Hey there!
Try installing the latest motorola drivers on your computer flash your desired sbf file using rsdlite.
Try using a cotton swab to clean out the interiors and try again.

done that, dont work ...
my computer wont read my defy from usb, any ideas what is the problem?

look for Auris post (seen it few days ago) how he took his defy apart and back (with pictures) after swimming ;-)

My Defy arrived with a British Froyo, it had the same problem: didn't connect via USB. I tried many things without any success. Two weeks later, I flashed another -Central European -Froyo, and that was the solution.

Yeah you could try taking it apart completely, drying it with a hair drier and try to flash again. May help..

Just keep hair dryer relatively far away, especially from the LCD screen, 'cause if you heat it up too much, you can damage it. I used my ATI HD5870 to dry phone out
My grapichs card is under constant heavy load of the GPU - 100% 24/7 and it produces heat between 67 and 70 degrees Celsius. So I placed my disassembled phone behind the PC at a distance of about 15 cm and it took about 8 hours to dry off... I also used a compressor before that to blow any water drops left inside (it took some noticably big water drops out).

my phone is dry 100% might be a problem with defy USB port, someone can give my the thread with the pictures that corrinti talked about?

may i get some help?

If you can't handle it, you can ship the phone to me - if it's not FUBR, I'll fix it for you and then ship it back. Where are you from?

Big voice talk problem and car mode notification

Ok so maybe I spoke too soon. Yesterday I was telling my brother that the Note is the most reliable phone I've ever owned.....then....
I started having issues with charging. My Note would not charge, then it would change after several resets. It would charge, then stop, then start again etc etc....making a lot of beeping noises.
Now, it seems to be charging, but Voice talk keeps loading, and I've turned off the home key activation option. I also get the notification icon saying to disable car mode.
I really hope someone can help, thanks in advance.
kris
Great, now it's not charging, again!
Actually when I get the notification issue from Voice talk, the battery starts charging for a second until the notification disappears and stops charging....
Now factory reset my phone again and charging worked while restarting and restoring but when loaded the voice talk app keeps coming up and going off, so I have a black flashing screen constantly....gonna try restarting/reset without restoring...
Hi leicashot, this shouldn't happen. Which firmware version are you currently running? I recommend installing the latest LB1 stock, unless you have AT&T Note.
Some users have reported similar symptoms when there was dust in the mini usb port. Try cleaning the device, and if all else fails, you should send it back to Samsung for repair.

I'm using the latest 2.6.35.7. Any idea how to try clean the port? Definitely seems like something is wrong with the port....
No charging issues for me but my Note started doing the driving mode thing at about 3am today and has been doing it on and off all day!
Exceedingly annoying!
are you trying to charge from a PC or a wall outlet?
I usually charge via mains but it wasn't charging or even plugged in at the time this started happening. It was just sitting on the table by my bed. I even powered it off but it switched itself back on!
Here is how to fix it.
Take out the battery and take a plastic edge like credit card or even a regular tiny small screwdriver and push the pins (strip) inside the phone. I mean, to take the screw driver and push in the pins back inside the phone, in inside the usb charging port. your problem will disappear. make sure your plastic flexible after-market phone cover has a big enough hole at the bottom to allow you to connect a usb cable easily to the phone, or else, cut open a bigger hole on the cover.
Good luck
so here it is again: you have to push in the usb port pins back inside the phone, straight in without bending them. you can also buy a usb charging port from ebay for 22 bucks and change it yourself in 10 minutes. its a hardware problem so stop resetting your phone.
Nop bro i dont think so, cuz it happened same with me sometime after i bought galaxy note same thing happened with me too. I mean exactly same. So before i didnt knew rooting and flashin roms and all so i gave to service centre and they put newer version of ron in it and my problem was fixed after that.

Indeed. I remain convinced this is not hardware and is software related. The main reason for my thoughts there are that as well as the driving mode thing it seems that some piece of software is trying to load up as it asks me if I want to run whatever it is in either Clock or TuneIn Radio. Bizarre. Also, the first time it happened it was bang on 3am. Everytime I turned the phone off it would come back on exactly two minutes later.
The second night it started doing it bang on 1am.
I'm waiting to see what time it starts tonight.
It doesn't (so far) do it at all during the day.
Going to give it a couple of days to see what happens then go figure out how to go back to a factory ROM rather than the the Rocket 22 I have on here now.

I've been having the same problem for a few days now.
I've just pushed the pins in with the corner of my charging cables connector and the problem stopped.
There was also a notification that flashed up saying something like: USB connector or device removed.
Voice talk is still managing to launch itself, even after pushing the pins in. I'm on stock LB2 so maybe I've finally found a reason to flash a GB rom?
Happened to me yesterday. Got a toothbrush and cleaned usb port on phone. Now seems ok

this method solve my problem.

need help possible brick hd2

had not used my hd2 in two months turned it on and it was just a white screen with no htc logo, couldnt get magldr... nothing. i was able to get splash screen so i decided to try flash back to windows 6.5 to start again, i tried sd card (leoimg.nbh) method which failed aster 10% or so .. so i tried pc method that failed after 1% , tried sd card again and again then it failed saying not allowed! when i went into bootloader mode it now says spl-1.42.0000 ... hspl is gone! still i cant flash winmo rom pc\sd method and hspl 2 keeps failing also,
If i boot the phone normally i just get a triangle
If anyone has any ideas how to get anything working on this please help
i have a tmobile UK phone
"Not allow" and "get triangle" and "hspl gone" tells us that a rom you tried to flash from SD card was not the correct rom for your phones region/carrier.
When you started the flash hspl was there so the checks were bypassed,,, next hspl was removed (spl is the first part to flash) then the flash restarts, but of course hspl is gone so the checks aren't bypassed so they fail and you get a triangle.
thanks for the reply, thats what a thought but where to go from here hspl2 just wont work iv tried the correct rom from htc for uk tmobile but it dont get past 0% , the first one was from xda and is indeed different, the problem is where to go from here? this must have happened to someone else, ive been trying to get this to work for two days now and searched a lot but cant seem to find anything that will flash... any ideas??
wooooohoooo ..... had nothing to loose so tried ruu \ pc method over and over and over finally it flashed win mo 6.5 ... man windows suck lol.
if anyone having this problem this is how i did it, tried flashing the ruu using pc, got same as before it just got stuck on 0% , dissconeted the cable then i got the dissconected error with "view document" and "recovery" options i then just followed the recovery options and it flashed winmo
hopefully this helps someone!!!
thats not a good sign. Failing failing failing then working, and also flashes hanging at around 8% - 10% (your first post) often point to radio failing and/or caused by / because of overheating hardware.
If flashing problems persist, try chilling teh phone for twenty minutes in the freezer (sim battery and sd out) and if it flashes ok when you take it out, its heat issues.

I would try to give better advice than just saying to put it in the freezer. I can't wait to hear someone reading this and doing it. Then pulling their phone out, connecting it, and seeing it go pop fizzle as the motherboard shorts out through all the condensation that got collected on it in the freezer.

have you not read around the hd2 section yet? there are hundreds of posts/threads talking about chilling the phone to get past a stuck flash.
Google 'xda hd2 freezer'
well....... im with you and this being hardware issue,
i did
task29
flashed radio
flashed maglder
flashed cwm 150
flashed rom (that needed 150)
all working ok for few hours put it in my pocket , then when i took it out i had a white screen
at least rebooting it i get android back. its out of warrenty now so i guess this is the end of the road for it, had this phone for over 2 years now and tbh its had a lot of stick, its had android on it from july 2010 when it was darkstone \ mattc days, i only brought it out of retirement coz me galaxy nexus is off for replacement (stock(hardware issue))
thanks for your input,
rip hd2!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've also read that in response to having the digitizer go dead and dropping the phone in water. Doesn't mean when giving the advice one shouldn't also give a few words of warning. Have you actually ever done this? I have. This advice has been around for years, and crops up across a variety of electronic devices. Try Googling "hard drive freezer fix" or "ipad freezer fix." Just because it shows up as hits on Google doesn't mean that the physics of the potential problems change.

ahh see now you're touching on the dilemma as to whether one should simply offer a suggestion, or whether one should always assume the reader is stupid and offer not only suggestions, but hand-hold the reader through the process. (an assumption i despise, BTW, why should everything be aimed at the lowest common denominator? If someone offered me a suggestion, i'd take their answer and read around the subject, if someone else chooses not to do that and just blindly leap into the unknown, based on a single response, that's their lookout)
Have you actually ever done this? I have.

I suspect that if you did the maths, you would find the moisture level of air in a freezer to be several times lower than , for example, the air in a sweaty pocket on a warm day, so the chances of condensation are pretty slim. Compared to all the other 'potential problems' this phone faces, condensation from being in the freezer is pretty low on the list.

Hi guys
I have a bit of a problem and maybe some of you can figure out whats wrong...
I have a bug on my phone that when is off the power still shows the charging icon (well its more like starts and then ends charging not always the charging icon).
The phone seems to be working well and i can't send it to repare... 1 month of waiting is a bit too much.
Now my real question is that on GB theres no intrusion on this but in the ICS its always showing a error message and i can't do a thing on the phone until i press ok.
Does anyone knows a way (by setings or by any program or even coding something) to remove this irritating notification?
Thanks and hope you guys give me ideas of how to fix this

It's annoying, I agree with you.
I suppose you have already asked people in your Rom thread for help? And no-one was able to provide any?
As a last resort, I'd go all the way back to rooted GB, then flashed LP1 Repack, then reflashed your current ICS Rom. It's a long way, but you're sure to get a clean start with no annoying notifications.
I'm not saying that you have to do it - that's just what I'd do.
Should you decide to follow this advice, this is how you can get back to GB safely:

Thanks for the quick reply but this is not a problem with bad ROM installation... What I wanted was a way to remove this notifications box in ICS, cause this problem I also have it in GB only in GB does not show up this stupid dialog box every 2 seconds...
Easy! Happened to me once!
Reboot in cwm and wipe: cache, dalvik cache, batterystats and reboot! Done!
This can happen when a new rom is installed.. so the batterystats becomes "corrupted" and starts to report wrong voltages and wrong temperatures.
I know the steps that i provided you will solve it!

Hmmmm it also happened to you??? And when the phone was off and unplugged did it also show the charging symbol?
I thought it is hardware related cause it assumes its charging even when its unplugged and also when I reverted back to GB stock Rom and a costum Rom...
I'll go try it now and report if it helped.
Thanks a lot man, hope it will fix it...
If the above advice doesn't correct your problem, try cleaning the USB port and contacts CAREFULLY. You may have some debris shorting out your contacts.
Do a search. People were reporting similar problems several months ago.
Good Luck!

That may be a solution... With what can I clean it? Alcohol it's good for that? I don't think that I have anything this small to fit it the usb port to clean it up... I'll manage something cause the earlier advise didn't seem to.help :S
Alcohol should work. But I would just try air first. That might clear out any "pocket dust" that may be in the port. Be careful...that port might be fragile!

As u sugested i've given a surch over the forum and i found that this is a too much normal issue to be let unknown to the responsables of Samsung not take care of this... I've seen different kind of work arounds since a replacement for the USB port (guess it's not's needed to replace the all mainboard to fix the USB port) to blow dry the phone. I'll try with a blow dryer but most of the users say that it didn't fixed it... Only opening the phone and cleaning it IP inside out. I'm not that at ease to opening my phone without breaking anything lololol so that i won't do, bit if USB ports are not to expensive and easy to install in a last resort i'll buy one and go see if there is a soul that knows how to do it
Thanks a lot for the help
I did replace my N900 micro USB port!
When i got my phone back it got a scratch in the screen! (not made by my friend)
Guess what?
The replacement of the micro usb port was made by a friend and the screen replacement was on Nokia and Nokia didn't saw it was opened by another person, and they said my warranty wasn't voided by anyone! (i didn't told them about the micro usb port of course)
But that's another story!
Hope you get it fixed!

[Q] Dead HTC HD2 (Why? Don't know - explanation inside)

Hi
I was playing an android game, can't remember wich one, when suddenly my HTC HD2 turned unresponsive (bloqued), so I removed the battery and powered it on again. When I did this, the bootloader opened but it seemed bloqued too, no android message, no bootloader opening, anything... And once again, I turned it off and powered on but now without any response, completly dead (Only a small vibration, diferent to the one when it power on. [equal like the one previous to the boot one, I don't know how to explain])... No charge led, no bootloader, no tricolor, but without any flash or something similar (Like most posts I have read)
Anyone knows how to fix it?
My htc is a HTC HD7 T-Mobile with MAGLDR (last version) and android 4.0.4 completly working before this
Thank you!
You mean you have an HD2 with MAGLDR, WP on NAND and ICS on SD, right?
First thing to check is the battery pins, easily bent after a battery pull. Make sure they are straight and make contact with the battery. Second thing, are you sure the battery has enough juice? It could be just an unfortunately-timed run out of juice.
If above is all checked, was the phone running hot (like .. HOT) prior to the freezing?
Thanks

Thanks for your answer!
Not sure of the battery juice, I will try to charge it with a broken USB, directly with the cable or with another battery.
Pins seems to be OK, but I don't know. When the phone turned off I was only playing a 2D game ,for no more than five minutes, so I don't belive that it might be hot.
Some unsuccessful attempts
Okey, i tried to charge the battery with the usb but it does not work, so I tried to boot the phone using directly a 3.5 batery (similar to the 3.7 Output of the battery) and it does not work too... The mobile is completly unresponsive, the same vibration in the begining but nothing later..
Thank you!

Well, this is weird. ................. I recall seeing a similar problem somewhere around here, but I don't know if it was fixed or not. Even if it were, I don't know how we're supposed to look for it.
You can try some basic stuff like :
- Changing the battery *try to use an HD2 one*
- Try removing the battery, sim and sd card. Leave them out for a few units time and put in the battery back and try it again.
You can try your luck and search the hd2 (you can use the link in my sig) fora with potential keywords..
.. I can't think of anything else ... I'm sorry.
More of it sounds like BGA failure. Did your phone got hot while playing games?
Also what settings on CPU were set?(freq and voltage)

I have already asked him about that and he said "When the phone turned off I was only playing a 2D game ,for no more than five minutes, so I don't belive that it might be hot."
One more thing you can try, put the device in a sealed bag and put it in the freezer for about ten minutes. Then try to boot it up into bootloader (boot up while holding volume down). If it boots, then it's 99% the infamous overheating issue.
Report back.

It is widely known that putting an HD2 with a faulty mainboard in a freezer for a few minutes will make it more likely to boot up (before it freezes or restarts again).
I don't know *why* this happens, I just know that it does. If you are not convinced, please do your own research
I do know how does BGA fail, and putting your phone in freezer WON'T do any good. It can only worsen the fate of phone, further damaging board or battery.
With all respect, don't give advice if you don't know what are you doing.
Anyway.
If you got warranty - RMA
If not, get infrared soldering station or look for one. Resoldering BGA(ball grid array-micro soldering points) on motherboard could help - CPU BGA tend to get loose sometimes. It's just the way it was designed.
Otherwise, if failed, replace mainboard.
That's it.

How can you be so sure it is faulty BGA as to start saying use this and use that?
I did not say the freezer will fix the problem, I just said it will help us identify it!
And to reply to the "won't do any good", here are two examples OF MANY:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=35436222&postcount=3113
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=35430928&postcount=3112
@op An advice: don't do any of the IR soldering mentioned above or even open the device until you are certain it's the mainboard.

And to reply to the "won't do any good", here are two examples OF MANY:

@op An advice: don't do any of the IR soldering mentioned above or even open the device until you are certain it's the mainboard.

First time it does not work, but I want to try it again
Thank you!

Because that's the symptoms of faulty BGA. System stop. Different vibration pattern and bootloader lockout. If memory failed, it's on motherboard. If CPU failed it's also on motherboard.

How in the world does freezing help identify motherboard fault? It's just nonsense.
Freezer trick can help identify BGA contact issues as the cooler temp contracts the CPU & can temporary cause the the solder points of the ball grid to contact and also keeps it cooler for longer sometimes allowing for longer run time or boot progress.
You are not freezing the device to -20 just simply quickly getting the device cool.
Done it myself to more than one hd2 & is a useful diagnostic prior to buying & swapping a mainboard or getting a current one reworked.
Okey, I tried again and nothing happened. I will call to HTC tomorrow and ask for a diagnostic (And price of repair...). I will coment it here as soon as I'll know something. Thank all of you for the help
hd7 ??
i thinks you wrong box this is HD2 General

My H990DS is stuck in Firmware Update (910K B50)

Hi, my phone is H990DS and is stuck in Firmware Update screen with error 910K B50.
I tried to flash first "H990ds10i" firmware and after the H990ds10c_00_OPEN_SG_DS_OP_1214.kdz firmware creating proper LG.dll files but my phone doesn't restart and it is stuck on Firmware Update screen.
I also tried to use LG Flash Tool 2014 but the program crashes all times..
How can I fix my phone?
Do you know what is my problem?
edit: LG Flash Tool 2014 doesn't close anymore but to about 10% in bar progress says me to contact the administrator
I don' t know if is it the worth to use ADB but I don't know anything about this..
Please help me...
I succeeded to use the Lg Flash Tool 2014 but I get the same Lg Up's outcome..

I have the same problem and I had tried nearly every thing but no benefit (unlock bootloader.. rooting .. dirtysanta...upgrading the android by LGup)
but finally I found the solution >> just by applying a spray or perfume on the site of charging plug and it work every time

Do you say for truth? Even if you use the battery of phone? I'll try it too....
Edit: well done my friend! Now that I've just arrived on my house I've tried to spray a parfume on charging plug and when I've plugged the charger I saw battery icon, then "Erasing" and now I'm in Android is upgrading!
I can't believe it!
Thank you a lot my friend and when you come in Italy you've a good pizza paid!

yes it is true >> it works for me >> I tried it with and without the removal of the battery >> try to power the phone directly after the application of the spray (while the site of the insertion of the charging plug still wet)

The issue is solved only partially because if you restart the phone it shows Firmware Update screen and only when you spray alcool into plug charger and you try many times plugging the charger that you can boot the phone fine.
Anyway I get many errors and I can't create sms and WhatsApp backups...
Anyway I think that it's a hardware failure...

My one is AME. I have the same problem and the hand sanitizer fixes the problem for temporary amazingly.

What causes this to work? I just tried this and it worked
How do you even figure something like this out? Insane.
First of all i didnt belive it at all but after flashing and reading 2days give it a try. Procedure is simple put usb type c cable in some alchohole connect chager in wall and connect phone and voila erasing and restarting thanks everybody on this trade.
This is one of the strangest technical things ever happened to me and I'm an engineer - the spraying works! After many hours of trying to solve the problem in whatever way offered or conceived I said what the hell let's spary. I suspect that maybe the spraying shortcuts the connectors or adjacent circuit for a short time and makes some effect otherwise I have no logical explanation to the fact that it works.

I wonder how did you find about this. Not having the issue, just interested.
Lol! I have an LG tablet that was stuck on 910k b0 firmware update screen. Tried 3 shots of hand sanitizer spray, did the shut down with POWER + Volume down button for 5 seconds, plugged back the power, and now it is charging properly. Either the connection was dirty, either the battery was so dead, i dont care, the spray worked... I thought it was a joke but i was so desperate that i tried it. Thanks for posting that solution !
Just made an account on this random ass website (I've actually seen it before but I have no care to be here...) to say thanks and that this trick worked for me.
I left my phone outside in the cold and I came back to this exact error. In WTF mode i searched it on google and found this post. This worked. Not exactly sure what's going on here lmao. My battery is dead though I am charging it now, I suspect this is part of the reason why.
I am a regular person and this random trick actually worked. What are you smoking LG?????
