Wow, I've never seen someone so desperate for an answer that they've actually bumped their thread after TWO minutes.
The simplest way would be to just go to CWM, wipe data then flash the ROM again I guess. I assume that's what you want (effectively a factory reset), but you're making things confusing by saying just apps, sms, contacts etc. Surely this is the whole OS?!

seriously you only waited 2 minutes before asking again
and yea there is go into cwm and choose wipe data factory reset
simple as that

What Settings > Privacy > Factory data reset is there for, I ponder.

Lol that's what I was going to suggest at first but I remember reading that that just reboots the ROM for some reason. Meh, try it out I guess

my guess is, his going to sell/ give the phone to somebody
just do a Factory data reset & it will be as fresh as day....

Problem with CyanogenMod

I really need some assistance with some of the settings for CyanogenMod. I just got done flashing the ROM and everything went smoothly, but there seems to be a problem with my data/coverage. The phone is in roaming mode and I can't get the data to work. I have everything configured correctly I think, but I can't get the data connection to work. There is no indication that it is on even though I have it checked. So I can't get on the internet unless it's through WiFi and I can't send/receive picture messages since I have no data.
Would really appreciate some assistance since I really like this ROM but I'm paying for data and it seems I can't use it /:
Thanks for any advice

Sounds like you may not have done a full Wipe/Factory Reset, Wipe Cache and wipe dalvik cache before you flashed. You perform these steps from ClockworkMod recovery before you flash the ROM.
Another thing that could have happened is that you had the USB cable plugged in when you entered ClockworkMod to flash the new ROM. Once you copy the new ROM to your SD card you should unplug the USB cable and then reboot into ClockworkMod.

The bold is something that is so common and so miniscule that many users often overlook it but it can cause weird things to happen when flashing ROMs and other things...
Also, @OP dial *#*#4636#*#* then go to phone information and scroll down...what option do you have for "Set preferred network type"?

Anytime bud, just trying to help you The moral of the story was, I read your post and that was the first thing that came to mind and you got all salty, no problem though i understand you're frustrated. I would be to. As blake posted, did you happen to have your USB cable plugged in while you were booting into clockwork to flash your ROM and did you also clear cache, dalvik and data? I'll assume you cleared everything since you probably followed a tutorial verbatim on this site or some other site but the USB thing, while so small, can actually cause so many issues...no hard feelings bro
Also, please see above post for the preferred network type information...

I actually just downloaded the zip on my phone and moved it to the SD card with Astro, is this a problem? So I wasn't ever connected to a computer.
And I'm positive I did the full wipe.
The preferred network type says, WCDMA preferred

Yessir, that's what I've got as well...I'm assuming that you actually had service when you were on a non-cyanogenmod ROM?
1. Where did you download the ROM from? Was it from one of the links in attn1's thread?
- i.e. one of the two links supplied here?
2. If so...If I were you I would, redownload the ROM, move it out of your downloads folder (i.e. from /sdcard/downloads to /sdcard/) and wipe data, cache, dalvik and reflash...
3. Again, if I were you, and #2 didn't fix anything I would go back to a sense ROM and see if the problem is still existant. If it's not then idfk what to tell you LOL...but if it is then its probably hardware related...I would also flash BACK to the CM ROM after going back to the sense...
I know seems like a lot of stuff but if you're dedicated to having CM then you might just have to bear with the bs ;(

Why not flash a new stock rom onto it? That way you start truly fresh. Do a search for Flashtool or something like that or you could root and flash a custom rom onto your phone, it's simple and you will benefit alot from it!
first, I am sorry about your sister..
second, try install xrecovery or clockworkmod recovery
then, you may do factory reset by them

There you go! I'm sorry bout your sister, mate.
Do full wipe with xrecovery...

Wow. Your phone is hunted!!!
hehe...
I think more than what we realise is backed up to googles servers when we tick the option in the phone to backup settings...
(settings, privacy, backup my data to googles servers). I noticed something similar with my last factory reset..

Google backup and restore is haunting you.
oh thats ok then thanks !!

[Q] Factory Data reset issue

Just got an HD2 in trade for a Captivate. Tried the Cappy but loved my HD2.
Problem I am having is when I go into settings-privacy-factory data reset it does not clean out the previous owners Google account.
Anyone know how I can do this.?
Currently running Hyperdroid-CM7magldr-5.3.0-Jumping_Jaguar
Any assistance is highly appreciated.
Try it from recovery:
MAGLDR > 8. AD Recovery > Wipe Data/Factory Reset > Yes ...

Do a factory reset in your recovery of choice.

Just do a factory reset in Settings > Backup & reset > Factory data reset. This will just get rid of your personal data and go back to how the rom is in a clean install with no user customizations etc. Doesn't affect the rom itself.

See attached screenshot. It quite clearly tells you when you press factory reset it will remove everything from your internal storage.. it's not a 'soft brick'.
Hmm, and if i want to wipe everything and go stock (soon leaked 4.4 image) from custom rom - get clean device/ "fresh start" with 4.4?

For that use one of the toolkit and flash stock image. It will wipe everything and restore back to factory stock.
