So I just updated to 2.1.1 Fresh Rom and the latest radio. I'm at about -100db. Yesterday after I installed the latest radio and flashed the SprintUpdate2.zip rom, I had about -80db, that's quite a difference. I haven't been able to get back up to a better signal no matter what I do.
Software versions:
Firmware 2.1-fresh
Baseband 2.42.01.04.27
Kernal 2.6.29-bc0d2cff
software 2.27.651.5
PRI 1.68_003
PRL 60664
Any ideas on what I can do to improve my signal? I'm getting a lot of dropped calls. I've got my MSL and even went so far as to do a factory reset without success.
Thanks!
You should either go back to the radio version you had or try another one. Each radio version will have various results for different people depending on your location. Try some different versions from here until you find the one that works the best for you: http://geekfor.me/category/radio/
So I've tried all the different radios:
-88-102db 2.42.01.04.27
-89-96db 1.04.01.09.21
-96-100db 2.32.40.11.09 - Verizon
-84-98db 2.41.04.02.02 - Eris
-84-91db 2.41.05.02.03
-88-96db 2.42.00.03.10
Overall, there wasn't a substantial difference in any of them except maybe the Verizon one was the poorest.
How do I update the PRI in order to check that? After the PRI I suppose my next step would be to try different ROM versions to see if they have any affect.
Hello
I have an ATT HTC Surround Y8788 it is unlocked to use with any SIM anywhere.
OS Version 7.10.8107.79
Firmware Revision 2250.21.40300.502
Hardware Revision 0003
Bootloader version: 1.52.2250.4 (120323)
Chip Soc version 2.2.5.0
This phone came with a DFT firmware and it looks good, however it keeps crashing and the phone reboots by itself for no reason.
Therefore, I want to go back to a stock rom and start freshing updating to where it's possible using Zune.
Now my question is, I downloaded this firmware: RUU_Mondrian_Cingular_US_1.03.502.07_5.51.09.06_22.30.50_RELEASE
Can I go ahead and just flash my phone using that firmware and then start updating?
Will my phone work properly or I have the change of damaging my phone?
Any help will be really appreciated. Thanks a lot.
Also this is kind of urgent, thanks.

You can use that but it is a VERY old ROM for the surround. I suggest you to stick with the RUU_Mondrian_Cingular_US_1.52.502.04_5.66.09.09_22.46.50_RELEASE which is a more recent ROM. 1.03 had a lot of problems on my surround.

thanks I tried with that one, but I got an error when trying to flash it, error 226, it gets to 10% and then the phone reboots and the flash is cancelled.
Hello!
I've been searching all around about this problem, but I've not found nothing useful. I hope you can help me.
I downgraded my phone flashing a Custom Rom. Unfortunately I did not backup EFS folder before doing that, because only after I got the problem, I saw that it should have been backed up. Now my phone has a fake IMEI (after I managed to fix it. At the beginning was null/null) and I have no carrier service. It says "Not registered on network" every time I try to make a call. Now I upgraded again to the latest firmware, but still fake IMEI and not registered on network. My question is: is there any possibility to restore my original IMEI? If not, can I get registered on network with a fake IMEI? My phone details are:
Samsung Galaxy S4
Model number: GT-I9500
Baseband Version: I9500ZCUCMH1
Kernel Version: 3.4.5-3943544 [email protected] #1
Build number: LRX22C.I9500XXUHOA7
I hope in your help!
Best regards,
mfo12002
IMEI is no longer stored in the EFS folder but in hidden partitions on the device. Restore your Android 4.2.2 stock ROM and see if your IMEI is restored using that, as your baseband didn't change from Android 4.2.2 though the rest of the firmware did.
I think also my baseband changed when I downgraded it for the first time. Baseband was unknown. Then after I upgraded again, it became the one I posted here. I've also searched in samsung-updates site for stock roms but the problem is I cannot find my region stock rom. Is there any problem if I download a stock rom of a different region?
Best regards,
mfo12002
Please post the following information:
1. Model Number
2. Android Version, found by going to Settings > More > About device.
3. Firmware Version (AP, CP, CSC), found by dialing *#1234# in the dialer or by installing Phone Info from the Play Store and running it.
4. Service Provider
5. Country
6. Is the phone rooted? (Yes/No)
7. Is a custom ROM installed? (Yes/No, and the name of the ROM)
Downloading a ROM from a different region is not a good idea unless the phone is carrier unlocked, so by providing all this information in one post, even if you've already given some of it, will make it easier for me to help.
1. Model Number: GT-I9500
2. Android Version: 5.0.1
3. Firmware Version: AP=I9500XXUHOA7 ; CP=I9500ZCUCMH1 ; CSC=I9500SERHOA7
4. Service Provider: VODAFONE
5. Country: Albania
6. Is the phone rooted: Yes
7. Is a custom ROM installed: I think yes, but I don't know where to find the name.
Try this ROM instead. It's a later version of the one you're currently using. It's unbranded, so you should have no issues with carrier-added bloatware.
It still have the same problem. Not registered on network whenever I try to make a call and the notification "No service. Selected network not available" in the up-left corner.
Unless someone else on the forum has an idea I haven't thought of, have Samsung look at it. The IMEI in your S4 appears to be irretrievably gone.

Ok! I will wait a little bit more if someone else has also an idea of what to do and then, if the problem still persist, I will give it to Samsung.
Thank you anyway for your time!
download lastet rom then flash it or use kies emergeny recovery
@shahram Ali: See post #6 in this thread. I directed him to the latest ROM. He flashed it and had no luck.
Does anyone else have an idea on this problem, please?

After updating to Android 6.0.1, the phone is randomly losing mobile and gps signal. It happens about 30-40 times a day, especially when moving around, like driving . Almost every time I look at my phone, I see "No service, network not found" or "gps lost" messages. After about 10 seconds, the signal comes back and everything is ok again. Very annoying and impossible to use navigation apps, like Waze and Google Maps. I have made a soft reset, a hard reset, wiped all data and cleared the phone cache, checked and cleaned the Sim card. Nothing helps. Before update the phone worked brilliantly. Also noticed, that the signal won't drop when using wifi, the problem occurs only when data connection is on. And I'm not the only one, I have 2 friends with the same phone and the same problem. Looks like a software issue. Can somebody help?
PS. I'm from Estonia, and the software version is G901FXXU1CPE1/G901FBAL1CPE1
Thank you in advance...
Hi mate,
I Have the same device although mine uses a custom ROM but the problem I experienced was exactly like yours
Samsung released a new issue of the 6.0.1 for our phone, PDA G901FXXU1CPF6 CSC G901FPHN1CPF2 you can login to the sammobile site and download it
As I said above I have a custom ROM so I only flashed the modem firmware from that release and worked fine after that!
Hope that will help you!
Thanks for your response! But I'm using a totally stock phone and I see, that this firmware is for Netherlands. Does it work on my phone or I have to wait until the Baltic version is released?

Hello,
I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work but just in case make a note of your Access point name settings in the mobile networks tab just to make sure that everything is the same after you flash the new release .
If you follow the steps as described in the sammobile site you won't have any problems.
What I have noticed however is that after I flashed the new modem firmware the mobile hotspot does not work anymore but this has to do with my custom ROM.
It worth trying though the performance of the phone after that is exceptional and the signal strength is higher than before and most importantly, doesn't crash anymore..
Let me know if you need help and keep me posted about your results!
i had that ROM for a while, didnt help in my case, still same issue. I'm currently on XXU1CPG3 with which the issue still persists, gonna try flashing the new TPD CSC ROM (currently the newest) ROM Version CPH9. My baseband is still CPE1, which do you guys have?

Baseband:
G901FXXU1CPE1, I have a totally stock phone with the latest official firmware.
Latest official firmware from where? ("latest" is region dependent)
Ok, the cph firmware updated the baseband to cph, on my side it's only been a while 14 hrs since flashing but it seems the signal problem is finally fixed

From what I understand it doesn't matter which ROM you are using the baseband is the one that causing this problem..
As I said I have a custom ROM and when I had the CPE1 baseband then I had all these problems.
If you flashed the ROM and your baseband is still CPE1 then something did not go per plan I think..
After flashing ONLY the modem firmware from the CPF6 release to my SMG901F is reported that the baseband version is CPG2 however..
This version works for sure..
I might try the CPH9 release now to see if the issues i have with the mobile hotspot will be solved

I'll try to install that CPH9 release too. Let's see what happens, because I have tried everything else.
To me it seems, that this CPE1 version is having problems with switching between network modes. I checked, that in Settings- Mobile networks- Network mode is set to LTE/3G/2G (automatic connect), but I haven't seen H+, H or Edge symbols on top of the screen. Only 4G/4G+ or no reception at all. Like it's locked in 4G network or something. And sometimes when there is no 4G network coverage, there is also no signal. But that is just my logic...
Ok, I flashed the latest CPH9 firmware and my baseband changed to CPH3. CSC Country turned to Netherlands instead of Baltic. And it seems that the issue is fixed!
I made a little test, I went to the cellar to get bad 4G reception and instead of showing No Service, 4G turned to H without losing the cell signal. Let's wait and see...
Thank you guys a lot for your help! :good:

Hello! It seems all the firmwares ending with CPE1/CPH1 are problematic. You can try some other firmware from http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G901F/
Select the firmware what seems best for you, don't select the operator-based ones, like vodafone etc. If you click on the firmware and scroll the page down, you will see step-by-step instructions how to install it. Good luck!
Ok but i can't found latest country band FW have same with indonesia network (except FW country singapure now i using it)
So i'll try to download FW update 2016-09-03
