[Q] Where do they sell Blade II? - Blade General

Hi, this seems like a good place to ask.
I'm thinking of buying Blade II. However, the thing they sell here as Blade II[1] is 1 Ghz ARMv7 Snapdragon 7227A, while the thing that is usually discussed around as Orange San Francisco II and Blade II is what is called ZTE Crescend which is 800 Mhz AMRv6 Snapdragon 7227T.
Now what I want to ask is this. The original Blade was kind of a cult classic, and was greatly supported in AOSP community. But now that Orange San Francisco and Blade diverged, and everyone seems to be talking about the ARMv6 version, I'm not so sure, and saying that I'd be unhappy with just ZTE ROMs would be an understatement.
So, are they going to sell it somewhere else than here, the proper Blade II? Is there going to be a modding community similar to the original Blade? What do you think?
Thanks in advance.

[2] pdaadb: ZTE Crescend

I think it's been on sale in Japan for a while. I guess it'll need to be sold cheap in the UK to be a popular modding phone, it's not sold here (yet?). The 800mhz ARMv6 version isn't a big upgrade from the original blade, they shouldn't have bothered. If they could've supplied the ARMv7 Blade 2 as the San Francisco 2 / T-mobile Vivacity in the UK before last Christmas, it'd have been a winner. Now it's too late, they've lost this race, hopefully they can release something special before next Christmas.
You should be able to pick up 2nd hand high end phones from around 2 years ago for not much more & they're probably better. I bought a 2nd hand Samsung i9000, it has flawless CM9 & everything else I want in a smartphone.

the Blade II they are selling is the real blade II(1ghz armv7,a lot better than armv6) while the zte crescent is actually zte Blade S(not II) which has 800mhz armv6 processor.
So go for Blade II(arm v7 1 ghz processor) as its lot better than
crescent(blade S) as blade II has a newer fater and more supported processor(more apps will work on it).

[Q]ZTE Blade or Samsung Galaxy 3 i5800?

I need some help choosing one of those two phones. This will be my first android phone so i don't want to spend too much money as i am a windows mobile fan. My options are:
1)ZTE Blade. 159 euros from a different provider than the one i have (phones are unlocked by default here so that wont be a problem) so i will have to pay the full price. It has an lcd screen and 256mb ram. I know that 512mb ram can be unlocked and i am comfortable with that sort of things but i don't want to do anything of the sort untill the official update to froyo 2.2.
Pros: Larger screen and big resolution. The 512mb ram that can be unlocked.
Cons: Battery and the lack of an official service center in my city. For the official upgrade to greek froyo 2.2 I will have to take it back to the shop i will buy it from because it will not be done over the internet. Very high SAR value.
2)Samsung Galaxy 3 (i5800). 159 euros by my provider, and since i will renew my contract for another year, i will have a discount of 67 euros, which makes it 92euros. (Otherwise i would have to settle for a 5 euro discount to my bill every month). It has an lcd screen and 256mb ram as well.
Pros:Better battery and price. Official service center in my city. Low SAR value. Easy to upgrade officially over the internet.
Cons: Nothing can be done about the 256mb ram. Smaller screen and resolution.

Blade runs stock Android...
... so it is more likely to have future unofficial updates for it. Samsung phones have some Samsung customizations and Samsung usually drops support for its models under two years.
I am not sure if there is 2.2 or 2.3 unofficially available to Blade yet.
Yes, tere are unofficial 2. 2 roms for Blade and if rumor is real we should get official 2. 2 in some time.

Galaxy already got an official update. I don't want to get unofficial updates for some time for waranty reasons. But both have unofficial updates.
What bothers me most is the sar levels on the blade (too high) and the battery, but i am also annoyed by the small resolution of galaxy. However i'm leaning mostly towards galaxy
i'm thinking of getting a zte blade but i currently have a htc diamond, does anyone think it's worth the extra £30 (after selling old phone), comparing the specs they look similar?

Hmm...:
RAM/ROM: 192MB/512MB -> 512/512
320x480, 3.2" -> 480x800, 3.5"

Oh diamond I read magic.
Diamond is win mobile right?
IN sweden Telia and Comviq has official says that Blade gets 2.2 in about 1-2 weeks.

X1 for ZTE Blade [SWAP]

Hey there, I have a new ZTE Blade/Orange San Francisco, barely used just rooted with bland CM7 Stable on it. I've owned the phone a few months, never really had chance to use it due to me owning a nexus s.
Its a great phone as I'm sure many of you have read around the forums, I haven't posted photos yet as I'm sure you all know what cm7 on a ZTE Blade/Orange San Francisco looks like.
I'de rather swap than sell, just talk to me about your offers, only condition is that they be in a good condition.
More details can be given just ask, thanks.
Loc: YORK UK ENGLAND
You can do an almost strait swop in CEX (I did) Dunno why you would want to though, apart from the flash and keyboard the blade piddles over an x1 in every respect.

Broken Blade Looking For Parts

Today i had an accident with my blade i slammed it in the car door by mistake, i did not notice that it fell from my pocket. The parts i am looking for are the following
1) OLED Screen + Digitizer
2) Zte Blade house casing
3) Battery
4) front button (home, menu , back)
For now i will be running around with a HTC Desire although the performance of this phone is much better than the blades i would still prefer to use my blade over this htc so if anyone knows where i could find the parts i need feel free to post and please no dealxtreme when i buy from them i always end up with missing items lol
Very sorry to hear about your Blade buddy. You can maybe check member found deals in the Xda marketplace. Recently I saw a thread regarding a new OLED screen in that sub forum.

ZTE Blade S6 All You Need To Know

Hello,
today I want to introduce the new smartphone from ZTE.
It's the ZTE Blade S6.
The main specs are a 5inch 720p Display, 2gb Ram and 16gb Rom and the storage is expandable. It is a DualSim phone (Nano simcard) with DualStandby and supports 4G LTE, too.
It comes with the brand new Snapdragon 615 (MSM8939) octacore processor clocked at 1,5GHz and the 64bit technology.
As you can see on the pictures below it is very thin with only 7,7mm and has small bezels around the screen. The back of the phone looks similar to the iPhone 6 with a 13mpx shooter from Sony (IMX214), a led flash, the ZTE branding and the loudspeaker. On the right side there is the volume rocker and the power button. On the other side are the sim trays and the place where you can put the micro SD-card inside. The USB-charging port is on the bottom and the 3,5mm headphone jack on top of the phone.
The overall look is very clean with round edges and handy sizes.
On the front of the phone you can see the 5inch HD Display and a blue homebutton you maybe already know from other ZTE devices like the Nubia Z5S, Z7 or ZTE V5. The front camera has 5mpx and should be perfect for some selfies.
The phone also supports some Smart Sense, which lets you launch apps like the music player or flashlight with gestures like flicking your wrist.
Very special is that the ZTE Blade S6 comes with Android 5.0 Lollipop and ZTE's own MiFavor 3.0 UI. The Google PlayStore is pre installed and it supports multilanguage. You can order the phone in two colors (silver, matte pink).
mod edit: Advertising for 3rd party vendors is against XDA rules

Please check out the attached pictures of the ZTE Blade S6 in both colors silver and matte pink.
I will get one phone in the next 1-2 weeks and then I will write a full review of this phone, so stay tuned.
Update: Gearbest has sent me a new coupon code that I would like to share with you.
Code: ZTES6JY
-> Blade S6 costs 214,99$ with shipping from Germany. So it is very interesting for the customers from Europe because they don't have to pay taxes.
Iphone Look Alike
Looks Like iPhone.Well, after sales support is my only concern .
I really like the design, too and the specs look very nice. The Snapdragon 615 should have enough power and an HD screen is enough for 5inch. I hope that the battery will last a whole day or even a bit more.
I don't have any experience with after sale support, so I can't tell you something about it but ZTE is a nig brand and so I think there won't be any production issues.
looking at the frequency this phone should work on the rogers network in canada right? Is it unlocked from the factory?
Yes, it comes definately unlocked but please check the network used by rogers by your own. I'm not an expert and don't want to say something wrong.
I have updated Post 1#.
From today on the phone will be sent out and I hope that I will receive my phone next week.
I'm also waiting for Blade S6...I payed it 263usd but today you can get it for 249 on AliExpress... if there is any root guide, please share...
As posted above you can get it with an coupon code from gearbest for 234$, which I think is a good price for a Snapdragon phone from a big brand.
They dont sell to north america in this sale..
I thought they would sell worldwide.

Now is Chinese New Year and probably they will ship after New Year, I am still waiting for shipment details also
@naruto42 I get my phone from gearbest. The shop link is in post 1. My Blade S6 is at the moment stuck at the customer center in Germany. I hope that I will receive it this week.
I already got mine here in germany! Any ideas for gaining root?
Have you tried Framaroot?
yes, unfortunately its not working.
Tried: Framaroot, SRSRoot, Saferoot, iRoot, OneClickRoot, Eroot, Root Kit.
OneClickRoot submitted some data, maybe they can work something out?!
I will try to root it if I receive my phone. I have googled for ZTE Blade S6 root and the result was an instruction to Eroot.
