luigi2012...you can't post that here until the developer releases the source for the kernel. And, if you don't believe me, watch what happens to this thread once the moderator finds it (hint: locked and deleted).

[BUILD][14.08.2010][mattc NexusLeo v1.1][Kernel: [email protected] #33]

mattc's NexusLeo v1.1
This is a brand new build. It is almost a complete opposite of my Sense build. The base for this ROM is from Google's official Nexus 2.2 Froyo FRF91. This is *stock* Android.
The kernel is michyprima's overclockable to 1190.400MHz and undervolted to 925mv. It also has the latest GIT updates. I found this combo to be the most stable while producing amazing speeds. michyprima's post can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=756513.
What's Not Working:
WIFI tethering
Bluetooth Headsets not working for calls. Streaming media is working fine.
USB Tethering
PPP
What is working:
Bluetooth Streaming Media
Wifi
EDGE/3G/HSDPA Internet
5MP Camera w/flash
Standard Definition Camcorder w/flash
All other items working on other builds, too many to list
Known Issues:
Internet can be slow. This is because of the use of RMNET and should be fixed in future builds.
There are occasional touchscreen freezes. With the new kernel I have noticed a decrease. Normal touchscreen functionality usually returns after 10 seconds or so.
Tips:
Use SetCPU to overclock. The max default is set to 998MHz.
Turn off live wallpaper for better performance and battery life.
Don't use the built-in USB Storage capabilities. While it works, it may cause corruption of your Android system files requiring a fresh install.
Use a program called "droidexplorer" which safely transfers files using adb.
I have included a Task Manager. Learn to use it religiously to improve battery life.
Other Notes:
CPU scaling is enable by default without SetCPU. There is nothing you need to do to overclock it is enabled by default.
This is a VERY basic build. Don't expect to see any Sense widgets, apps, etc. Check out a stock Nexus One and that is what you are getting.
I have included Astro File Manager as well as a Task Killer.
Installation Instructions:
Download which build you like. You can choose from a 512MB, 1GB, or 2GB storage option.
Unzip the contents to your SD card. All of the files should extract into a folder named "Android".
Use an autoloader or, in Windows Mobile, browse to the Android folder on your SD card and run CLRCAD.exe, then Haret.exe.
Let Android boot. The first boot is always the longest and larger data sizes require longer times. The 2GB can take up to 20 minutes depending on your card speed.
Enjoy Android.
Note: If you are having a looping boot issue, please replace the startup.txt with the one attached at the bottom of this post.

Changes to kernel logged by huanyu:
In this kernel, I have enabled the follows:
•Conservative CPUfreq governor
•Conservative governor is the default CPUfreq governor
•Voltage goes down to 1000 mv (zImage_1000mv) or 925mv (zImage_925mv) or 1050mv (default voltage)
•Overclocking to 1.113 GHz max.
Remember, I hold NO responsibility for anything that goes wrong. I'm simply providing the kernel, whatever happens with it is on your shoulders not mine.
If you do not like the overclocked feature, you can use SetCPU to disable it.
minor tweaking to drivers/cpufreq/cpufreq_ondemand.c
•#define DEF_FREQUENCY_DOWN_DIFFERENTIAL (30)
•#define MICRO_FREQUENCY_UP_THRESHOLD (65)
•#define MICRO_FREQUENCY_MIN_SAMPLE_RATE (9500)
minor tweaking to drivers/cpufreq/cpufreq_conservative.c

DG, just a quick question, I saw some chatter in some of the other ROM threads about a possible issue with the barcode scanner (relating to video issues with the 2.2.1 source) and your name was dropped as looking into it. Is this an issue still with Perception 10?

I flashed a couple 2.2.1 roms and at first when I did a TiBu restore, I restored all the apps with data and got the fc's on email, barcode scanner and camera 360. I reflashed the roms, but this time didnt restore email.apk, camera or camera firmware and no more fc's. I even tried it on perception 9.5 and it worked.

Daily Driving EH17 - My Experience Combining ROMs and Mods

This thread is a bit outdated, and I'll try to update it as soon as I have time, but until then, I'm posting links to a few easy fixes.
Here's a ready-to-go EH17 ROM that should be good for daily driving:
[Odin]|[Heimdall] Stock EH17 + stability fixes
Here's Marcusant's EH17 ROM with some nice mods and a great theme: (It's now in version 6. My notes are on version 4.)
▒▓█[ROM]ACS ICS v6 (Now with moar gps! (and a theme)) [eh17]█▓▒
I've been experimenting with EH17 ROMs and mods, ever since stock EH17 hit the forums. I don't think I've had Froyo on my Epic since around EG/EH builds. I'd like to share my experience, since so many people are still not wanting to move past Froyo, and I'd like them to have a nice, quick rundown of what to expect with EH17. Yes, it's not perfect, but, with a few tweaks, it's definitely more than capable of being a reliable, daily-driven ROM.
Stock EH17 has been super-reliable for me, ever since finding out about the SetCPU/Tegrak combination to avoid the random restarts, caused by Samsung's developers testing lower voltages. My settings are listed below, at the bottom of my custom setup. This has been working for me on any ROMs where I experience the random reboots.
Also, the three ROMs I've been working with mainly include: Stock EH17 Deodexed, ACS ICS*, and Cyanogen*.
*It should be noted that the latest versions I've used are ICS Beta 4 and Cyanogen 10-22 update, and things are very well subject to change, as development seems to be coming along at a very nice pace for both.
My Combined EH17 Mod Setup:
This is the order of install, as well.
[Odin]Stock EH17 Deodexed with CWM 3.1.0.1/Root/Busybox 1.19
Plus Kernel
Hotspot Hack
CRT Screen Off (with non-working battery %)
UOT: GB Battery % and Transparent Notifications Background (Made with the modified system files.)
Helix Boot/Shutdown Animations
Roboto Font (Through Font Changer.)
Sprint and Samsung apps removed, minus Allshare and hotspot (obviously).
Touchwiz 3 (as my launcher) for testing purposes, just to see performance compared to Cyanogen/ICS, which require a 3rd party launcher. I'll report on QQLauncher later, which I used in both of the other ROMs.
SetCPU - On Demand 100/1000 & Screen Off 100/200 (Stability from random reboots with Tegrak and hopefully battery battery life.)
Tegrak -On Demand 100/1000 - 100mhz @ 1000mV - 200mhz @ 1025mV (Stability from random reboots, while screen is off.)
Notice, the order these were installed. I made sure to open up the mods first and see what files were similar. If two mods you're trying to use both modify the same thing, you're probably going to run into issues. Pay attention to this, when combining mods/themes, and it will help save you some headaches. I'm still learning how to combine mods which use the same files, and I'll post links to the guides I find help me accomplish this the most.
My Opinion:
Stock EH17 (with mods) - Smooth, fast (It's still an Epic on 2.3.), and reliable - with a few tweaks.
Cyanogen SELFKANG (10/22) - Smoothest, fastest, most customization, and best experience, but it still has minor bugs (plus no 4G or video camera) preventing a super-solid daily ROM.
ACS ICS Beta 4 - Very smooth and fast, but it often lags and hitches as well. Performs well on intensive apps but not in general for me, even with all the optimization programs/scripts. Beta 5 is supposed to eliminate many of the memory issues, but I have yet to try it. (I'm working on combining my installed mods and theme.)
Battery Life:
My battery life seems to be roughly the same with all three of those ROMs, running most of the same apps. I've never had much luck getting over 12hrs of moderate use on any ROM or mod, to include Froyo. If I make it 12hrs, I'm really, really low, but I'm still pretty demanding on my phone; it's no one else's fault.
I'm that guy that needs a well-calibrated extended battery, or a new phone, if I want to get away from my charger more. Fortunately, I have an Energizer portable battery charger for a couple extra hours mobile charge and a solar powered charger, for when I'm in the field with the Army.
GPS:
This GPS fix seems to work great. I get fast, accurate locks. Gingerbread Leak GPS Fix Thread
I hope this post helps more people jump over to EH17 and start experiencing all the great benefits Gingerbread has to offer, without the common problems people run into.
Please feel free to ask any questions about my setup or anything I failed to mention.

It does have to do with development, but the topic itself is not development toward the Epic. I appreciate the article, and I find it rude that others on here keep repeating the same thing.
I understand the mistake, but be a little careful next time. Some people here...get pretty pissed.

Thanks for explaining this. After I'm out of class, I'll try to reorganize the layout of my original post to where it should more correctly focus on helping development, as that's my intent. My end goal is to learn enough to create a guide and/or tool to help the average person put together various mods, without too much work or having to ask people to make things for them.

Nice post... im one of the people who have not updated yet because I need a stable rom for day to day use. Only rom to provide that for me has been syndicate 1.2. Although, your post has convinced me it is still not time to go to gingerbread because it is still to buggy and requires a lot of tweeking. And **** all the people *****ing about posting in the wrong thread. They are assholes. One reply telling you is all that was needed. That's why the development sucks in the epic xda section, because people are assholes and not greatful.

Also as soon as Rodderik puts out his new kernel it will work for EXT4 or RFS. Also have not had a reboot testing it for 2 days.
Co-Sign on the Assholes Part! Also, as someone who depends on GPS a lot I found this thread very helpful, I've tried various EH17 roms with lackluster results... thanks for your opinions and suggestions.

I've been running CM7 1022 since it was released and have had stellar performance on everything. GPS and nav have been flawless. Quick locks and good position.
I even had some phone calls where I was shocked at the clarity. I didn't realize how "unclear" some of my calls had been. I don't assume that the ROM was particularly responsible for the call clarity, but it was something I have noticed in the last 2 days.
Sad to see this forum is still full of pretentious douchebag forum police, who still haven't learned to just report a post instead of commenting, if it bothers them so much.
Great post OP, pushed me to finally get around to changing m early GB rom and fix random lag and reboots. Thanks!

Good thread. Ignore the haters.
Last night I created my own ODIN tar with a modified EH17 system that includes the hotspot hack, gps fix, plus mkasick's kernel based on official 11/19 sources. In my experience, voltage tweaks are not necessary with mkasick's 11/19 kernel.
Would anyone be interested in this?

Galnet MIUI ICS 1.11.9 -> 2.11.26

New development by Galnet for I9100. Please note: This is NOT ICS porting , just ICS framework. All apk in it are NOT from ICS release.. only framework!
Loaded and will report how it tests. Installed without any issues at all, using CWM with full wipe coming from AndroidMIUI 1.11.4.
Areas of concern:
1. No service bug - changelog suggest it is resolved.
2. Battery life.
(not reporting problems, just stating what will be tested).
I started this thread as I have seen it on the AT&T forum, but actually it can be installed on the SGS2 I9100 and I did not see any thread about it on the SGS2 section.
Many thanks for the developers. Really appreciate their work, and I hope I do not violate any 'rules' publishing the link ..
Edit: 15 hours with original Kernel -
1. Battery life: Decent 4%/hr in moderate usage without Juice defender. 1% loss over night with phone idle.
2. BT - Nothing wrong with it. Paired few headsets, and a car BT easily, and steady. See edit 2 for a potential bug with non original kernel.
3. Reception - better than ever. with KI4 modem calls are clear (better than before) , Wi-Fi sensitivity is greater.
4. See edit 2
5. Browser: Works great with Opera mobile. Never liked any other one.
6. themes, skins, wallpaper: Supports all on-line (downloadable) ones from MIUI.
7. Update (KIES like) - works.
8. Undervoltage/overclock (setCPU) - not supported by original Kernel - untested.
9. Siyah 2.1.1 testing - What for ? happy with original.
Edit 2:
BUG REPORT:
1. Siyah kernel ver 2.2 works great with 1.11.9
2. Have some sleep of death issues with 2.11.26 combined with Siyah kernel 2.2 and setCPU . No UV involved to make it happen. Back to 1.11.9
2. Rebooting into recovery with charger connected (not PC) will guaranty NO SERVICE coming back (at least on my device).

so it looks like any other MIUI ROM.
what kernal are you using for this. I am currently using the cognition mod v1.5.1 with ninphetamine 2.1.3. wondering what i need to change before i flash to this and is there any bugs.
working like a charm! coming from miui 1.11.4, without wipe. Only cache and dalvik wiped.. TY!
How this be running ICS when we can't even get a stock ICS for the S2?
As the 3rd post states, it uses the ics framework. It is not a full ics rom.

Its a MIUI ROM, not AOSP or Samsung, so either you keep the original kernel that comes with the ROM (what i am doing right now), or you go with the few CM7 supported ones, like Siyah 2.1.1 or similiar. The ROM you are on right now is not MIUI, which is a complete different animal. Please read about it, before you jump into it. Some are going to hate the MIUI approach, looks and feel, but i am personally in love with their development, and world wide support .. They simply took Google's android and open source one step further (just my humble opinion) and came out with a ~100Mbyte image that has EVERYTHING ones needs in a OS.. and more..
1.11.7 + Siyah Kernel v2.2beta4
Everything's pretty smooth. Even the battery life seems decent for now. Testing needed, of course.
Can anyone link an RTL fix for this one please

I have a question. I really want to put this on my phone. I currently have Lightning rom and ninphetmine kernel on here. How do I install the rom? Donwload it onto SD. Do a nandroid backup and titanium backup? What do I wipe? Thanks!
For the people testing it, please let us know if the battery life is improved and if the headphone volume bug is gone.
Also can I just flash this over my own version of MIUI without wipe?
Thanks.

sorry I am just confused but from what i understand is that this rom comes with its own kernel and if i flash it onto my phone it will replace my current kernel and rom right.
i noticed that the new gallery is bugged. You can not scroll to the right side...
The gallery which is on your first homescreen works perfectly
Correct.

The battery life is ok at 50% with 2 hrs display time and 1 hour of calling, half an hour of music and radio.
Headphone volume was never a problem, I use the audioboostsgs2 app which kinda gives me decent performance.

[Q] DOUBT

1.. is there any completely working cyanogen mod for galaxy y
2..wat r the bugs in MIUI port
*all cm7 ports have some bugs afaik , most glaring omission was wifi and hardware acceleration ! white has fixed wifi with his compiled drivers and we can expect a release with hw rendition partially fixed soon as broadcom has released test binaries and patches ! that leaves camera(works but white bug), Bluetooth and low sound in headphone as the sole remaining bugs. with cm9 the bugs are more complicated and include no network etc
*afaik all cm7 ports should have more or less same bugs
Bugs in most CM7 Roms
No Bluetooth
Hardware Acceleration (works but not fully ie some high def movies might not work with hw or games)
Low sound in headphones
Wifi - Works but may have to restart phone or use terminal commands to turn back on if switched off in some roms
SD Card - Not all roms can scan sd card for media automatically
Best thing to do is read the bugs list on each op of each rom thread and also user posts for their feedback after testing
Please read the respective thread rather than making thread bro

most of the threads have a bugs list on the first post itself
