?
A simple search would have found several threads that answer this question.

I wasnt being rude, just not ehuggy either. Lack of search is what flutters this forum and makes good info harder to find for others.

Have you tried Spare Parts?
Yes, bigfont will change the system font size. It doesn't work in Kindle and most readers but they have their own font changing ability.
It also won't change the startup screen or the text under icons but all in all, it works well.

[Q] Add LTR support and fonts, possible?

Hey
I was reading on nookdevs.com and some posts on XDA about RTL support and supporting more languages (for apps like opera mobile and for books), specifically Hebrew. At this point when I browse to any Hebrew web site I can see only squares.
Is it possible? If it is possible, how can I do it?
/system/fonts/DroidSansFallback.ttf is the font of choice when all else fails.
Apparently it has Chinese but no Hebrew. (I'd never though to look.)
The DejaVu fonts have Hebrew, find them here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/dejavu/files/
Copy whichever you want over to /system/fonts/DroidSansFallback.ttf
You will lose Chinese when you do that.

What about the RTL support? Do you have idea how do I make ir work?
I know that some guys here have Arabic installed, it's also RTL. But I don't know how they did it
edit:
Installed the fonts and it works great! Thank you.
All that is left is to find a Hebrew keyboard and RTL support.
I don't know anything about RTL but HTML with dir="rtl" gets reversed in Opera Mobile.
Neither have I looked into soft IMEs for other charsets.
However, if you want to use an external USB keyboard it's trivial to put the Unicode into /system/usr/keychars/qwerty.kcm.bin

I was referring to this post.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22709152&postcount=26
It works well enough for Arabic and I find no reason why it won't work for Hebrew.
Great, it worked!
At first I thought that you where talking about the app from your first post.
