Im using this ROM - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1441462 and all I can say is its bloody fantastic! Everything I have used on it is working very well (with the execption of the gallery, but I just use QuickPic instead) Gaming doesn't work too well (you can still play games) as HWA isnt currently working.
I havent tried any of the WP7 ROMs.
As for dual booting, I would just have one ROM on the SD card and one on the Phone.
Hope that helps answer a couple of you questions.

Okay, I'm going to answer these questions with two different personalities:

2- The kind xda-developer member:
1). Is Android fully functional including calling?
Yes, if you are going to use a non-sense gingerbread (cm7/miui)
2). Is Camera working (in android port) ? If yes which version ?
Yes, it is. In all versions of Android (On ICS, it might be a little buggy)
3). Are HD games running (in android port) ?
As far as the games I've tried, yes, they do.
4). Is the android port stable for daily usage ? If yes, which version ?
Yes, the following is stable for daily use:
1-Any froyo build
2- non-sense gingerbread
5). Is Wp7 port fully working ?
Yes it is.
6). Are the Windows Live services and XBox Live working ?
Yes, they are. But you are required to contact MS to get your activation code
7). Is it able to be unlocked for sideloading apps ?
Yes.
8). Is camera working (in wp7 port)?
Yes.
9). Is it able to dual boot WP7 and Android ?
Yes, it is possible. (There is a guide for it somewhere, just search and you'll find it)

The following is based on my experience, my very long experience with sense:
Sense's resources use too much ram, and tend to slow down the device. Sometimes I have to wait like 5-6 seconds to get it to open an app, flicking through screens is just slow (no matter how fast the OP says his rom is). Sense is just heavy, I've also heard that GB sense has incomplete HWA (which I doubt) but I thought I might tell you.
CM7, on the other hand, is lite. Very fast and fluid & it doesn't take that much of the RAM, leaving you with a plenty of Megabytes to run your apps/games.
For instance, if you tried running "Impossible Game" on a Sense ROM, you'll notice that it lags every 1.5 second. While on CM7, it barely even lags.
You can also notice the huge difference in size between a Sense ROM and a CM7 ROM (about 300mb to only 100mb)

Ok, thanks for the advice.
Now, can u suggest me the best way to install Android and WP7, and also suggest the best roms (latest and stable) respectively.
Also tell me, which is better "Installing NAND Android" or "Installing SD Android"

You were supposed to *coughs* .. search .. *coughs* .. the forums !
Here is the link : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=944288 on how to dualboot.
And I can't tell which ROM is best, each ROM has its features, you'll have to go through that yourself.
And I can't say which is better, on SD or NAND as I didn't really notice much difference. But I'm on NAND ATM.

Finally I purchased an HTC HD2. It is the TMOUS version.
As HD2 is not available in the market, I had to purchase a used one.
The previous user installed Android 2.2 Sense. I dunno much but about bootlaoder and all, but maybe its MAGLDR and also Cotulla is wriitten below it. I tried searching the forum but to no avail. Please can somebody direct me to some post which will guide me. I want maximum amount of space for my apps (in the current one its only about 40 mb), also i need to setup cache, partition size and all. I dunno much about these. any experienced HD2 user's help will be appreciated with a THANKS..!!
Please help.

Download HD2 NAND Toolkit, download it here. It will do all the partitioning you need to do being you use MAGLDR. Now the one I linked is not the most recent version, but it will do until you can go through the HD2 NAND Toolkit thread. Also click on the HD2 guide linked in my sig, it will probably do you some good plus it has s link to the toolkit thread along with links to some good guides for the HD2.

Thanx for the info, but I m already on nand android, will it work?

you could give those SD ROMs a try, it's much easier than you thought & you can try multiple version till you decide which one to keep.
If you partition or install anything "now" in your NAND it will erase all previous versions but radio & splash screen still remains.

You can use the Toolkit to partion how ever you want for using Android with MAGLDR. You will have to re install your Android ROM if you re partion, but hey if you are repartioning then you are probably preparing for a new ROM anyway. Once you re partition you have to re install whatever custom recovery you use. Then use the recovery to flash the ROM.
As for the SD card builds yeah you fan use them with MAGLDR and not lose the Android ROM you have in NAND now. They work really well, but I suggest you have a class 4 or higher.

Thanx everybody for helping me.
I have succesfull installed Nexus HD2 ICS ROM on NAND.
I wanted to ask that how will I know if my sdcard is compatible with WP7 roms ?
If I Upgrade my CWM 3.xx to 5.xx , do I have to repartition again and reinstall android ??

[Q] Android as primary OS

Hi all,
This has been asked a few months ago, before any working ported ROM.
Now that ported ROMs are working smoothly, which I think means there's no (serious) compatibility issue, why I can't just download one of Desire ROMs (stock or cooked), flash my HD2, and have Android as my primary OS?
Thanks.
Hosein
Well ive you'd read the forums, you would have found that devs are working very hard, to make an Android build on NAND.
NAND means that you can flash it to your internal memory, which will (correct me if im wrong) remove windows and install android as your main OS.
Pls dont ask when this will be possible, nobody knows, only that the devs are working very hard, and its expected to launch somewhere this month, or next month, but nothing is sure!
Gr.
If you read around the forums a little bit, you'd realise that the devs are getting/have got NAND working on the HD2.....
just be patient and it'll come out eventually....

You can't "just" download desire roms and flash because it's not the rom what is preventing the flashable android from working.
You need a bootloader that can boot that android rom from the hd2 hardware and also drivers and kernel suitable for hd2 are needed.
People are working on it and it is almost done. You just have to wait. AFAIK the bootloader is called MAGLDR and it is a replacement for the SPL/HSPL on your phone. It is capable of booting winmo 6.5, wp7 from internal memory and android/linux from internal memory or sd card.
But this is a work in progress. It is not released yet.

Hello, sorry to bother you, I've searched but can't seem to find a similar case to mine.
The USB port on my HD2 is damaged and I can't charge or sync at the moment. I'm running an Android Nand Build, have Magldr 1.13 and the Clockword Mod. I charge my batt externally if ur wondering.
What I'm asking is is there anyway possible to flash WinM7 onto my phone without using the USB port but via through SD card?
Thanks!

Simple answer is No as WP7 can only be flashed via Magldr using the usb cable. CWM is great but its only for use with Android and cant be used to flash anything else via SD Card which means you are limited to either Android or WinMo 6.5 but be aware that if you ever flash back to WinMo then you wont be able to get NAND Android back on your phone.
If the USB port really is damaged then the only thing you can do is to send it in for repair.

Mskip,
Are you going to do one of your tutorial guids for flashing win 7 on to the HD2 for us dummies?
Just wondering
Any chance we can condense the 'activation code' and 'chevron' threads into their own sub-forums or even a wiki? Trailing through the forums has become a little tedious from all the duplicate, reworded, posts.
Surely it would be better to have a wiki or single accurate thread for each with peoples findings inside those, easier to administer too. It could even be locked so no 'how do I do this' questions turn up amongst the instructions...perhaps with a replies thread stored separate to the instruction thread?
Just an idea, been here a few years now (previously under a different name) and agree with all the posts made by members and admins about spam posts and searching the forums, this would aid searching too.
Just an idea.

WM7 vs Gingerbread
Just Curious....Presently running Hyperdroid v12 on my HD2 and very happy, but compared to WM7? pros and cons, how easy to revert back to Hyperdroid?
I've seen a dual boot option somewhere...is this viable?

If you want to switch from one chef's WP7 build to another is it advised to flash WM6.5 build first or do a task29 or just fire up MAGLDR and do the business straight over the top?
Hi,
Great post thanks!
Am I idiot or the main tutorial is actually missing? That is how to install WP7 on my HD2(?)
Couldn't find anywhere a tutorial, except some Youtube videos...

Which OS to use?

Hey. I have some questions..
Im new in all of this an so pls forgive me if i ask something stupid
// I have an HD2 with 512MB Flash Memory / 576MB RAM
Im looking for an Android OS which runs stable, with good performance and if possible enough apps .. the battery life is not interesting for me.
So i hope, theres something out that fits my wishes
it would be nice if you could also link me the thread (or a video) where is exactly explained how to install the new os ( and of course a link where i can download the rom, if its not in the thread where it is explained how )
thank you

Other than that, just take your time and have a look through the NAND ROM section. Just open some that sound interesting to you from the titles and read the 1st post to see if it's what you want (Froyo or Gingerbread? Sense or no Sense?).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=928
I've not seen a ROM thread yet where the dev doesn't list what's working and what's not working, so you should be able to weigh it up yourself.
I only suggest you do this because there's no way I can tell you a good ROM. It's all subjective, and you're better knowing what options you have anyway, rather than me just giving you a link to the one I use and saying it's the best there is!
Good luck mate. If you get stuck on anything, read, read, read. If you really can't find help then you've found a very rare situation, so go ahead and ask.
Have fun
Thank you, that will help me for sure, but i have an other question.
What means "Sense or no Sense" ?
Do you know the HTC interface, HTC Sense? It's on the HD2 running WM by default, but also on Android HTC devices such as the Desire, Desire HD and Desire Z (to name but a few).
If you've never seen it it's worth a look. I personally don't use it as I prefer something more configurable, but a lot of people really rate it.
Here's a link to the Desire running Sense...

Hello,
I use a clean Android 2.3.2 and it works like a charm. 720p recording does not work, but it should be fixed in future. You can contact me via MSN or ICQ.. In german
Or you go to www.mobiletopia.de and you can read my Tutorial for flashing Android (http://mobiletopia.de/viewtopic.php?f=371&t=8275) if it is easier in german.
Im not exactly sure what it is, but i think that i like it.. so thank you very much .. I will give a try to the threads you posted above.
You're welcome mate. Good luck
You may also want to try one of the NAND builds, they replace Windows Mobile on your phone. I set up NexusHD2-Froyo V1.9b NAND for my girlfriend and she's reported no problems. It's been a few weeks now.
It runs very fast and stable.
Before you can install a NAND ROM, you will first need to install the MAGLDR. But it's all quite easy.

It's Android for the NAND of you HD2. That means that it will be installed in you phone memory.
An other option ist to install Android on your SD card and Windows Mobile is still on your device and you have to start Android from within Windows Mobile.
I think NAND is the better option, after you startet Android the first time you will never change back
P.S. i used a clean Android from the NAND-section fro Leo and it just works.

For the first time since 2007, i'm very disapointed, xda failed me!

I just bought a used euro HD2 because i tought that new phones on the market don't have what it takes to justify their 600€ price (sensation lacks gs II's power, gsII lacks sense).
Well i've been searching and reading for 6days at xda, tried over 5 SD roms and at least 10 NAND roms.
I'm starting to think that those hd2 forums, as deep as they can be, are a big FAKE.
My problems : no g-sensor and freezes while calling. I've tried a lot of fixes and tutorials and still nothing.
Also, the search thread tool is a real pain since it doesn't use the google search system anymore.
Now please, i'm everything but a noob and still i can't manage to find a solution to these problems. This is my last attempt for getting help. Can anyone link me to the solutions if they are obvious (or not).
Also i'd like to ask, is it REALLY possible to use a nand rom as a daily driver? I'm not looking for anything fancy, just some basic Froyo with htc sense.
Thanks in advance for anyone who at least reads this.
im not entirely sure why this is happening to you but my hd2 only lags on sense roms (because I have a euro hd2 and some system parts are installed to the sdcard). If you really want a sense rom and froyo then just install the stock desire rom. And yes NAND roms can easily be used as a daily driver (I see no reason to use a SD Rom unless u want to dual boot two different android roms).
IMO the best roms however are CM7 & MIUI roms with sense skins & widgets (which you can find if you search), they run so much faster than sense roms and use less system space (Hyperdroid CM7, Typhoons CM7, Any Miui Rom are some to look at). This is coming from a person whose HD2 has been dropped in water twice, with keypad lights than NEVER turn off. im not entirely sure why this is happening to you but my hd2 only lags on sense roms (because I have a euro hd2 and some system parts are installed to the sdcard).
If my HD2 can run roms fast without issue even though its been submerged in water (and definitely taken some damage) then surely yours can. I agree. I find the CM7 by boyppc, tyween, sokolik315; MyTouch by Motoman234; Stock DesireHD 1.1.18 by cmylxgo; NexusHD2-Gingerbread by Tytung ROMs the best. Any of these can be daily drivers and very reliable.
You can also put WP7 Mango or NoDo on your HD2 and have a superb experience.
I have flashed quite a few NAND Roms and have found a few to be disappointing but for the most part I have been really happy with a lot of the time and effort that these developers have put into there Roms. I am currently using Dungphps Sense 3.0 Pyramid Rom and it still has a few bugs but has only gotten better and better with each update

Also check out these following links. Mainly Angeldeath's Rom. I am waiting for his next and most likely final update (July 22nd) which should be nearly bug free and as up to date as possible

Hope this helps and don't give up yet
Thanks a lot guys for replying so fast, i'm amazed.
I will make a list of all the nand roms i've tried.
I'm also thankful for all those efforts developpers are putting into their works.
But my primary problems are freezes during calls and g-sensor issues. For the rest, i don't expect a "bug free" rom since i know that the HD2 wasn't made for android and that there are of course no official android roms for this device. Besides, everything else works fine with all the roms i've tried : smoothness, speed, market, camera, data, wifi, gps (since i've applied the recently releases gps fix by tytung)...
I had no call and g-sensor issues in wm6 and wp7.
Also what wonder is why do we have to modify the flash.conf file when mentionned while there are already 3 different packages (from 150mb to 400mb).
My config is: euro hd2 / spl 2.08/ radio 2.14/ mag ldr 1.13 (maybe it is radio dependent, but i also tried with 2.08 radio)
(True2you) Out of curiosity, what is your current Rom btw?
i just flashed coredroid (about 20mins ago) and still, same problems. Now i'm about to try
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=915159&highlight=stock+desire
LITE version
BTW I've already tried this method for the g-sensor

You should have no problems with the CMYLXGO Rom. I have used it in the past and it was great. Good luck!
nope, didn't work either. Still had call issues and g-sensor issues.
Now i went back to a stock wm rom just to make sure. I can confirm that it's not a harware issue, both phone and g-sensor (+ auto landscape) calibrating are working in WM6.5.
I'm really lost. I think that the problems are coming from somewhere else.
I'm through testing roms, as i said, they're all running just fine except for those two things. I'll try another approach. For example, i'll scan xda "entirely" to try and find g-sensor fixes and call freeze fixes.
But then again, every time i search the "g-sensor" term in rom or general threads, the results alwas show things about "proximity sensor"...
Just trying to troubleshoot.....
The G-sensor and call problems you are experiencing are very odd. I'm sure you have already done this but if you are using CWR to install Rom's, are you wiping all of the previous information like Data, cache, system, sd-ext, dalvik cache. I am just wondering if these problems could be caused by previous Rom's that were installed on your phone. I have used CMYLXGO's Rom and found very minor issues and the current Rom I am using (Dungphp Pyramid Sense 3.0 v1.4) has neither call or G-sensor issues anymore. Sorry for all of the trouble you seem to be dealing with....
Just to chip in on this thread some I use HyperDriod-CM7-v2.0.1 for my daily ROM and have been for some months now. Check out my sig for a link to it. I have also tested a great number of ROMs on my HD2 and they all seemed to work pretty good. I have even tested several MIUI ROMs and they would be good for a daily driver also. But as member Yerdan said it is strange you are having this issue.
I've tried most every rom Pre-Sense 3 and I've never experienced these problems, the only 'call' problems I've had is the Dialer process freezing sometimes when answering a call and that was fixed by flashing Raf 1.8 instead of using the 1.9OC that the roms came with...mic gain is also an issue on Android but http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=860850 fixes that issue. G-Sensor is something you're doing wrong, no offense.
Start from scratch, SD Flash an Official rom then go through the steps, flash hspl 2.08, Task 29, flash .50.14 radio, flash magldr, flash recovery (WITH THE APPROPRIATE SIZE FOR YOUR ROM) and then flash your rom; if all that is done correctly, it's a user/hardware issue, the only other problem you can run in to by starting fresh is not flashing the proper things, not flashing the proper sizes or not clearing out the proper data on your SD card (Android/Data folders and such on your SD card can cause it not to boot)

That brought to mind something about these Android ROMs on HD2...never calibrate the G-Sensor. If anyone does, lay if face down to calibrate it. Otherwise it will be funky if calibrated normally.

For the Coredroid. Don't download V3. Go for V1.6 Froyo. Best Rom, bug free to the point of only one issue that i know off, USB connection thingy, but on Pc you just click "Continue without Scanning."
But if that is what you have then, i Fails xD.

Just to clear things : Here are the steps i follow -
-stock wm6 flashing via "usb loader"
-panasonic sd formater (not every time)
-hspl 2.08 + radio (2.15.50.14) (not every time - only after stock rom)
-task 29 (not every time)
-magldr 1.13
-flashing recovery via magldr usb flasher option
-installing zip via sd card
What i never do (or don't get) is the switching of kernels. I'm guessing that it's already in the ROM's zip package and that it shouldn't be replaced because they're made to use as they are (my guess).
did you check to make sure you partitioned your sd correctly? also do you system partition correctly when going from 1 rom to the next? some ppl tend to skip over this so that could be a possible cause. i know there are a couple roms that if i take the sd card out while using it it wont reset my phone so maybe you could test to see if maybe something is going on with your sd card. i think Bluetopia HD found here is 1 if im not mistaken.
im not sure how you would have the same problem with so many different roms but i can say bluetopia is practically bug free. I haven't came across any as of yet.
if you want a easier list to look for android roms listed on xda go here.
to check how you partitioned your sd and fix it if needed you can use this free tool by going here.
Ok for the record of the OP
1. Did you buy a used HD2
if Yes
There are numerous threads complaining that the G sensor ( and by extension the other sensors ) DO NOT work ONLY on Android after a touch screen replacement.
They work PERFECTLY on WINMO
Perhaps thats your ISSUE...

IF NO and your is a NEW Device get it fixed By HTC
IF your is a USED device and does not have a Touch Screen replacement...
lets continue with the discussion
just how has xda failed you?

First of all sire, I would say BALLS TO YOU. Having said that, I cant help but imagine your idiocy and laugh on people like you.
1) There are already numerous threads on what all is not working, You should have done your Homework before getting a 2 year old device then running free software made by people who have a life of their own and then Complaining on their face.
2) If you want perfect experience, go to WM6.5 and vent your anger at HTC support.
3) No matter what or how painful it is to search, you must do so. Failing to do so just expresses your idiocy and how much of a noob you are.
4) Having less than 200 posts and just a single thanks, i suggest you quit xda forums as you are of no use to us. And we don't owe you anything.
5) The best Sense froyo rom i found is from Qaliza Desire HD v3.0 with some tweaks from v4.0 (Figure it out yourself, SEARCH) which works no prob on my EU LEO.
I hope you will go through the following video and learn a thing or two:
XDA hasnt failed me. but maybe it may be a problem with magldr. i used maglr over and over again and i faced alot of problems my phone would freeze to the point of having to pull the battery. Gettting bootloops when watching youtube and i get an incoming call, but my solution was CLK. i used kay's hd2 toolkit and now im on clk with no problems. i switch roms alot not cause im not satisfied but because i like customization. the best rom in my opinion is Tytungs NexusHD2 gingerbread rom, but also i used Hyperdroid 2.1.0 HoneyBadger, and langthangs MIUIROM. Just read all the directions before proceeding and find the right Rom for you. PEACE

[Q] NOR vs NAND

Hi , I have HD2 and I want to install android OS on it. I found a lot of solutions on this website like booting from SD Card and NAND solutions, but I have one question. Is there any NOR version installation and in general which is better NOR or NAND ? Sorry for this maybe general question but I need help and I would also wanted to consult with you . Thanks , every help is appreciated.
Hi there mate.!
Never heard anything about the NOR version that you are talking sorry
There are 2 ways to install Android OS in your device and they are posted in sub-forums in here and i think you have already saw them
The SD version is if you don't want to leave wm6.5 but wanna give Android a try!
(thats the easiest way to install it)
And the NAND version if you have decided that you want Android OS in your mobile and ofc Android will have much better performance in NAND than SD
PS: my opinion is if you don't want mw6.5 anymore go read some posts and install the NAND version cause you will have much much more performance
I hope i helped
there are no nor versions, you on about running a version in ram ?
Hi and thanks for a quick reply and more than helpful answers. I need to ask you several more things. Since I want to install NAND version, because of the performance, I need the latest version . I saw several instructions for 2.2 and 2.3 android. Can you give me the link to the 2.3 newest installation link. Also is there any known issue after installation (like no wireless network, or some applications doesn't work...)
best off looking in the dev section, depends on whether you want a sense rom or not

As Richy said there are sooo many roms for you to try
The 2.3.5 rom for me is the most stable if you want your phone to work 100% 24/7 with no battery consume!
Now its up to you if you want Sense 2.2 or 3 if you want MIUI or Gingerbeard or or or or or
For me it goes like this :
1:Go to NAND sub-forum
2: Find a good and updated Rom for your mobile (at the front of each title its the release day) enter it and read the full description the dev gives you and to all the steps!!!!
3: for correct use of your wifi,gps,etc.....find a good kernel (Most devs gives you a kernel of their choise with their ROM)
Thats all you need to know...all you have to do is read the hole post carefully
And just an opoinion..if you want a fast and stable (not a fancy one) ROM go for a MIUI and a good one is this Mwakious
and this is Kefir's Kernel
Good luck and if you need anythink PM me
PS: if you think i helped you hit the THANKS button

When the T-Mobile version is mentioned, it is purely indicating that it is a TMOUS HD2 with 1024 MB ROM and the T-Mobile logo on the top. The carrier doesn't matter

Are you sure that carrier doesn't matter , US has different frequencies , and this is T-mobile US (TMOUS). If the carrier doesn't matter ,can I then install in switzerland on orange HD2 according to the procedure for T-Mobile new gignerbread ?
If not can someone give me some links for my HD2 please. I searched NAND 2.3 android but some of the topics are from 2010 and some of them after installation have various types of problems.
Thanks !
Hi there, I was exactly where you were 3 weeks ago. I picked up a second HD2 as my WM HD2 phone is heavily loaded with apps and files etc. and I did not want to risk stuffing it. I played with a couple of versions with HTC Sense but then tried TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 and found it smaller, faster and more stable + much slicker than WM.
After just 3 days and a few new apps like Swype and Wi-Fi tethering, I cut over to droid forever. Next I will do my original HD2 to make it a mirror backup.

As long as you have a TMOUS phone, you can install the T-Mobile US version. As for the Android ROM, have you even looked in the NAND Development forums? There are tonnes of ROMs, none of them even remotely old, which work perfectly. Take Typhoon CM7 or Hyperdroid, for example.
