[Q] myMIUI v11 APP2SD not working - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hello everyone,
I have a Problem with the following ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1453418
It boots and Everything else but when i want to install a larger app e.g. the Facebook app it says to me that i have not enough free space on my phone but when i go to Settings it says that i have 195mb free space.
I have installed APP2SD with this Tutorial:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10509776&postcount=438
But it isnt working too.
Tested it with CLK and MAG same thing.
Can anyone help me please?

[Q] [HD2-nand]Low internal memory

Hi,
I recently installed some NAND android (i.e. miui 1.4.29) roms (magldr), they work perfectly. I also partitioned my sd card with 1GB ext3(also tried other values) and in my system info it says there is available a2sd+ memory. But on every rom and with every install I have a maximum of +-7.5MB internal memory space of which +-1.5MB is free to use. So if I install 1 app my memory is full and i can't read my sms messages etc.... Why do other users have 100MB+ free space? Is there a way to check where all that memory is being used? (overall?), At install I wiped my device fyi.
thanks in advance,
Jo

Are you flashing the correct cwm recovery that the Dev recommends in the [OP]?

can you tell us your device spec, magldr/clk/ partition size/flash.cfg etc
my guess is...you have EU HD2 and you flashed a 350> partition
did you install a radio that allows 576mb ram? I am not an expert but that is needed and there are several available. Also, post as many details about your phone and what you did so that the Developers have enough information to help you better.

this is an excellent guide I thought that it was stickied but I cant find it, just scroll until you find the guide. make sure you followed all the steps.
hope this helps.

If he hadn't, magldr wouldn't start, android wouldn't boot.

Whichever ROM you're using is extremely old, so it may have even been a known issue of that ROM (although I highly doubt that) but we need more information as Kamerius said. For the mobile network issue, have you checked that the APN settings are correct?
thanks for reply but...
Thanks to all who replied but as I am new I tell you how I proceeded
I installed active sync in my PC then I flash my HTC hd2 with HSPL4
Then I flash radio 2.15.50.14
Then magldr 113
Then android 2.3.2 all by DFT
Problems that I am facing are
When I insert SD card (on top of the phone)-message. Comes SD card safe to remove and when I try to mountt same message appear, and some times it says SD card is busy. But I tried new sd card and same problem appears
Second problem mobile is not sync up with PC.
Thanks please. Help

Well, can you link me to that ROM please? I wasn't aware that there were any ROMs by DFT outside of the Stock Desire one, so I'd like to see it (although it isn't necessary of course).
You're using an extremely old and outdated method of flashing anyway, everything nowadays is flashed via CWM. See this guide and start by using the wipe data thing in MAGLDR, then just skip to flashing CWM with the correct partition sizes etc. It might not necessarily solve your issue, but you might as well do it nonetheless.
Are you trying to insert the SD card after the phone has booted? Just leave it in the phone and turn it on, I don't see any reason it shouldn't work other than if it was a known bug of the ROM or if your SD card is the one with the issues.
I'm confused about your second issue. The OP says that your data connection isn't working (data being mobile network) but the second post says that it's the USB connection to the PC that isn't working? Which one is it? Or are both of them not working?

My suggestion - flash HSPL 2.08 - from what I heard it's much less buggy and I haven't heard anyone having issues with that.

That's fine, it just means it's an EU/International HD2 rather than a TMOUS. The only difference (spec-wise) is that it has 512Mb ROM rather than 1024Mb

HSPL4 means the package which is used to flash HSPL2.08, it's not a SPL version in itself. The highest SPL/HSPL version is 3.03.

Please, just read the guide I posted. Every single version of Android which is in the NAND Development section is 'fully compatible' with the HD2. If you don't do some more reading I refuse to help you, sorry.

There is no 'best ROM', it's all a matter of opinion. I prefer ICS ROMs such as NexusHD2 and IceCreamTosti because of the HWA capabilities, but you may not like them. It varies between each user. If you decide to flash one of these, you can create an EXT partition on your SD card and use the app Link2SD from the Play store to use that partition.

Did you follow the guide I linked fully? Including step number 2 - partition your storage card for a2sd ROMs? If so, then this is an EXT partition which you have created on your SD card with CWM. If you meant repartitioning the NAND with CWM (i.e. in your case flashing a 150Mb partition) then this is NOT on the SD card and isn't an SD EXT. However, since you have stated that the app App2sd works fine, I think you've done everything correctly. Congrats, you now have a fully functional Android HD2.
The ROM you chose (TyphooN) is a very good one, I used it myself as my standard ROM for the whole of 2011 and a bit of 2012 and it was absolutely great, but right now I personally feel that ICS ROMs are better. ICS is simply the latest version of Android (GB is Android 2.3, ICS is Android 4.0) and it's the best version of Android by far. As well as this, ICS ROMs have full Hardware acceleration. This basically means that games and videos will play a LOT faster on ICS than on GB.

[Q] "Low on Space"

Let me start by saying I've always ran AmeriCanAndroid from SD on my old HD2 (stock, with WM6.5). But that phone is nearing its demise so I bought another slightly used HD2.
The new HD2 had MAGLDR installed and was booting MIUI from NAND.
Because I've always used SD versions of Android ROMS, this whole MAGLDR and NAND thing is completely new to me. So I'm positive my answers might have been answered (many times) before but since I'm so new to this, I have no clue what to search for.
Anyway, I replaced the MIUI ROM on the HD2 with AmeriCanAndroid, made a complete backup of the old HD2 using Titanium Backup and started to restore it on the new HD2. After just a few apps, I was told my phone was "Low on Space". After some searching here and on Google, I found out that to increase storage space, you need to create an EXT3 partition on your SD card then use an app like S2E.
I created an EXT3 partition on the SD (using Minitool Partition Manager on Windows) and installed S2E. However, when I start S2E, all options to move data to the SD card are grayed out. If I click the (I) icon, it shows it doesn't find "SD-EXT".
If I go into File Manager, I can see a SD-EXT folder just fine.
So what am I doing wrong here?
I suggest to try Link2SD from Play market. It is really easy to use and has nice interface.
s2e, doesn't that only work on cm roms? american is aosp isn't it?
<hint>
line one of the s2e playstore page says
S2E works only with CyanogenMod7 and CyanogenMod9!
</hint>
go have a read, and find out what aokp, aosp and cm7/cm9/cm10 in the title of a rom means, and you'll have a much better chance of picking an a2sd script that works for you.
try the INT2EXT+ script from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1716124
works fine for me with NexusHD2 rom.

Bump on that, i use it with the [17.Sep.2012] NexusHD2-ICS-4.0.4-CM9-HWA V2.7 [NativeSD][tytung_HWA_r3.4] rom and it works perfectly.
Its very importatn that the Link2SD app is the first thing you install on your phone.
good luck!

I also use Tuytung's ICS..(most stable ROM)..But Link2SD always gave me issues of 'low memory'..and max 'extra space' I had was 90MB...
So I read the INT2EXT thread and did a fresh installation & immediately flashed the INT2EXT+ script, then installed all my apps..it works wonders...super speed, extremely large memory (200mb +) and no annoying "apps has been linked to sd" notifications..I have a 500mb sd-ext partition and about 90apps installed...Lemme attach some snapshots..
Hit the thanks button if I helped...and PM me for guidance..

in magldr set the sd card source folder to point to the /nativesd folder on the sd card, and set the default boot mode to ad sd. (yes, even though its booting from the ext partition, it finds the initial files in the folder on the sd fat32 partition).

You have to download the updates from the xda.
And regarding the applications, do u want to install them on the sd-ext partition?

I suppose u can move them manually to the sd-card, or select the directory for installation as the sd-card ( i think this is done in the play store settings, i dont really remember ). But why do you want to install apps in the sd-card?
I suggest u make an ext partition of your sd card. WARNING!: this will wipe ur sd card clean, make a backup!.
The advantage of making a ext partition is that when u use roms with A2SD support, the ext partition on ur SD CARD acts as internal memory. So u have sort of increased ur internal memory

Not noticed anyone else with this problem.
Have you tried another ROM? (use miui backup first)
If working on another rom then it is not your hardware at fault, it could be your partition size is too small. What is your install method, partition sizes, sd partition sizes and free space, phone type (eu or tmous), miui version, the more info you give, the better chance of a solution.

after installing 2.3.7 miui.. that time itself not working...

Have you tried enabling Auto-rotate in settings/complete settings/display?
If so, I can only think it is hardware.
You might want to install stock wm6.5 to see if it works on a different OS, take care if using tmous hd2 which radio comes with your wm6.5 rom.
