Hi
I am currently on DARKSIDE CM7.2.0 rc1 and was experiencing quick battery loss during calls. So I decided to update the radio but after following the instructions and flashing few radios I am still stuck on boot logo.
Following are details of Bootloader
GLACIER PVT ENG S-OFF
HBOOT-0.85.2007
MICROP-0429
RADIO-26.03.02.26_M
eMMC-boot
Oct 11 2010,12:44:14
I tried following radios
http://www.androidinsomnia.com/r-and-r/
Download: 12.28b.60.140e_26.03.02.26 - T-Mobile MyTouch 4G
Download: 12.58.60.25_26.11.04.03
Download: 12.62.60.27_26.13.04.19
Can anybody suggest how to fix this. I hope I haven't bricked the phone.
Thanks.
Flash 2.2.1 PD15IMG.zip. If you get a failed-PU update, you're bricked.
Issue fixed
Actually after the Radio update some how access to cache partition was not available. I booted in to recovery from ADB and got an alert regarding formatting cache.
So to be on safer side I formatted all partition except SD and restored it from my ROM backup.
For past 30 mins my heart was in my mouth and I was already planning to buy Galaxy S3 but I guess Glacier is quite robust and with such a wonderful developer community it has a long way to go.
Thanks for responding.

hey guys, i've got an original mytouch 3g and am having some issues with any froyo roms i flash. i always do a full wipe and repartition my sd card before a flash. after a few hours of use, if i reboot my phone it always boot loops and i end up having to nand back. its an endless cycle and i cant figure out why the phone would run fine and then with normal use bootloop after a reboot. i've tried biff mod versions, cm 6 stable, and a few others but the exact same problem with all of them. any help would be greatly appreciated! im using a 2gb kingston sd card if that matters.

You dont need S-ON, you can try ArsADroid or if you tried it did it bootloop?
i've never heard of ArsADroid i googled it but didnt really get any good info. If my SD card was messed up somehow would that cause the rom to not boot up? i did format my SD card on my laptop (not the quick format) and that seemed to really help but now CM 6.1.0 just reboots every few hours but it always comes back on.
Go to the magic development section and you will find a lot of froyo roms and search the forum not google

i think i fixed it. i put my sd card in my laptop and formatted it (not a quick format) i've done this a couple of times with quick format but always had the same problem. the regular format seems to have worked. its been 2 days and my phone still boots up every time. im running biffmod v2.1 (leaving on a jet plain) its really stable, fast, and with the the blue revo theme, it looks awesome!!! thanks for helping me out guys i appreciate it.
So I've had this issue for about a week now. Seemingly randomly, my 3G/H stopped working right. It would not get a downlink connection at all. The up arrow lights, but down arrow does not. I have had a very similar problem before on my G2, but it was because I was not on the right data plan. T-mo assures me I am on the right plan now, but I am having the issue on my MT4G. I am on RoyalGinger 2.0 right now, but have also used Evil's Sense 3.0 ROM with the same result. Putting my SIM into another phone makes the issue go away. And when I switch to 2G, the phone works fine, the down arrow lights up like normal. SO basically, right now my phone ONLY works in 2G mode. Anyone ever heard of this on the MT4G? I have heard chatter about this being like a weird known issue, but no one else I know has this issue, and my SIM in another phone works fine. Do you think if I loaded the stock ROM and unrooted it would reset or something? I do not have a warranty since I bought this on CL and this is making me crazy.
what radio are you on, and also are you doing a full wipe and clear cache/dalvik?

I don't know where to look to find out exactly what "radio" I am using. But here is what is in my About Phone section. If the radio info is someplace else, please let me know where I can find it.
As for whether I do a full wipe, absolutely. I do wipe data, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, format system, format data, format cache and even accidentally format SD card once... That blew actually.... Cause I didn't have a backup and I lost all my backups and pics and such.... Anyway, if you can glean any info from this, let me know. If I need to get you more info, let me know. Thanks for the reply.
Edit: Dumbass moment... Sorry, I just realized I knew where to find my radio info. Serious brain fart. Here's what my bootloader says:

Try updating the radio for fusion rom, you can get in the stickies for android development. The newer radio is 26.09.04.26, and use hboot to install update or adb.
Place .zip on sd/root

Wow dude.. I updated to the latest radio and I see 4G again and so far it seems to be working. That is fantastic, you get a thanks from me. I appreciate it. If it goes out in a day or so I will report back, but I hope this fix stays a fix. THANKS!
No problem man, glad it work

Just a friendly suggestion, when marking a thread as [SOLVED] you should post the solution to your problem in the OP. Glad you got everything worked out.
is there anything else i can do to flash roms still? or am i stuck on my icecoldsandwich backup forever?
Bootloader version?
how would one go about locating this?
Reboot. When your screen goes black and backlight on keys goes out hold down volume down to boot into bootloader. Write down the info displayed at the top of the screen and post it here.

Is bootloader even relevant here? Anyway, are you sure its the eMMC? Usually symptoms for bad emmc include lag and ending up with a shiny paperweight. Why domt you try reflashing cwr?

Yes it is relevant. Very. Ever since the HTCdev unlocked boot loader came about I've seen some weird things. By telling us what bootloader he has we know exactly what he is dealing with.

Engineering bootloader. So you should be good to flash another rom. Reflash CWM recovery using ROM manager, just in case there is sonething wonky with your recovery. Download your desired rom. Reboot into recovery. Make a backup. Go to mounts and storage. Format system and data, and wipe cache. Go back to main menu and hit wipe data/factory reset. Then install your rom.
If you have tried those steps before to no avail then.... I don't know.
Tried flashing cwm again through rom manager again. I was getting hopeful when I noticed the bootanimation was lasting longer then usual...then my heart sank when it froze.
Just to make sure I did it right
I reflashed cwm using the rom manager app
Formatted system data and cache under mounts and storage
Factory data and full wipe them cache and dalvik
Flashed the latest version of the ice cold sandwich rom
And then freeze..
No, that was pretty frickin thorough. Man.... what a drag. I don't get it. Does anyone have any ideas at all?
Flash a non ics Rom, that might be it

what if you tried flashing one of those RUU files at least to get hte phone back to stock.
You know where you hook your phone up to the computer and then run the .exe file from your computer?
I went through the process of rooting and doing the s-off thing to my wifes phone about a year ago. Then i got a new job and had to move and haven't had time to do anything else to her phone.
The phone won't accept OTA updates, i've tried using CWM to install a factory original Froyo but it won't go through with the update either. I have a Samsung Galaxy S 4g, that thing is a breeze to do anything too.
So i'm not sure where to go from here any help would be greatly appreciated.

i feel you are just flashing your roms wrong.
according to you hboot information you are just fine
go into recovery (seems you know how to just fine)
wipe everything (factory reset, wipe cache/wipe dalvik cache)
then flash this its a superwipe script then will insure a clean start

put it on your sd card along with this rom flash in recovery (update.zip)

this is one of the better roms for the g2

Hi,
I am having an issue with my phone where the phone keeps on boot looping. I have read the brick guide and I tried the solutions in there but I am still stuck with a boot loop.I managed to install clockwork and cm 7.2 on the phone but it still boot loops and it has the good emmc chip as well. I also flashed the pd15img in hboot it doesn't return any errors and still loops. Any help/direction would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Mine boot loops with just about every ICS rom except (so far) the new chameleon one. It does the thing where if I get an incoming text when I try to check it it restarts the phone, and after a few days it boot loops permanently. What I mean by that is I'll try to use the phone and it's in the rom's splash screen just looping and looping and doesn't stop until I turn off the phone.. So when that happens I have to hold the volume down, turn the phone on, and wait until the boot menu comes up.. Then go into recovery and wipe data, cache, dalvik, and flash a new rom and gapps. It really sucks because I love PACman rom's and they boot loop the most.
Oh also my phone kept not booting once because my back button got stuck down.. So check your buttons too? Hopefully something there helps. I'm still trying to find out why PACman rom's hate me! Good luck!
Everybody please read the op in the developer's roms they all tell you to wipe cache/dalvik this what I do when I install any rom I throws out all the bugs and gets the rom moving normally

That's not it.. I wipe my data, cache, and dalvik cache 3x before flashing a new ROM. I think the problem may have something to do with the kernel the devs are using because both Pacman and evervolv roms do it the worst, and I noticed Pacman is using evervolv's kernel. chameleons ROM doesn't restart or boot loop on me at all..
I had same problem. I installed 4EXT recovery and formatted everything ext 4 +full wipe. Then installed a different kernel other than stock. That solved all issues.

Had success with factory data reset
Hello. I had the boot loop problem and tried everything (even the wierd twisting thing which worked for others, not me). I ended up fixing the problem by using the factory data reset solution. This is done by holding the power and volume up button until the screen lights up with options. Then select the factory data reset option.
THIS WILL WIPE OUT EVERYTHING except whats on your SD card. So you'll have to redownload all your favortie apps. But i actually liked that new phone feeling after the reset. Hope this helps someone.
