I would like to request a forum for the care and feeding of the Asus Transformer TF300T:
http://amazon.com/Transformer-TF300-T-B1-BL-10-1-Inch-Tablet/dp/B007P4YAPK
The Asus Transformer TF300T is the first quad-core Android tablet that is widely available. Unlike its predecessor, the Prime, the TF300 is affordably priced and comes with ICS pre-installed. It will be a mainstay of the second generation of Android tablets.
There are few enough 2nd-gen Android tablets, that I think a forum for the TF300's discussion and development would be fruitful toward XDA's goal of advancing Android development as a whole. Asus has been among the foremost supporters of Android, and its tablet deserves a space here.
Thank you in advance for your consideration.
+1 for ASUS Transformer Pad TF300.
+1 for the TF300 specific forum. There's quite a few people over at the Prime's forum that have bought one, I will be getting mine soon (monday or tuesday). My guess is that in a week or so there will be a lot of people looking for ideas, help, root, tweaks, etc. for the TF300 (including me).

+1 mine shows up Monday

Well said.
Asus botched the HW by rushing it, and have already essentially announced its replacement. Sounds like they did the same with the ICS release also.
I bought an ASUS high-end laptop 4 or 5 years ago - it was not quite a 1st tier product; they cut too many corners. But to be honest, I barely missed Amazon's first pre-order; I'd have bought one if I could have (That early-adopter itch.....I was lucky in this case)
Thinking about Lenovo or Toshiba now, and giving the grandkids the Xoom with ICS; but will wait a couple of months until I see what is both hot and working in the tablet market.
Sad that Moto has no real new products at this point at least. Their problem, not mine.
Because their dev team is so much inferior to our EOS team and all Xoom Devs.
Remember what the Xoom was like when it first came out? Buggy, slow, and a browser that wouldn't stay running for more than 5mins.
No way the Xoom was ever that bad. It's like a train wreck over there. Not only the GPS, wifi, Bluetooth issues, also problems with touch screen and especially the display, which has developed very strong horizontal banding, mostly since the ICS upgrade Asus support sounds much less effective and concerned than Motorola.
I'm really glad I have a Xoom.

What about the end users? Does it serve them right that their $500 (or $600) tablet is now closer to totally unusable after the ICS update? As if their pre-ICS hardware issues weren't enough of a slap in the face. There is nothing "right" about their Transformer Primes having hardware and software issues and definitely nothing right about gloating about it. I'm not a Transformer Prime owner (I'm a proud fellow Xoom owner) but its not right to make fun of the situation. ASUS has nothing to lose other than positive mind share while their consumers are stuck with a very expensive paperweight.

I agree, it's a sad situation for the TF Prime owners. Hopefully they will get a fix for some of the most egregious problems very soon.

ASUS owes their Transformer Prime customers a HUGE sincere apology. Make that two: one for bad hardware design choices and one for a horrible software experience. For example, their solution for the poor GPS reception is to remove it as a listed feature for the Transformer Prime on their website? Nice one.
Anything not done right is not worth doing at all...
1. I'm glad I returned my Prime and picked up the Xoom. The Prime is now $400 in some spots and I'd still pick the Xoom over it.
2. Motorola is smart for doing the soak tests.
I was surprised to see a tf300 forum section on xda and not the a510. They were released arround the same time.

Perhaps the mod has a TF300
It does seem odd. The expectation is a lot of A510 units being pushed the week before the Olympics, during and afterwards. Acer will want to leverage their Olympics ad spend.

Good news, TF700 has cleared the FCC (engadget), Wifi-only for now.
So ... will you upgrade when she comes out ?
Can't you make it a simple Yes/No/Maybe poll? I can't vote for any of those - while I *will* be buying the TF700 when it's released, I do *not* trust Asus 100% and refuse to say so!
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk 2
How about adding a "wait and see" and "other (specify)" choices?
bacon
It will be either the TF700 or the Padphone for me, with the latter being my first choice.
But I will be waiting for some feedback and reports for both before I decide.
I do really like their hardware and they had excellent support with HC, it's just ICS that's made me sour. So I am looking forward to any devices actually built from scratch to support ICS. I will still take the wait-and-see approach, but I would be wary if Jellybean came out and Asus was rushing to be one of the first to get their hardware supported.
A little bittersweet for me.
Yea i have been waiting for this bad boy. Ill be waiting for at least a month after it comes out though. I want to make sure all the kinks are worked out in the initial shipments including hardware and software.

If I had the money (or a job!) I definitely would since I'm a gadget freak and love to have the newest tech toys, but I'll stick with the ol' TF101 since there's nothing wrong with it.

Will you Buy a TFT700
Yes I will
Has my experience with ASUS TF101 been 100% good? NO
But, more than ANY other company out there right now, ASUS has the hacker spirit, and I'm more prone to go in that direction than any other.

I plan to upgrade to a new tablet. I am not perfectly satisfied with my tf101 but no one else really makes a tablet with the same keyboard dock combo.

Asus will have to work hard for my money now, brushed aluminum and hd display will not be deal makers for me. I still don't see a boatload of apps for the Tegra 3 as promised by Nvidia. So I'm sitting this one out, maybe Win 8 has a surprise coming. We shall see.
If they unlock the bootloader and don't pull the Sbkv1-049-2150842502185 bs they did with this tab.. Of course!
Think this is very cool and a logical next step,I love my pc but preffer to use social media and other things like new feeds etc on android just a better UI than doing it on PC.

I don't think that's gonna be the end to the standard transformer arcitecture, but I can definitely seeing it selling some units. It is proof that Asus stiill has some innovative tricks up their sleeves though.

For me, the official ROM is extremely stable, much better than other devices like HTC or lower end crap.

I completely share your point in the sense that they should have offered 4.1 to their customers, however I can understand that from a business point of view, it wasn't worth the time and investment since most devices are out of warranty or very close to. So they would have to spend time and money building an OS not to support it; it doesn't make much sense.
There's also plenty of other companies that "abandoned" their customers, Asus are far from the exception - they are however high profile so people tend to notice more. The tf101 is their oldest model... then a whole 8 months for the Prime to come out. Even if you feel abandoned, this hardware is still full of potential and better than newer devices and :good: the community has awesome devs working to bring us the best.
I for one will not be looking into the AiO because I want my tablet to be portable, this kinda beats the purpose... I don't like traveling with my TV. But I'm interested to see what will be the next line of tablet-sized transformers.
I had Asus Pad 300 and now I bought Asus MemoPad 10. I have to say, I like it more than Asus 300.
I have 3 questions :
1) how to add this new tablet to forum menu? XDA needs to do it?I don't understand why is not there....?
2) could new 4.2.1 for Asus 300 work with Memopad
3) could screen protector for Asus 300 fit to MemoPad?Nothing at this moment on eBay yet...case,ect.

My question: why do you like the MemoPad 10 more than the tf300? (asking out of interest)
i had the same problem, too many questions. so i bought the tf300t one week ago and everything got answered
1) currently to few requests for a own memopad forum
2) NO don't do an update!
3) investigate the display size!

I like it more, because I never used keyboard No I like it more because of two speakers and little app for sound like : Movie/Music,Speech...I can lock the toolbar. The best thing is that they moved charger to the left,so I can use the tablet in the case while is charging. And it is micro USB not Asus conector...so I can use just one charger for Asus Memopad adn Nexus 4.

I've bought the memo pad and it's absolutely great for the price. as you said the audio from speaker it's really god, looks like even better than the macbook pro audio. About accessories I've found on ebay this keyboard case (search for: NEW Official ASUS MeMO Pad Smart 10 Key Folio Cover Case) and it looks very good, but to expensive.
I have a question tought: in battery settings I can't see the stats for every process and app I've used. Are you having this problem too?
EDIT: anyway I'm sorry for this tobe the first post.. I've forgot I haven't introduce myself in this forum. Doing it right now
Updated to 4.2.1 today and now I can see battery stats, as well the other upgrades that come with it.

No not every device is here. For example the samsung galaxy player 3.6 and 4.2 do not have their own forum and they have had a petition up for several months. There is just not enough development and activity for them to need their own forum. Same case with the memo pad 10.
Maybe you guys should try a petition.. you might have better luck =\

Does anyone tried to use 3g dongle with memopad? I have an Huawei e3131 but when I connect it to the tablet nothing happen. Someone can please give some more information about compatible 3g dongles with asus tablet?
maybe it is possible ask to a sub-forum here or open a official thread with (ME301T) here too
but the problem is the same: we must wait a dev who try to have root access, a dump or a copy of the stock rom/firmware and over these start to work any type of custom roms
without any developer on ME301T we only must wait
