Hello, sorry to bother you, I've searched but can't seem to find a similar case to mine.
The USB port on my HD2 is damaged and I can't charge or sync at the moment. I'm running an Android Nand Build, have Magldr 1.13 and the Clockword Mod. I charge my batt externally if ur wondering.
What I'm asking is is there anyway possible to flash WinM7 onto my phone without using the USB port but via through SD card?
Thanks!

Simple answer is No as WP7 can only be flashed via Magldr using the usb cable. CWM is great but its only for use with Android and cant be used to flash anything else via SD Card which means you are limited to either Android or WinMo 6.5 but be aware that if you ever flash back to WinMo then you wont be able to get NAND Android back on your phone.
If the USB port really is damaged then the only thing you can do is to send it in for repair.

Flash via Magldr (option 5 usb flash)
Mark.
Mskip,
Are you going to do one of your tutorial guids for flashing win 7 on to the HD2 for us dummies?
Just wondering
Any chance we can condense the 'activation code' and 'chevron' threads into their own sub-forums or even a wiki? Trailing through the forums has become a little tedious from all the duplicate, reworded, posts.
Surely it would be better to have a wiki or single accurate thread for each with peoples findings inside those, easier to administer too. It could even be locked so no 'how do I do this' questions turn up amongst the instructions...perhaps with a replies thread stored separate to the instruction thread?
Just an idea, been here a few years now (previously under a different name) and agree with all the posts made by members and admins about spam posts and searching the forums, this would aid searching too.
Just an idea.

WM7 vs Gingerbread
Just Curious....Presently running Hyperdroid v12 on my HD2 and very happy, but compared to WM7? pros and cons, how easy to revert back to Hyperdroid?
I've seen a dual boot option somewhere...is this viable?
Cheers
If you want to switch from one chef's WP7 build to another is it advised to flash WM6.5 build first or do a task29 or just fire up MAGLDR and do the business straight over the top?
Hi,
Great post thanks!
Am I idiot or the main tutorial is actually missing? That is how to install WP7 on my HD2(?)
Couldn't find anywhere a tutorial, except some Youtube videos...

as much as the tidy up is great, i truly believe that making the "Complete Leo Flashing video guide" and "how to flash everything" a bit less obvious to find (as these are after all intended for newcomers) is perhaps a little unwise.
ultimatly is up to XDA, but just my thoughts
Great idea: a sticky to collect stickies J
Just an additional thought: can't you guys define subfolders in a forum? Isn't it easier to have in each forum a subforum called stickies?

If we start to notice an upsurge in posts asking how to flash then maybe a flashing guide will be stickied back in the forum but this way cuts down on people saying "well if that one is stickied why cant mine be stickied"..
Dont worry I will keep an eye on posts and act accordingly

A stickie roll-up thread is alot easier to manage. If a subforum called 'Stickies' was created then it would need maintaining and non stickie worthy post being moved which means more work (and none of us wants that)
This way everything can be categorised and more useful info added.

Sounds as a really great idea. Now, all we need are some roll-up threads for roms, clocks, icons etc. So the reader can reduce his workload also (ahum)

But with this organization you can still easy find those important threads AND (and I like that very much) threads with much or new activity will "stick" themselves back on top of all threads. Very useful when something new is happening in one of those threads.

[NEW] What are ROM's?
Hello, i'm quit new here i have my HTC HD2 for about 3 to 4 weeks and i've been looking around this forum downloading wallpapers and apps and stuff, but i don't really know what ROM's are and what they are for. and i have read something about flashing youre phone is that dangerous for the phone?
Dennehy.
question for chefs and who ever knows???!!!
Ok now would yal plz tell me when is windows phone 7 is going to work on HD2 and is it gong to work on TMOUS 1024 or not because frying to try it on my phone and just cant afford to buy another..... plz yal give a serious answer coz i read a thread in here a while a go that there is a chef who is working on it...
and another thing,,, i know that catulla did flash windows phone 7 on his Hd2 but did post the ROM to public or not and where can i find if he posted it any where?
thanx
I must do the customary thing first and say: SEARCH THE DAMN FORUM!
Secondly, to actually answer your question so you don't have to search: To my understanding, what the Dark_Forces_Team (Cotulla) demo'd was that they have MAGLDR (an additional or subsequent loader that runs after HSPL 2.08) making it possible to load WP7.
MAGLDR has since been released to XDA and now lets you run NAND Android builds on the HD2.
With regards to a WP7 ROM...I don't believe one has been released in a form that is flashable on to the HD2 (or in any other form). Happy to be corrected on this.

Im using this ROM - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1441462 and all I can say is its bloody fantastic! Everything I have used on it is working very well (with the execption of the gallery, but I just use QuickPic instead) Gaming doesn't work too well (you can still play games) as HWA isnt currently working.
I havent tried any of the WP7 ROMs.
As for dual booting, I would just have one ROM on the SD card and one on the Phone.
Hope that helps answer a couple of you questions.
Okay, I'm going to answer these questions with two different personalities:

2- The kind xda-developer member:
1). Is Android fully functional including calling?
Yes, if you are going to use a non-sense gingerbread (cm7/miui)
2). Is Camera working (in android port) ? If yes which version ?
Yes, it is. In all versions of Android (On ICS, it might be a little buggy)
3). Are HD games running (in android port) ?
As far as the games I've tried, yes, they do.
4). Is the android port stable for daily usage ? If yes, which version ?
Yes, the following is stable for daily use:
1-Any froyo build
2- non-sense gingerbread
5). Is Wp7 port fully working ?
Yes it is.
6). Are the Windows Live services and XBox Live working ?
Yes, they are. But you are required to contact MS to get your activation code
7). Is it able to be unlocked for sideloading apps ?
Yes.
8). Is camera working (in wp7 port)?
Yes.
9). Is it able to dual boot WP7 and Android ?
Yes, it is possible. (There is a guide for it somewhere, just search and you'll find it)

The following is based on my experience, my very long experience with sense:
Sense's resources use too much ram, and tend to slow down the device. Sometimes I have to wait like 5-6 seconds to get it to open an app, flicking through screens is just slow (no matter how fast the OP says his rom is). Sense is just heavy, I've also heard that GB sense has incomplete HWA (which I doubt) but I thought I might tell you.
CM7, on the other hand, is lite. Very fast and fluid & it doesn't take that much of the RAM, leaving you with a plenty of Megabytes to run your apps/games.
For instance, if you tried running "Impossible Game" on a Sense ROM, you'll notice that it lags every 1.5 second. While on CM7, it barely even lags.
You can also notice the huge difference in size between a Sense ROM and a CM7 ROM (about 300mb to only 100mb)

You were supposed to *coughs* .. search .. *coughs* .. the forums !
Here is the link : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=944288 on how to dualboot.
And I can't tell which ROM is best, each ROM has its features, you'll have to go through that yourself.
And I can't say which is better, on SD or NAND as I didn't really notice much difference. But I'm on NAND ATM.
Finally I purchased an HTC HD2. It is the TMOUS version.

Download HD2 NAND Toolkit, download it here. It will do all the partitioning you need to do being you use MAGLDR. Now the one I linked is not the most recent version, but it will do until you can go through the HD2 NAND Toolkit thread. Also click on the HD2 guide linked in my sig, it will probably do you some good plus it has s link to the toolkit thread along with links to some good guides for the HD2.

you could give those SD ROMs a try, it's much easier than you thought & you can try multiple version till you decide which one to keep.
If you partition or install anything "now" in your NAND it will erase all previous versions but radio & splash screen still remains.

You can use the Toolkit to partion how ever you want for using Android with MAGLDR. You will have to re install your Android ROM if you re partion, but hey if you are repartioning then you are probably preparing for a new ROM anyway. Once you re partition you have to re install whatever custom recovery you use. Then use the recovery to flash the ROM.
As for the SD card builds yeah you fan use them with MAGLDR and not lose the Android ROM you have in NAND now. They work really well, but I suggest you have a class 4 or higher.
Thanx everybody for helping me.
I have succesfull installed Nexus HD2 ICS ROM on NAND.
I wanted to ask that how will I know if my sdcard is compatible with WP7 roms ?
If I Upgrade my CWM 3.xx to 5.xx , do I have to repartition again and reinstall android ??

Dear XDA members,
I own a Dopod 838 pro (a different distributary of the HTC Hermes), which has recently been bricked, or at least i thought it is.
It does not go past the bootloader, or the Tri-Color screen, and loads the bootloader straightaway after sftreset.
Here is what i have tried so far:
- Reset
- Cold/Hard-reset
- bootloader mode
- USB rom flash
- ".nbh" rom flashing from SD card
- smashing at it like crazy
None of the above worked, and somehow might have made it worse.
The phone got bricked in the attempt of flashing the Olipro SD card Hard-SPL i found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=576880
After a long time, i noticed the Olipro tool (the one i just linked) was only intended on the HTC Trinity, and i was a Dim-Witt for not reading through carefully. (A lesson I learnt from SuperSport!)
Further Details, if necessary:
- ROM: Normal Hermes Stock Rom - WinMo (Windows Mobile) 5.1
- IPL: 1.01
- SPL: 1.04
I seek support from any XDA member, and i would be glad if they could help!
Best of Luck,
John Freeman

Have you tried to flash the Stock OEM ROM back on the phone yet? I think THIS thread, or THIS thread might have a link to what you need. Make sure you select the correct one for your language. If that flashes onto your phone, it will replace the correct IPL, SPL, ROM, OS, etc onto your phone.
But, Please remember to verify this is the correct ROM for YOUR phone before flashing it. I don't have your phone in front of me to be sure, but I think that's what you stated earlier.
Good luck, and let me know if you get any further.

Thank you very much. I have checked them, but a relative told me they might not work if my Hermes is a Pre-Model (Some Hermes phones came earlier), so that's something i have to look at. Plus, i'm going to buy a new phone anyway. I'm looking forward to an HD2, or any XDAndroid compatible Windows Phone. (Android isn't my type!)

I owned an HD2 for quite a long time. In my oppinion, the HD2 was one of the BEST phones ever built. It was a solid great performing phone that was customizable more than any other phone ever sold. I created quite a few ROMs for that phone as well, including Windows ROMs that incorporated Android into the Flashing Process. You could flash a single ROM and end up with Windows AND Android in one step.

Amazing. Well, i made up my mind that i really do want one. After all, it does have a 1GHz processor with Windows Mobile 6.5.
Anyway, back to the Hermes business, i found out not too far ago that my Hermes' USB port is not functioning correctly. I need the USB port to be repaired before i could HardSPL it or flash another ROM. This is a pain in the backside, but at least i still have hope. The only reason i badly want my Hermes back is because i figured out how to flash a Manila2D ROM, and i would not be getting my HD2 till in a few months' time, and i will be bored to hell. The problem has nothing to do with the USB cables, for i tried different USB cables and bought three new ones. None worked so far. It does, however, show a "USB device has not been recognized" notification. (Windows 7 [64bit] ) So, i want to find a repair center that would help punch some energy back inside it, without messing it up. My friend knows of one that does clean business.
In addition, i tested the ROMs you linked on another Hermes (HTC TyTn), and they worked like a charm. But couldn't get any Manila or TouchFlo.
So far, thanks you decided to help.
Best Regards,
John Freeman

I don't know about the Hermes, but with the Trinity, you can flash a ROM using the SD Card. You might look into that.
Also, if/when you get an HD2, be sure to keep in mind that there are Two models. A 512meg and 1024meg model. Be sure you NEVER flash the wrong ROM/Radio to the wrong one. It will Brick it! Only use the ROMs and Radios specifically designed for your model. There is more information on the HD2 site, read it well. Just before I got rid of my HD2, I was running Windows Mobile 6.5, Android, AND Windows Phone 7. It was pretty cool to be able to switch around like that whenever I wanted. I would suggest the 1024meg version due to extra memory, and I believe there were more ROMs built for it. It is the T-Mobile US version.

My life is now complete! I never wished for a more satisfying phone. WinMo 6.5, Android AND WinPhone7. This is Amazing. I will buy one next month hopefully. But for now, yes, i figured out, you can flash a rom from the SD card. But, on mine, It just goes loading and loading then the bootloader screen comes up again. This is weird, it is supposed to work. I will try with one of the ROMs you linked me. But, I found out - From an XDA Wiki-Page - that the original HTC roms came in the NBH file format. If i could get my hands on one of these, then i could get my hopes up. But for the time being, i surfed the Internet like crazy, and didn't find any reference to the official HTC ROMs.
Thanks a lot for helping me this far,
John Freeman
My Hermes seems different. It does not want to flash a ROM from the SD. I raised hell upon it, and it still seems as it has. It scans for ROMs on the SD card, but does not recognize any. Do they have to be according to my Bootloader version? Plus, i have not HSPL-ed it yet. Will that matter?

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe you can SD Card flash the Stock OEM ROM to your phone without HardSPL, but you need HardSPL before you can flash a Custom ROM using SD or USB. Also, I don't remember the name you have to use, but on the Trinity, it was TRINIMG.nbh. You had to rename the ROM to that before the phone would recognize it (my guess would be HERMIMG.nbh). The Hermes would have it's own name you need to use. I'm sure it's found somewhere in the threads.

Yes, you have to rename the NBH to HERMIMG.NBH, but the roms you linked up at the top didn't work. The phone scans for ROMs, then says 'NOT WORK!' or something like that. I believe the problem is in the ROMs, as they are intended for the HTC Hermes/TyTn, not the DOPOD 838 pro. I need the dopod rom for it to work on mine. I will be searching for it now.
Thanks a LOT, because without your help, i'd practically be illiterate. Learnt a lot from you!
Thanks a greedy heap,

This is my first time i actually did something worthwhile at XDA-Developers. I am hoping to post a new thread with further details, but for now, i am so happy with my HD2 that i even forgot i had a Hermes. I am looking forward to becoming a senior member (Like you ), but i am not sure how many posts i need before i rank up.

PLEASE make sure to thank developer for the dedication to this ROM
PLEASE do not clutter the Development thread with non development-related chatter
See post two for FAQ
FAQ
Q Why a special Q&T Thread for a specific ROM??
A The bigger a ROM development thread gets, the greater the chance that posts are being placed in this thread that are not related to the ROM development itself, e.g. problems with flashing, installation, bugs, things not working etc. However this is understandable, it's not according to the guidelines of XDA for Development sections. Therefore the main goals of the ROM specific Q&T threads is to avoid this cluttering of the original develpment thread with these OT posts by redirecting the posters to the ROM specific Q&T thread and also to relieve the developer from answering these post, so he can dedicate his time to developing.
Q How to move my post to the Q&A/T thread?
A Copy the text of your post in the dev's thread, got to the Q&A/T thread and paste it there. After having done that, go back to the dev's thread, edit your post and change the text into: moved to Q&A/T thread, preferably accompanied with a link to this thread.
Q When I'm asked to move my post to the Q#A/T thread, do I have to do that?
A When you're asked to move your post, there will always be given an explanation by the OP of the Q&A/T, e.g. your post is not development related (f.i. SD card problems, etc), so please be so kind to move your post. If you want to help the dev to keep his original thread as clean as possible from OT posts, then the answer is, of course, YES. Although we cannot force you to move your post, it's highly recommended to do so
Q Where can I download this ROM and How do I install?
A You can find the link to download and installation instructions HERE.. Pay close attention to this post, everything required for a successful flash is listed right here. If you fail to follow the instructions or meet the requirements for installation, you could run into some problems.
Q How’s battery life?
A see this question asked repeatedly across all ROMS. Honestly there is no way to give you an answer based on a ROM. There are too many variables in question and results vary from user to user and device to device. Battery life is going to depend on age and condition of your battery, your use habits with your device, installed apps, tweaks, settings, etc...
Q How do I...
A Ask your questions and report your issues in this thread. You will receive a response and hopefully get you back up and running this ROM to it's fullest
Explaining the purpose of our Q&A/T threads to posters.
Hi my dear followers of this ROM,
in this post I will explain the goal of this specific thread created for this ROM with the permission of the Developer of this ROM:
This is a statement made in the Q&A/T template thread:
"While our forum has slowly been morphing, the one area we would like to keep original is Development
The goal is to alleviate the OT banter that occurs within any rom. While the XDA forum continues to grow, we need to help users work within the guidelines created by XDA. Over the last couple of years the average rom being created, has become a free for all chat thread. There tends to be much infighting and mod/developer cleaning.
The idea of this template is to create a Questions and Answers for each rom. This is in no way asking for Development to be moved here, rather any and all conversation that is non Development related to your conjoined Q&A."
This means that non-development related posts, should be posted - with the permission of the Dev - in this thread. What are the most common Off Topic posts, that should be posted in this Q&A/T thread?
1. Battery life related posts
2. Will this app work with this ROM
3. SD Card related problems
4. How do I dowmload and install this ROM, etc
Hope to have given you enough information,
kindest regards, Kuzibri

Off topic posts or not in the original Dev's thread?
Hi All Followers of this ROM,
a certain post of a member of one of my Dev's ROM for whom I created a Q&a/T thread set me to think and reconsider what kind of posts is OT or not and how to deal with that.
It is not my intention to be overly strict about what is or is not an OT post, you should decide before you post whether you think it is OT. Consider whether the development of the ROM is helped by your post. Consider also whether someone in the future, searching through the thread, would find your post useful or would it just take up bandwidth.
If there is any doubt as to whether a post is OT, i will not ask you for it to be moved.
If I do decide your post is OT, I will ask you to move it.
If you think it is not OT, please post your reasons in this Q&A thread, quoting post number.
If I or the developer then agree with you, I will delete my post in the dev thread asking you to move it, and the post can stay.
I hope this makes it all clearer.
kindest regards, Kuzibri

Hello all devs and users like me,
I've been digging a lot of topics, trying a lot of SD and NAND roms for the last 2 years, not being sure what will come up and not have the chance to communicate with more experienced users like most of you so i cant truly say the ROMs i tried was bad but maybe i couldnt install them correctly.
Anyways now i am really stunned in this beauty ROM, it has all i need expect one thing; the space... I have tried different partitions with Magldr installations but neither of them work out. I tried "New Data To SD-EXT Mod - AMARULLZ DATA TO SD-EXT" (i assume i have done completed the steps correctly) and also flashed this patcher "Native Mount DataOnEXT with DalvikOnNAND" but neither of them succeed seperately..They all stuck in boot screen. May last hope was doing a NativeSD installation following this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1869673 but i dont have any belief of success...
The work which NRGZ28 has done was remarkable in this rom but leaving short-handed in memory was very heart-breaking actually..
The question; can some body who has successfully (somehow) ENLARGED his internal memory share his installation steps by doing a video or smthng so that "your humble servants" can have one peaceful weekend with my beloved HTC HD2 (EU) and my wife (who give me headaches for bugging with my phone that much ) ??

I have the T-Mobile version and I gave up trying to install it via DataOnExt; I opted to install it on NAND and use App2Mgr and move whatever apps I could to my Ext4 partition. You will have better success with for example the NexusHD2 either as NativeSD or DataOnExt but be sure you get the fastest card for the job. I had lag with both my 16GB Class 4 and 64GB Class 10; I'm told the 16GB or 32GB Class 6's are pretty darn good for this.

I can't run Minion Rush on the HD2 with NexusHD2 Jellybean and barely able to run it on ICS. I quit counting how many times I got the prompt a program wasn't responding, would I like to wait or cancel. My goal wasn't to run the games but to run T-Mobile's Wi-Fi Calling App which isn't available on Jellybean but is available on ICS 4.0.4 and Gingerbread, so I ran NRGZ28's EnergyROM and the Gingerbread edition of the app...no lag, but I have it running on NAND and using App2Mgr with Ext4 partition. The game won't run on Gingerbread, but I've had zero hangups since.
com.android.phone crashing
Hello,
I have been using this ROM for few months now. It is really neat and I like it very much.
Only problem are phone calls. After some time without restarting, answering incoming calls will just hang the system. No sound will be heard and after few seconds notification that "com.android.phone has stopped responding", with "Force close" and "Continue" option. Nothing will change if either button is pressed. Sometimes phone will restart after this.
I have EU HTC hd2 and have installed it on NAND with EU option.
What can be done to ensure phone can be 100% used for it's intended purpose: talking?
Thanks for any replies.
