Can Someone make a tutorial about how to make an android build using sources, i've searched and hadn't found anything interesting!
a lot of people(including me!) want to participate in the port project but they don't know where to start!
i got some advanced skills on linux and i want to start dev builds especially after the end of the exams and the start of holidays
thanks
Hello everyone,
G3 is becoming an excellent phone to use with all the development going on...
I see that we have people from everywhere in the world, and many people would like to use ROM's with BASE ROM's from their region...So i with others have decided to make a collection of ROM's with different bases...It will be basically something like my collection but with different base roms, kernels and themes and stuff...
What we require is a team of people.the different work that can be done is:
ROM Development
Kernel Development
Theme Development/Porting
BootAnimation Development/Porting
Android Application Development
If you feel you up for any of the above let us know...
The List of People already involved are as follows:
dharamg3
Stylooo
aarrun
RafayelG
dypmy
cdesai
peldax
"Reserved for later" LOL
nice idea
this would make g3 a gr8 device
all gr8 features on all base roms
good thing to do
Hello all,
We are in need of "Theme porters" and "Android Dev".
If you are interested, PM me or just reply on this thread.

hello I m free nowaday so want to learn some porting and cooking Roms btw I m noways developer if any one guides me would surely appreciate it!!
and is it possible to port salsa sense on froyo?
Ok, let's learn porting and cooking roms.
1. check this tutorial.
2. post in the right section.
3. look here.
4. say thanks.
or, download salsasense by JieeHD which is a mature powerful stable rom already running on the hero and make modifications from there.
since, technically, you can't actually "build" android when many parts of the OS have been removed and replaced with precompiled executable code by HTC, as is the case with that rom.
but still, if you want to modify a rom, and give credit to the original author, for sense roms it is much easier to start with someone else's hard work than to do it all from scratch yourself.
but for learning, I admire your interest. Hopefully you can become a strong dev for the hero!
Hey guys,
I want to start making ROMs for the NC, but I don't really know where to start. How would I make the ROM work with the Nook, and how would I then fix all the bugs, etc? If any of the Nookie devs could respond with where (or how) they learned to make ROMs, that would be great. I really want to start becoming part of the development community, and learning about how Android works.

You can check over my thread down in cyanogenMod on how to get started on building your own KANG ROM project for your nook color. I added lots of information in that thread and all of the tools you need to get started. I also go over on how to debug your builds somewhat, I need to update that thread.
Make sure you have tons of time and commitment before you get started, I also have a few reference books in that thread also you will need to read on how linux kernels work.
We are trying to keep a lid on wildcat KANG builders for the nook color at the moment with those wanting to publish KANG JB builds, as others posting KANG builds without further work in debugging those builds leads to sloppy builds for everyone, so when you are ready check with the top developers with the nook color up in IRC at #nookcolor at freenode.net. Lots of new developers lack the skills and knowledge to debug their builds, yet can get a build up and running on their device.
Anyway here is the link I started for new developers interested in building android builds for the nook color and other android devices. http://forum.cyanogenmod.org/topic/50994-follow-along-with-me-trying-to-learn-how-to-code/
anybody else???
Some XDA members and I am working on a CyanogenMod-based Android firmware, AlterOS. It is my sincere request to everyone here to join is in the creation of this firmware. The reason I'm posting here is because I've been active on this forum and have contributed a bit.

Hello
I can help by giving some innovative features thought . something like Sony have done. Like stamina mod, xperia theme engine, HTC blink feed, Samsung multi window. Can't help with code.
Sure. We'd love feedback from you and others, but the above incentives are for developers only.
Can we make a OEM rom Sony?
We have kernel sources. ROM related stuff we have xperia e3 stock ROM. Will it possible to port xperia kernel from xperia e3.

He's not talking about porting.............He means build a new ROM from scratch.............With CM as the base
I would recommend a rom name, Boost Rom. Don't know if it has been taken on not. And have the ability for themes as well? I don't know much code but I would like to be of help:0?Of course dev's only but I have some good ideas and I want to learn code. I have started to learn already and I have android studio. So what do you think. Could I give ideas and try to help on not?:|
Good luck anyway:~) Of coarse I will have to learn the basics. But if not I will still hit the thanks button:0 I have always wanted to make roms and be part of something as big as this, please
