Sound not working anymore! (Only through headset)

Hi everybody,
my wizard (with faria crossbow) is suddenly acting strange:
I plugged in my headset and listened to some music with media player, while i stopped listening received a call..
I've plugged out the headset but.... there's no sound coming out of the phone any more! Sound is only working through the headset... any help??
(I've tried adjusting the volume, resetting etc... without success!)
Could be mechanical damage to the headphones jack.
Try fixing it by putting a match there to unlock it.
sorry but what do you mean with: "by putting a match there to unlock it" ?
Try inserting and removing the headphone jack a few times, perhaps the contacts area bit bent and are shorting out.
well i've tried that.. doesn't work..
well suddenly after removing en inserting the jack a phew time the sound is working again... really strange but thx everbody
okeay this is really some mechinal flaw.. but its really annoying!!
While im calling and talking through the normal mic sometimes sound+mic stops working (and so the phone thinks theres a headset plugged in).
I know there is something inside the headphone jack that is not working correctly but I don't know what..
Is there a way to open the phone and fix this problem?
These things are great ! Dropped it on its head more than a few times and it still works !! Thanks to the xda-developer community for saving me having to get a new one !!
it was the headphones ;}

HELP: my jasjar is dying!!!

Hi all,
today i forgot my charger so the battery was 44% full and i used the mobile for a long phone call and after im done the battery was 36% after a while i wanted to make another phone call and the battery was 29% the phone was in flight-mode without any reason...
then i did restart the device but it didnt turn on....
this is not the problem...
after i went back home and did recharge the phone now the speakers and the microphone doesn't work i did HARD RESET THE PHONE AND NO USE!!!
Help me pleaaaaaaaaase!!!
i found the solution and here it is in case anyone faced the same problem...
if you were using a normal headset and after you plugged it out the sound started to break apart then do the following:
1-turn your media player on and start playing any audio file while volume is at MAX...
2-try to plug it in first and then test if the sound comes out of the headset normally...
3-then plug the heasdset out of the device (not all of it keep some of the jack inside the headset hole) do that in slow motion....yes...in slow motion and try to focus in making the sound goes out of the headset and the device at the sametime....
4-if you managed to make the sound BLOWS OUT from the speakers then the problem is because you plugged out the headset too quickly which generated a shock (actually i dont know if that's the accurate definition)
5- try to twist the headset jack left and right and plug it out gentely while the sound is still going out of the speakers...
and thats it...

[Q] Repair or Disable headphone jack

Hey,
I've got a problem with my headphone jack on the top...
Even though there's nothing in it, it "believes" a cable is plugged in and thus of course outputs all sound to the empty jack and not to the speakers
Is there any way to repair it or disable the jack completely?
Thanks in advance,
Xenon O
I had the same problem. I was already thinking of a hard reset. But after about 1.5 a 2 hours my phone suddenly reconized that the headset was plugged out. (try'd about 100 times in and out) and my phone went beeping the whole time. Now it works fine.

Solution to the hissing sound on G3

I am using sony XBA-H3 , which has two kind of lines
one is with mic, four channel plug. Another is without mic, three channel plug
this solution is just for three channel plug headphones
Everything you need to do is play your music first, and then plug in your headphone which has three channel plug
the phone will detect as audio out put bet headphone(look at the small icon on the notification bar)
and then, you will find that
AMAZINGLY, THE HISSING SOUND DISAPPEARED
So, i think the issue might come from some audio process for headphone only?
But, at least, we finally got a way to listen to music on our G3
edit
you need to plug your headphone very slowly that it could be identified as audio out put

Use USB-C Headphones?

I got my Mate 9 Pro wet on a run a few weeks ago, I dried it out pretty well, however every time I plug headphones in now, it screws up a bit, thinks headphones are still plugged in, this lasts for a few days then returns to normal!
Of course while it thinks headphones are still plugged in it sends all audio to the headphone socket, so calls etc have no sound. (I've installed SoundAbout which is pretty good, I can enable and disable sound to the headphone socket with a widget button.)
I'd rather avoid doing this and simply switch to USB-C headphones.
I bought a USB-C headphone adapter, but the phone doesn't recognise it.
Any ideas how I can get the phone to send audio to a USB-C headphone adapter? SoundAbout has an option that says it send audio to the USB, but it doesn't!
