Upgrade

Hi all,
I just bought a new HTC Cruise or T4242 china model, and the guy who sell this to me told me that the phone has touchflo 3d and i assumed that all the applications that an original HTC would have.
Anyway, it has wm6.1 i tried to use the gps and simply the software does not run, i tried to install the footprints but aparently i supposed to upgrade the rom or something like that... I AM COMPLETELY NEW at this.
What i want is to have this phone working as an original or better, with all the htc software like gps, footprint, the touchflo 3d or whatever works, and take all advantage possible of having this device.
COULD ANYBODY PLEASE HELP ME TO FIND THE RIGHT ROM, SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS ABOUT HOW TO INSTALL IT (I dont have the knowledge, but i learn fast), AND ALL THE SOFTWARE RELATED...
Thanks in advance, i hope someone can really help me!!!
there is no rom upgrade available (yet), at least not from HTC.
something tells me that something went wrong during installation, because all of it should work.
only one thing: don't overestimate touchflo. it is not 3D i.m.o., maybe 2D....
mikekarim: Try to perform hard reset. Device will go into factory setting and everything must work then.
HTC T4242+ (I need support)
Hi All,
I also have bought an HTC T4242+ via the internet from China, and when I received the phone I found WM6.1 loaded in the phone and I have a problem with it as my voice is breaking or not hearable when I do a phone call!!! I asked many people and they told that I have to upgrade the ROM but infact, I found that there is no Boot Loader in the phone and did not know how to do that, I contacted my supplier who sent me a .rar file and he told me to open it to be UPR file and load it on the TFT card by a TFT card reader, then to press three buttons together, the power, Middle and green buttons until I see bar showing upgrading, then to restart the phone!!! I did all that many times but nothing happend, the bar showed no progress at all!!!! anybody can help to instruct me to how to upgrade the ROM..................??????????? I will appreciate your help guys
I'm afaraid that's one of the negative sides of the fake touch cruise, my friend... I had such fake iolite, I had to sell it because of this issue, and to buy the original.
Hi there, to format the tft card to fat, not fat 16, not fat 32
and try it out.
I hope it works.

Some keys don't work

Hello, I just got a second hand milestone 2 from internet. As it turns out, the q w e a d and x keys from the physical keyboard are not functioning at all. They don't feel different when I press them and they also don't respond if I press harder or anything. Could there be something wrong with the software? The pone has almost no scratches and looks and feels barely used.
Android: 2.3.4 (I think the official one?)
System version: 61.1.22.A953,Retail.en.GB
Does this mean my phone was sold in the UK, because it is in the Netherlands now..
Thank you in advance!
Update: sometimes they work for a minute or so. With an app to get key codes, the broken keys do not respond as well, so I'm afraid it's a hardware failure.. Also the key code tracker in cwm doesn't respond.
Update2: I was wondering if it could be a kernel issue, is that possible?
AW: Some keys don't work
seems like u use the stock gb rom.
system version is all right. no us model. gb is is the european one.
there are very often problems with hw keyboard at ms2. i sent mine to service (dat repair here in germany, don't know your service point in NL) 3 times. now it works since 4 month without problem.
try the following:
1. do a factory reset, to be sure that the software installation is clean. (in settings menue)
if this doesn't help
2. root your phone (there is a how to here in this forum) and install ms2debounce app from app store. use the settings as shown on the pics on play store.
if this doesn't solve your problem, u definitly have to send your phone to service.

My phone has been acting up. When I want to unlock the screen it won't let me drag the screen at all, even during usage the windows button/back button is not responsive.
Now some of the keyboard keys don't even respond.

It could be a bug associated with touch driver version, you could try loading a new rom or update the version you already have, you will need to read a bit before hand but once you get into it it really is easy, it depends which details you find in the tri-color screen and if you are ready to get HSPL or if you need to downgrade first and install custom rom etc. !!
if this doesn't help then it is probably in need of a replacement touch screen but knowing HTC never guaranteed to be perfect and bug free on a new screen, if you think it is still worth the effort, definitely worth buying 100% original HTC screen as opposed to the chinese crap !!

i am still using this phone among others and has always been a good solid phone for me, just updated with the NWA 7.8 rom which is in the development section, if you aren't worried about the phone anyway, there is no harm in having a go with custom roms !!!!
if you switch off the phone and then hold volume down button while switching on ( don't let go of the volume button ) it will take you to the tricolor screen, you will have written SPL, if you tell me that number, i can then tell you whether it will be the easy method or the slightly more involved method !!!

Touch screen isn't registering in some parts - any chance it's a software issue?

Hi,
The Z, S and settings key on the board aren't working on my girlfriend's phone any more. Any presses around that area in any app doesn't register either (ie it makes unlocking the phone tricky too)
She's running some custom ROM on 2.2. I have no idea what it is sorry and I'm not sure how to figure it out (it uses some HTC IME Mod for the keyboard if that helps) and I'm just wondering if it's worth losing all of her messages etc and the hassle of trying to install another custom ROM onto it? Or if it's very likely a hardware fault?
Thanks
Ty to test screen with some app like mobileuncle tools but i think that the problem is in hardware,..so repare it.

Few X Compact problems.

Hi, thanks in advance for reading this and possibly helping me out.
I've got few problems with my Xperia X Compact stock Oreo, probably new, but I bought it from other person, not a shop so I don't have any document for that.
After running it first time I had to upgrade it right from the bottom, Marshmallow, so mayby it was really new back then.
But lets get to the problems I have right now :
- When someones calling me and I have phone in my pocket, after pulling it out screen is maximally dim (had few phones, never with that super life hardening FEATURE..).
- - - - - phone only vibrates for like 2 seconds, at my loud work I often don't hear and feel phone ringing in my pocket.
- Accelerometer is absolutely not working, checked with inphone technical support program.
First two problems seem software ones or it's normal guys ?
Third is hardware one for sure, but without any document of purchase of the phone I'll have to give it to local phone service, right ? Sony will pee on me for sure.
I'm from country that suffered biggest defeat at this years World Cup.
34.4.a.2.70 thats the version i use, stable battery life and everything okey, try flashing this rom, and full reset
I have 34.4.A.2.50 and no new updates available, then almost same version like You and something's wrong.. I don't want to flash new ROMs except for Pie when it comes.
Edit. Rotation is surprisingly working again.. By doing nothing just creating new thread here.. Rest as it was..
