i am using dhd icecold sandwich 8.0 . can anyone help how to make outgoing call waiting work ? or what i can do ?
Outgoing call waiting? What exactly do you mean? Incoming call waiting can be enabled in Phone-Settings-Additional Settings

outgoing callwaiting
outgoing callwaiting means when you call someone arlready talking with other ,it gives you notification "callwaiting"
That depends on the phone network. It's not related to the phone. If they've enabled call waiting on their phone, then when you call usually it says 'your call is waiting' or 'the person you have called is on another call'. It varies from network to network.

I'm on Litening Rom with Speedmod Kernel.
Anyone else have this issue? or is it a network issue usually?

Anyone else notice that outgoing Google Voice calls do not display properly in the call log? They all show as calls to the local Google Voice call routing service. Never had this problem with any other phone. Must be some limitation of the Touch Whiz interface. Anyone have a solution? This sucks.
It's something specific to this phone. I don't think the SII has this problem. Since the SIII is a popular phone hopefully Google sorts this out for the next update. For now I'm just saving the bridge number too since it's unique to the outgoing number.
It makes me super sad. I want to cry and shave my head.

Google Voice will properly list calls in the call log if you use the AOKP rom for the att SGS 3 by Task650 & Ktoonesz. not sure if this is a GVoice or a Samsung TW thing, but it's disappointing for me. i use my GV number all the time... hope a fix is coming soon!
I noticed as well. It doesn't really bother me because the call connects properly and shows up correctly in the call log. My droid incredible running CM7 did the same thing so I'm use to it.

so your verizon sgs 3 shows the number dialed in your call log vs. the Google Voice bridge number?
Yes. It shows the correct number in my call log. The only time I see the other number is in the voice notification as you call.

Hi, I know there are many Tablet SMS applications, but I want to know is there a way to make calls from your N7?
Preferably using my normal contract phone number, so people know its me.
Im sure I've seen it somewhere on the web on a video I saw, but havent a clue what it was called.
Im from the UK so no US only apps please.
Much appreciated.
You mean by Sim or by Wifi? If sim, impossible.

No I mean a little bit like TabletTalk, where it connects to your phone for example.
I don't mind whether its VoIP or whatever, I just want to be able to make a call from my Nexus7, that uses my phones number.
IVE SEEN IT on a Video which makes it even more annoying.

Tablet talk will allow you to answer calls as well you just need a bluetooth headset connected to your actual phone, it works in the same sense as the sms you phone is still the one connecting you are just controlling your phone with the N7

Thanks for your reply mate,
On the Video I saw it was using some sort of VoIP and used the N7's mic, no bluetooth mic needed.
I know that the connection goes through the phone which is fine, as how else would it get the number etc, but I don't want to buy a bluetooth headset.
It may have been GrooveIP but I think thats US only any UK alternatives?
THANKS !
EDIT - It was GrooveIP, what is the difference between GrooveIP and tablet talk?
As tablet talk is made by an XDA user and would love to support them rather than a company.
I've used groove IP on my phone and it does work in Canada but the sound can be glitchy. You have to sign in through Google to set it up, haven't tried it on nexus though.

It is possible to call from SIM if you have a N7 with 3G.
Some Internet providers have also an Internet+Voice option that you can enable. With a specific rom or application that can pop dialer I am pretty sure that you can make calls with your Internet/Voice SIM. I didn't activate the option but I did activate an Internet + Messages option and sending / receiving them work like a charm. I'm pretty sure with a Voice subscription you can do that too, but do keep in mind, if you have a SIM slot.

It is US only because of the laws that GrooveIP must follow. It is the same reason Google Voice is so hard to deal with, because Google provides it for free but has to dodge some laws here and there. Google may require payment after 2013 (they have secure 2013 as free, though).
If you have Galaxy Note 8 WiFi version, you can actually set it up to make phone calls. In the video you can see how easy it is to make your Galaxy Note 8 WiFi version to place calls to landline or any phone numbers. It won't replace your mobile phone, but you can see that you can use your Galaxy Note 8 as a backup to making calls.

Cool!!! I would only use it as as backup, but nevertheless, cool!!!

I'm more interested in receiving calls. Will it do that? How does this differ from using Skype or google voice?
you recieve calls via your google voice phone number; thats how grooveip handles phone calls, incoming and outgoing..
