Why not flash a new stock rom onto it? That way you start truly fresh. Do a search for Flashtool or something like that or you could root and flash a custom rom onto your phone, it's simple and you will benefit alot from it!
first, I am sorry about your sister..
second, try install xrecovery or clockworkmod recovery
then, you may do factory reset by them

There you go! I'm sorry bout your sister, mate.
Do full wipe with xrecovery...

Hello everyone
I've got a strange problem with the latest 2.2.1. The market is unfortunately stopped if i open him. I've got a replacement but i really want the normal app working. Why happens this and what should i do? Flash it again? Cause things like the clear cache and updates doesn't work.
thanks in advance
Maybe a hard reset, will work?
Joost
1) don't know how to do on 2.2.1
2) i don't think it should work, because it was after the last update and my friend has the same problem
Go in recovery. Wipe user data.

Ehm, maybe this sounds strange but i'm bricking my phone over now.
1) All the apps i instal (not with the market :S), are installing for a long, long time. After a few minutes if i start my phone and look in my launcher, there isn't a sing that the app is installed. And if i look in the settings, i see nothing.
2) The market doesn't work.
3) After i update my phone, my whole recovery was gone. So if i open fastboot or something i see a black screen.
So is there a way to get it reset? HELP ME!!
I think this needs a reflash.
Joost
My Bravo constantly gives me a " 'INFO' The update package is not available at this time" message. It is very annoying. I have 2.2 update and phone works great, other than the poor signal now. Also when I go to about phone > system updates, it says an update is currently being downloaded. But it's been like this for a week. Is there a way to clear cache or make this message go away. Sorry noob question but I did try searching this out before I posted.
MotoBravo, If you have not done a factory reset since you did the update that is the place to start.
Hey thanks for response. Stupid question but will the factory reset revert me back to 2.1 ?

No, but it will erase all your personal data/apps on your phone (your sd card will still have its data though).
Backup your contacts and apps first!
Well I'm backed up except for .apks , but they wont let me transfer. I'm in debug so dont know what the problem is . Damn I got old.

What did you use to backup? I recommend buying bandroidx's bootstrap recovery to back everything up, or getting titanium backup for just your apps
Yeah I had Titanium already so went that route. Did the hard reset and all is well. Close this baby .

Wow, I've never seen someone so desperate for an answer that they've actually bumped their thread after TWO minutes.
The simplest way would be to just go to CWM, wipe data then flash the ROM again I guess. I assume that's what you want (effectively a factory reset), but you're making things confusing by saying just apps, sms, contacts etc. Surely this is the whole OS?!

Lol that's what I was going to suggest at first but I remember reading that that just reboots the ROM for some reason. Meh, try it out I guess
my guess is, his going to sell/ give the phone to somebody
just do a Factory data reset & it will be as fresh as day....

Well, I will guess you are not rooted.
The pattern lock, in my opinion, should never be used. And I'll tell you why. It's only secure for stupid people. If a smart person stole you tab, first thing they would look for, is if they get adb access. If they don't, then the next thing, will be to wipe user data, install a stock rom, which will wipe out all this pattern lock nonsense, then sell the tab.
So, install, if an a500, a full stock update rom. Unfortunately, unless you have a backup. this will wipe most data from the tab.

Unfortunately, no. Which is what I stated earlier. This is why I don't use pattern lock.

you should always have this puppies rooted and have TB available

I completely disagree with MD. In the tablet world, there are probably more stupid people than smart, so I'd rather lose my tablet and all my data to the ether rather than have someone just be able to swipe to gain access to all my information. And why make it easier for the smart person?
Hi, sorry if this has been asked before but I have checked back 12 pages and have not found anything.
I have rooted and installed recovery on my N9005 but seem to have a problem with most Roms I have tried.....
I do a full wipe then try to install a ROM and I either get my phone rebooting back to recovery, a message saying that there has been an abnormal factory reset and to put my details into the Samsung account which I have not done yet to get past. On the one ROM that did boot up fine' the WiFi button would not come on.
Do I have to put in my details on the Roms that ask to get by?
Cheers.

Best thing is sign up for a Samsung account and when it asks you just sign in that should be it
I will try that.
Thanks.
I signed up for a Samsung account online but after I enter details on phone I get the message - processing failed. I can't get any further?

I made a backup with stock when I first rooted, I have just done what you said and the new ROM has upgraded.
Do you think I would be able to do a full wipe now that I have registered my account on this phone?
Thanks
