LP8 - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 General

is LP8 safe as for transfering huge data will get me a brick and is it safe for a full wipe

No one has tried to reset the phone on LP8 yet. Perhaps you can try it and let us know.

Plz avoid wiping at the moment...

I did wipe using code and stock recovery. Fingers crossed, no issue till now. Done at least 10 time.

I cant get PC odin to do anything it ALWAYS fails with this note. It works just fine on the AT&T one

One question before I root.

On every device I've owned so far I wait for a method to fully unroot the device is out just in case.
That being said, is there a method to fully unroot and reset the flash counter (similar to the note 2) to 0 or for it not to show that a custom rom/recovery has been flashed?

Yes there are a few ways. You could install the complete stock tar which will wipe everything out including data. You could uninstall root using supersu and Odin the stock recovery. You could install team sextapes full stock with no data wipe to go back to stock without losing data. That is a few but there is more.

Hmm so after those methods it wouldn't show up as if I ever flashed anything in download mode?
I ask because in case anything happens to my device and I need to exchange it

Correct. Odin is the easiest option. And since you would be exchanging it the full stock tar with data wipe is perfect. Just make a backup first.

Stuck on downloading screen.

First off I have searched, and came up with nothing. I am on MF3, and did a factory reset and now my S4 is stuck on downloading screen. Anyone know a way to fix this. Any help is appreciated.
Are you rooted? When download mode comes up have you cancelled, vol down?
No lost my root on firmware update.. it doesnt give that option. It just says
could not do normal boot.

Have you tried kies? Some have reported that that has worked for them.
Mine does the same thing it will not boot into recovery you have to boot power+home+volume down then press volume down again to cancel and it should reboot from there fine

Did you have a custom recovery ie. Twrp?
I had rooted my wife's gs4 mdl but only rooted she wouldn't let me do anything else, I however had twrp custom recovery and when the ota update of mf3 we both lost root but I lost the ability to factory reset where she did not when I try it goes into Odin mode and I have to do what I stated before to reboot, hers however was able to factory reset no prob

Nexus 7 lagging after update 4.4.2

Hi guys sorry if the thread already post before. My nexus has 4.4.2 rooted and already install twrp. I play game a lot on my nexus 7. But after upgrading to newest ota feel so lag when i try to play shadow gun dead zone. Is there any way how to fix it. I thought it was my wifi problem but when i switch to my old motorola phone it works like a charm.
Thanks in advance
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
Go into recovery and wipe dalvik and cache.
If that doesn't work, a backup of your apps to your pc hard drive and then a factory reset usually helps, but do the dalvik wipe first so you don't have to reinstall your apps and see if that works first.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4
Thanks i will try to wipe it first and see if this work.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
Did you try the wipe? Did it work?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Yes i finally wipe and somehow still lag. So bye2 to stock rom hehehhe. I flash purity rom and wow no lag anymore, everything seem smooth as butter
Thanks
Sent from my MB855 using xda premium
But did the flash do a wipe of everything? If so, that's probably why. I'm on stock 4.4.2 and I don't have lag.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4
I wipe dalvik cache, and data. I m afraid to wipe system. I m not familiar with twrp. So only wipe does thing.
My nexus had a soft brick before when i update to ota and thats give me nightmare. So what would you suggest, do i have to wipe again dalvik, data system? Sorry for noob question but the lag just still there after on day flash from the rom.
Thanks

Have you tried a factory reset?
You can roll back to 4.1.2 if you want, but you have to use an efs v2 modem firmware. Any modem firmware from EMG4 and after.

This and I wouldn't suggest you to revert back also because 4.3 contains new drivers,so you will lose some good gaming performance.
Also, always wait a little. Every time you install a new firmware, you always have to wait at least 1 week and phone finally will get used to new firmware,so it will become stable.

Try a factory reset first.
Backup all of your important stuff from your internal storage > Factory reset > Transfer everything important back.
4.3 is a quite nice firmware for the S3, so a factory reset should clean things up a bit.
Can anyone explain backing up efs and then going back to 4.1.2.
Also if any risk is involved.

There is definitely a risk in downgrading as your efs partition might get corrupt.
I would say factory reset first.
I'm 100% sure 4.3 is better than 4.1 in terms of everything.
as i had heard the new bootloader from 4.3 does not allow to downgrade your device
so how can u now do it without rooting the device

If your phone is laggy after factory reset I would say flash the firmware again via ODIN and then do a factory reset.
Download your firmware from sammobile.com

its not that hard,u will get many threads on xda regarding how to root your phone
basically u will need a software called odin
through odin u will need to flash a recovery like twrp, cwm or philz touch
these recoveries are available on xda in zip files
after the process has been completed your phone will be rooted and at every boot u will see a red exclamation mark inside a triangle on the top left side of screen
just follow the steps properly and u will do it safely
good luck

Yes it does, I downgraded from 4.3 to 4.1.2 just fine with odin.
I will never downgrade as 4.3 has new drivers and some new designs which I like (except settings).
is battery life and performance is still same/improve as 4.1.2 ????
