Has anybody tried it? Does it mean I can use this ROM to get Phone and 3G on T-Mobile's Galaxy Tab?
Would Camera work eventuall?
Thanks.
Think the 3G/Voice is most likely for the Euro Tab's only
Its all about TMobiles modem.bin, the specifically removed the voice function.
You may want to try Roto's modem switcher for TMobile, works fine for me.
G
I am new to Android device.
So, do you mean, 3G & Voice are all about modem.bin, not the Android OS? As long as nobody could find a solution for modembin, no matter which version of Android, we can't have 3G and Voice together on TMO's tab?
Anybody please explain the following terms:
1. Roto's Modem Switcher? Where is it? Which version of Android does it support?
2. What's JK5 Rom/Modem/RIL?
Does Portable HotSpot and Bluetooth headsets still work, when you guys using Roto's modem switcher?
Thanks.
I dont think it matter. What matters is that Tmobile actively blocking the full function of the Tab. They make it whether to e Voice+Edge or full 3G no voice. I have an International Europe Version, but I can not get it on Voice + 3G, even though I had flashed the Tab to run from 850-1700-2100 MHZ bands. It is the Firmware inside Modem.bin

Roto's Modem Switcher is an app that allows you to switch your tab from being Voice+Edge to 3G only and vice versa. It was developed by Roto. It is in the forum somewhere, you have to use Search.
JK5 is a European firm ware which was released on Nov 2010. When downloaded it is contained with Firm ware+modem+CSC in it.
Thank you for all those educations
Hi Team,
I'm from Colombia...
I bought a Samsung Galaxy Y Duos (S6102B), It Came with Gingerbread 2.3.6.
Version Kernel: 2.6.35.7 se.infra_AT_Sign_SEI-44 # 1.
Number of Compilation: GINGERBREAD.VJLC3.
*#1234#
PDA: S6102BVJLC3
PHONE: S6102BVJLC3
CSC: S6102BUUBLC2
What region does the firmware?
Where does this firmware?
I think that Samsung Galaxy Y Duos is very different to:
Samsung Galaxy Y (S5360)
Samsung Galaxy Y Pro (B5510)
Samsung Galaxy Y Pro Duos (B5512)
In Colombia the frequencies for WCDMA are 850MHz/1900MHz (like USA, Canada, Mexico, Chile, etc).
My GT-S6102B has preselected 900MHz/2100MHz Asian frequencies, and I need enable 850MHz/1900MHz for gain advantage of HSDPA (3.5G) data connections.

Could I use ODIN for update (wich file .OPS I doubt to use)?
According to ODIN (modem file option) how to change phone (modem or amss),tar.md5 file?
Could I unpacking zip (with firmware) specially for this model specifically, from samfirmware.com ? - (the zip has one only unextractable file)
Is It possible download files of Firmware from my mobile?
Thank you.
Jose Luis
Looks like your device is specifically tailored to Brazil, hence the B on S6102B and the weird frequencies.
I'm still investigating if the UMTS frequencies are software controlled or limited by hardware on a GT-S360L (currently supporting 850/1900 MHz UMTS, my goal is getting 850/2100 MHz).
I will let you know if I advance more.
Hi Jose Luis,
What you are reporting is weird as the GT-S6102 is supposed to be 900/2100 and the GT-S6102B is supposed to be 850/2100. I bought a GT-S6102B (exactly the same specs as yours: *#1234#, kernel, compilation) on Amazon.com 2 weeks ago. The HSDPA frequencies written on the box are 850/2100. Even if I live in Europe (frequency 2100), I especially bought my phone in the US to have the 850/2100 as I often travel in North America. I could not try yet if it works on 850MHz, but at least, it is written on the box.
Edit: I found this code *#*#197328640#*#* that seems to allow you to select the operating frequency. However, I didn't try it myself. Maybe somebody might confirm this?

Hi johnNavi,
I tried to changes frequency band using *#*#197328640#*#*, but the behavior is same;
Maybe you can change in the menu, selecting Frequencies for USA, but in functionality is not working.
I had a same case with GT-5670L(came with Gingerbread 2.3.4) -> updated to 2.3.6 for India, and the functionallity for operate in frequencies for America (Colombia Incluted) was damaged.
I needed to change only the file modem (phone) 2.3.6 to 2.3.4, not all Firmware.
Bye.
Hello,
to make it complete. I am from Germany stay in Argentina and have bored a S6102 from Russia.
Cards:
T-Mobile from germany (for phoning)
Moviestar from Argentina (for phoning and 3G)
Phone works fine, not like my HD2, but it works. Problem is, i cant use 3G (only Edge). could it be that i have the same problem with the frequency's?

Ok guys, here's the result:
I flashed the modem part of my device using data from a 5360B and toyed with it through *#197328640#, setting to only accept the 2100 MHz. So far so good, but I wasn't able to get any operator on my carrier lists.
The conclusion? Looks like software has some minor capabilities to lock down any unknown frequency, but the lack of right hardware is the major problem for us.

You must remember that Brazilian frequencies (850/2100) are different to Colombian (Chile, Argentina) frequencies (850/1900) for UMTS.
It's the test needed.

Hi Friend,
Sorry for asking you again, but I need to be secure for make changes in my phone.
I was reviewing in http://www.sammobile.com and I found that the S5630L Firmwares most complete would be Uruguay (850/1900/2100) and Venezuela (850/900/1800/1900) according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_UMTS_networks
Uruguay:
http://www.hotfile.com/dl/157180385/db1dcbc/S5360LVSLA1_S5360LTFGLA1_UFU.zip.html
Venezuela
http://www.hotfile.com/dl/150336037/1906c89/S5360LUHKJ2_S5360LUUBKJ1_VNO.zip.html
My questions
Would it be possible to change the S6102B (the modem firmware) version S5360L one?
If problems occur the change can be returned?
Thank you.
Best regards,
Jose Luis
Has anybody been able to make the s6102b pick the 850/1900 band by way of flashing new modem? Thanks

Anyone could solve the problem?
I have a S6102B in Argentina (Claro) and I only can get edge, I'm Using GingerIceJelly v2.0.RC2 with Compact Kernel.
Thanks in advance
Is there a way for checking the current frequency the phone is using?
Let say I've changed the frequencies with BaseBand Switcher and want to know if it did the job...
"Settings" -> "About??" (Is it named like this? I am using German ROM)
There you can see some informations about Kernel, Model, Android-Version and Baseband-Version.
Thanks but I'm looking for the actual frequencies not the baseband version. Baseband switcher change the frequencies but the BB version remain the same.
hi,
I am having data connectivity problems with my defy. It periodically loses data connectivity and even switching off and switching on of the data toggle isnt helping. I have to restart every time i have to connect to net and then eventually it again looses the connection after sometime. So i am wondering it might be some problem with my settings in base band switcher.Quarx Cm10 dont have india in the South east asia region. So can any one suggest the settings for india? Also if some one else also faced the same problem kindly suggest how you overcome it.
Thanx in advance.

How to select proper settings
Hello. After testing of this program I (and some of my acquaintances) have not doubt that basebandswitcher really changes frequencies. But I feel that this program is just additional unlocker of operator (or locations) at operating system level.
For example:
I and two my acquaintances live in Ukraine. Frequencies:
2G 900/1800
3G 2100
All devices has been flashed equally:
At first flashed sbf 4.5.1-134_DFP-10;
then flashed radio EPU93_U_00.61.00;
after getting root and installing last version official CM7.2, which used by default this baseband settings: central_europe_34x (it is equivalent Central Europe Hong Kong, Taiwan, Arabia, France, Nordic 3.4.x United Kingdom 4.5.1-85 900/2100MHz)
The first device (from central Europe) start to work correctly after choice Europe RT 3.4.2-145;
The second (from Poland, was locked under orange) began to work correctly after choice Poland Orange 3.4.2-131z
My device from the USA (was locked under t-mobile). It works only with US T-Mobile 3.4.2-107-4 or US T-Mobile 3.4.2-107-9.
So, 3 devices equally flashed and used at one country, but worked on a miscellaneous (depending on from where has been brought). After a choice of settings for the INITIAL OPERATOR OR LOCATION (instead of current basebands values of current region) devices began to behave equally.
Sorry for bad English
Hey guys, a few days ago I bought from ebay a used I9502. It came with SVA rom with android lolipop 5.0.1 preinstalled. I like the rom very much but i have a major issue. It is impossible to find my location using only wireless networks (wifi, 3g)(power saving mode). It can only find my location when using GPS and I am outdoors (high accuracy mode). I have tried to reset to factory but nothing changes.
Do you know what may cause this issue?
Thank you.
update
I have an update for those who might be interested.
I flashed the latest stock rom from sammobile to see if the problem continues. With the stock rom the location servicve works fine.
After a reseach I figured out that the SVA rom is missing "NetworkLocation" that's why it wont find my location using wireless networks.
The problem is that I discovered that the version of "NetworkLocation" I have, collects and sends data to Baidu(something like the chinese google). So I was wondering if any of you guys using an international lollipop Galaxy S4 would like to help me and send me his version of "NetworkLocations".
