Is there anything NOT broken in your phone? Why do you even consider repairing it? The repair would probably cost as much as buying a new one with warranty.

hey, now i'm looking closer and ear speaker and loud speaker isn't broken... just a part of a headphone is broken inner, and the phone detects that "a headphone is plugged" so the calls go for the supuest handfree, and the songs go for the supuest plugged headphones... I don't know how can i get off the part of the headphone, i've tried with a lot of little metals, u know, just pull of making some pressure, but didn't work, any idea?
and the digitizer is just broken, do u know which is better?

speaker sound was working fine until i flashed a certain rom.
i got headphone audio, and vibrate, but no external speaker sound.
could it be a coincidence? time to replace the speaker module?
any other options i have? i bought this phone when it was released, i dont have a replacement plan option, nor the money to get it repaired by a tech.
ive got experience with phone repairs and taking apart/putting back together phones so a hardware repair shouldnt be a problem.. but i would like that to be a last resort.
any ideas?
thanks

Have you tried flashing a different rom?

You don't have 35 dollars to have a sprint repair store fix your speakerphone?

is that all it costs???
well deeennnggg. imma do that then, lol
I paid about 30 and did it myself but that's just me..I got 5 speakers to switch from and I'm not a risk taker but I did it.

Hi, suddenly the 3.5mm jack on my vibrant stopped working for 1 side. I know there is a replacable part but, I dont know if its just the jack or the motherboard itself...
Does anyone have repaired his vibrant replacing the jack? the jack and antena flex is not expensive but i want to be sure if that the root of the problem...
If there is problem with motherboard most likely it would be software related as long as there is no water damage.

Yeah, it was the first thing I tried, the headphones work on other things, and others headphones dont work on the phone...
Already reversed to stock rom and its the same
Well I guess better start ordering that flex... if that doesnt work either... time to change phone I guess...

Just a suggestion, but you could check and see if there is anything stuck to the contacts within the jack on the phone. Something could be keeping it from making contact.

I did, but nope, its clean there and also have a otterbox case which covers the hole when not in use, so It couldn't get dirty like that... Tried cleaning the pins with a qtip and isopropyl alcohol but not a single change... not even a noise when rotating the plug or something that make me think its dirty...
I hope that the flex is the problem and not something on the motherboard
The part that you need is only US $8.58 on eBay Item number: 250896342047
I doubt its tthe motherboard (tho it could be)... good lluck

Thanks, I already ordered so, just gonna wait to get it and let you guys know if it fixed it or not
Kinda hard to rely in Bluetooth audio now... audio quality sucks :/
UPDATE:
I received the replacement jack about a week ago, but just had time to replace it.
It does the same It's the ****in' motherboard >_<
Well, it worth the try for 9 dollars, but just feel disappointed it doesn't work
I though maybe you guys wanted to know and thanks for the help though
That is lame. Hopefully you can still warranty it.
:s my speaker is gone all woo! and it wasn't like that the other day :/ I'm not sure if i just dropped it or something but any fixes ?
Does this happen when you are talking normally, or only in speaker mode... or both?
It could be that warranty return is the easiest method of fixing it if this is a hardware problem.
Yeah your speaker could be damaged

The speaker on the HTC Trophy is really prone to defect, and the issue of the speaker sounding all blown-out is a widespread issue if you have a warranty, even a really limited warranty (only covering defects) you should ask for a replacement.
hello guys,
THE PROBLEM I AM FACING IS WHEN I CONNECT MY PHONE THROUGH AUX CABLE IN MY CAR THE SOUND IS VERY POOR (DISTORTED/CRACKING).
THINGS ALREADY TRIED-
1. USED DIFFERENT AUX CABLES.
2. STEREO OF CAR IS TOTALLY FINE AND PLAYING SOUND FROM OTHER FONES FLAWLESSLY.
3. NEVER HAD SUCH PROBLEM WITH HEADPHONES.
4. CLEANED AUDIO JACK SEVERAL TIMES.
INTERESTING THING IS THAT I HAVE A GALAXY S3 ALSO AND THE SAME PROBLEM IS WITH THAT BRAND NEW SET.
I HOPE YOU WILL REVERT BACK WITH THE MOST APPROPRIATE SOLUTION.
Writing in caps wont help ya

ohhh really...thanks for your kind advice and such a great help...DB..
Same thing happens to my phone now, only when I plug the earphones in a certain way it works, but the lightest movement screws up everything. It's very annoying.
I've done a bunch of cleaning, even went to a tech guy who finally stated me the obvious: It's broken.
I've been using bluetooth earphones so I forgot about it. I think your best choice is to buy an "earphone plug flex", the one of the GN2 and get it replaced.

Thanx Ronaldx,
ya man i have been also told to get the jack replaced but i am amazed that this problem is from the very first day in the phone but i never bothered coz i use headphones most of the time.
Well right now i think i just have to get it replaced, no other choice. This is really annoying on part of samsung, thinking to change the brand.
I might have a fix! I experienced this crackling noise with the headphone jack too. Then found a thread where people were knocking their phones against their knees - and apparently solving the problem.
For me it was just as good to remove the battery cover and applying a bit of pressure front to back over the headphone connector.
I have to repeat this every couple of months but that is it. You can do it while the unit is on and the music is playing, to hear the effect. Hope this helps you too.

Got s10 plus on UK ee network exynos,..been flashing updates through Odin, and have noticed the volume of the earpiece speaker is lower than when I first got the device , so people think is a hardware problem or could it be the software/ firmware , on later ase7 firmware ..
It's probably just in your head no offense
If you flash back to the one that you thought had a louder earpiece volume?
Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
I think it might just be false assumption.. when I bought this phone new.. I could hear it so loud.. enough that I didnt put it on 100 % volume but with time I felt the volume to be lower.. it takes approx 2 weeks for humans to adjust to new situations.. so that might be the case.. overall I feel the volume to be quite the same as new one even on latest update.
I understand that but I mean a significant difference in volume between bottom speaker and top speaker , earpiece speaker is very low compared to bottom speaker , don't get the stereo feel anymore , when covering bottom speaker sound is very very low coming out earpiece speaker
Did you try if turning dolby atmos on or off make any changes ?
Yea , seems to be hardware problem as can Hardly hear on phone calls too plus tried a side by side comparison with a mates at work and my earpiece is definitely lower
Did you happen to install a glass screen protector with the loca glue? Got some in my earpiece, took some small gauge wire to clean the grill out.
Better take it to an ASC and get it checked then. If you damage some hardware inside your warranty will be void.
Like I said flash back to the firmware that didnt have the issue and report back. Have you? Comical.
