On my desire i had 50mb free memory, than i wanted to download an app with 10MB, but suddenly the download cancled. Now the 10MB waststed and i don't have the app!
My question: how i get the wasted memory back ?

I think it got stuck in the cache somewhere. Personally I'm not sure where it is, but you can try to clear the Play Store cache?
Oh and I used SD maid app to handle my cache files.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Xparent ICS Blue Tapatalk 2
The play store cache is empty :/
I downloaded sd maid, but it is only for SD. Or do i something wrong ?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA
Oh it isn't for SD only.
Sorry as I forgot to mention, it is a root app. The app can clean unnecessary files from the internal and external space. The pro version has more features with regards. But I hope for now this will do to clear up sufficient space for your installation.
As usual, proceed with caution as with any root app.

Thanks
I bought the pro version.
Thanks a lot for the solution !
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA
The app usually goes to cache/download or to data/local/download, or even to sdcard/.cache

Do you mean internal space available?

Yes

There's been a solution for this since a long time. Search Google and xda for 'App2sd+'. It's a patch that'll enable you to create a special partition on the SD card to move any app to it (all non-core apps, not just ones which are explicitly enabled). The easiest way to get this feature is to use the latest CyanogenMod 7.2 RC1 ROM. It has it included by default and you can enable it in Settings>CyanogenMod settings.
Sent from my Desire HD using xda premium
You can also use a guide from 3xeno, search in development section, thread is called custom mtd partitions. The only thing is that with sense roms you won't manage lot, but its great with customs like cm.

a2sd partition ext3 and fat32 partition on the SD card, can be solved with too little memory, the software will be stored in ext3 and fat32

I have need for speed installed and that's about it! I've 12 gb left and I was trying to install a apk for amazon market. I thought it was the apk that was faulty, so I downloaded a random app on the internet and it says that I need to delete stuff..
They don't install into your sd card, they install on your internal memory that's only about 5GB. Go to application settings and see if you can movie them to SD card.

dunno if they've changed it but normally theres a 2gb partition for apps and 12gb for storage. check if your 2gb partition is full. google recently changed things so that there is no longer a file size limit on what can be installed into the 2gb partition. so if one of the apps you've installed is particularly naughty, it couldve dumped a lot of data into the 2gb partition.
normally i find that shutting down and booting devices up again fixes the issue.

Try flashing Jelly blast again..
You can delete those apps which use more memory if you don't need them...

Hi there,
How do I move games to sd card? Tried to Need for speed which is over 1GB inn size. But when I pressed move to sd card, only few mb were moved. Can someone explain to me, how to do it properly.
Edit: it is not only Need for speed who do not want to move, but other games too.
Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk 2
That's because it only moves the app itself to the external sd card, not the data of the game.
For moving those files I'd recommend using foldermount. It does require root tho.
If you are already rooted however, you can find it at the playstore.

Most of the times it's either located at /storage/sdcard0/android/obb or at /storage/sdcard0/android/data.
You can use any file Explorer to look where the files are located.

Hi,
I will be receiving a galaxy S4 soon.
I need to know what would be the best option.
I am going to root & then either:
remove all bloatware using a no bloat or root uninstall app.
or
install a custom rom Doc Barebone possibly??
I would like to get as much space back as possible as I have heard that you only get around 9gb on a 16gb model.
Ideally I would like to keep (or reinstall with full functionality) the stock camera app.
I am not fussed about all of the touchwiz wizardry.
I also need to be able to install apps 2 sd card
& have live wallpapers & a music & video player
How much space is usable after a doc barebones rom install?
Apologies for all questions, coming back to android after a few years on iphone.
None of roms than I see opens more Space, you can move some apps to sd card.

I read that the Google play rom gives 12gb usable space as there is no bloatware & was considering it also. I thought the doc barebones may give slightly more.
Do all of the custom roms have app2sd functionality?
Can you install live wallpapers on the doc barebones rom?

Thanks for this , it looks like I will install doc barebones as it keeps the stock camera & if I can store apps on sd as well that will be great.
One more question, if installing a rom with no bloatware doesn't give more space, would it not be easier to just root & remove bloat ware from stock.
I'm a bit disappointed I thought I could have got some of the storage back. I read on another thread that Samsung have partitioned it so that 8-9gb is free regardless.
Read elsewhere that the google version of s4 has 12gb free.
Is there no way to completely wipe the phone & installation rom that gives you the same 12gb as the google edition..?
The apps to sd "feature" does not save you any appreciable space. You are far better off using a third party app to move the data to external sd and symlink back to the internal memory.

Reasons why people use Modified Stock ROMS is simply because the developers do a lot of editing as well as build.prop tweaks to insure Performance and Overall Stability.
Regardless of what TW Rom you use, you will have about 8.+ ----9Gb free space...
Don't Say Thanks. Hit IT LOL..
Hi.,
I have the i9505 version. I have rooted using Odin & now have su rights
I noticed that the docsbarebones rom is for the other galaxy.
Are there any roms that keep the stock camera & have apps 2 sd
Apologies noob
*** edit I have tried a few roms , but what I did was unrooted & loaded the german version of stock rom that has apps2sd then used auto root so I can remove bloat.
When I send an app 2 sd it sometimes says your device cannot move 2 sd card.
It still lets me do it though.
*** further edit. It isnt actually working.
Get error "/The_Device_does_not_have_a_real_primary_external_storage_or_the_primary_external_storage_is_emulated__Moving_app_to_SD_Function_my_not_be_supported"
What can I do to get apps2sd?
Does anyone know how to get app2sd on galaxy s4? It says its installing to sd card but its just writing it to internal.
I checked by installing a massive game, said it was all on sd, but when I uninstalled it gave me the space back internally.

Hi, none of the files ever get copied to the external sd card though. They end up in some sort of sd/emulated/0 folder.
They arent on the external sd card. Everything seems to get stored internally.

That's the way it is supposed to be. The apps to SD feature is such a waste of time, I wonder why anyone even bothers. Only a single small installation file is moved to your external. Everything else is left internally. That is by design. If you want actual app to SD functionality, you're going to have to use a third party app such as Folder Mount to get it.

I think link2sd can do it. I have had no luck though. I cant get it to recognise the second partition.
2 of my main reasons for getting this phone was ability to store apps on external sd & a good camera . They are both frustrating me now as I cant get any method to work for my sd storage & seemingly galaxy s4 has hardware limitation on camera functions my iPhone 4s could do.
