[Q] Aurora; Screen Jumps. - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

Sometimes (too often) I have problems swiping between home screens. If I'm at one home screen and swipe to the right, the screen goes half way to the right, then quickly jumps over and lands on the screen to the left instead.
I use Aurora 2.10. The problem has been there since I started using Aurora when it was at 2.02 and has been there in every update since. It didn't act this way on Gingerbread.
Any ideas?
Clean cache as suggested in this thread did not help.

"Loading Sense" issue on startup sometimes

Not really a bog deal I hope but it would be nice to avoid it altogther.
On a few occasions I have restarted the phone i note that after the splash screen it goes to the wallpaper and "loading sense" appears at the top with messaging or some such in the top left corner where it says "start" normally.
If I do nothing it will stay like this and not automatically load the Home screen - ie screen will go dark and even activate screen lock [I have looked for various lengths of time!]
If I touch any button or the screen at this stage it will go to the Home Screen and the screen works fine.
Anyone else get this irritation and anyone know why it happens and/or how to make it boot into the Homescreen normally all the time?
Thanks
what rom are you using?
I had this exact issue myself. Not really a problem, as I just touched the screen and Sense appeared immediately. It was obviously running, but the screen hadn't been refreshed for some reason.
All I can say about it is that I've not had it since upgrading to a newer ROM. It did happen on 1.66, but now I'm using a Dutty ROM (v0.8), which is based on one of the v2+ ROMs.
+1 I get it on stock 1.66 WWE, I just press the X and it carries on as normal.
I am using wwe 1.66 stock rom on an unlocked phone on voda
I get this whenever i restore a prior SPB backup file. I always have to load it twice then it works for some reason.
I've had this issue before and think its to do with the messaging app, as mentioned above hitting x in the cormer works.
Doesnt seem to be HD2 specific though as its also happened to me on my old Polaris
I got this from time to time.
Look at the soft keys. When it happens with me, I always see the soft keys of Messaging. I suppose Inbox is trying to connect. I just press the home key to call up the home tab.
I get this from time to time, doesn't seem to be any particular pattern to it. But as above touching the Screen/Start seems to clear it.
So is everyone just going to leave it?
Could it be a program in the Startup folder in Windows?
Ever since I installed pocketMax's PhoneAlarm, it happens every time the phone is booted up.
It does goes to the home screen after about 60-90 secs.

Erratic/laggy touchscreen performance

I've been getting very strange/unwanted touchscreen issues for a while now. It seems to happen randomly and for hours at a time. When I press the power button to wake the phone and turn the screen on, I can't even drag the unlock slider to unlock the phone. It takes numerous wake/sleep power button presses until I can get the screen to respond to my finger. Sometimes I'll be typing and it will go crazy and highlight buttons back and forth quickly, usually two or three letters almost always off to the left side of the screen. When this happens I am unable to get it to stop or register any other screen presses. I have to press the power button and then press it again to wake it and I'm stuck at the unlockable lock screen. Only after repeated attempts does it finally get through and the problem will go away for a while, only to come back later.
I have used the program 'Dotty' to track the touch points and I noticed that it will sometimes show a multicolored touch point off to the left of the screen and it will jump around, and it won't detect any other new touch points.
Soooo I think my screen touch sensor is messed up somehow. Does anyone else have this happen? Seems to have started when I flashed the kernel to get rid of the 30 fps cap. I have recently flashed Fresh 3.1.0.1 and still have this problem, different kernel with that rom correct? I'll try to get a video up sometime to show this in action...
Yes, I've been having the exact same issue. I even did a hard reset, with the assumption that it was an app. My plan was to add them back slowly until I got the issue, the problem was it happened as soon as the phone rebooted on the reflash. I have no idea what the issue is, but its very frustrating.
I'm running 2.2 stock...
Some people have reported touch screen problems with netarchy's kernel. There is usually a revision to correct this problem for people who are experiencing it. I suggest you carefully read over the OP in that thread and determine what kernel is right for you. There is usually a version specifically for Fresh users also.
MIGHT i ask what widgets are you running??
i talked about it before when running the pre-official ota rom.
it was my htc music widget (half sized one) i had running on the home screen.. caused lag like a mofo, couldnt swipe most of the time, capacitive buttons wouldnt react, pressing the app drawer button wouldnt respond till 5 seconds later...
AS A MATTER OF FACT.
im running fresh 3.1.0.1 + latest kernel + music widget on home screen.. LAAAGGG like before. removing it makes things snappier again.
YEP. Its happening again.
when i ran the STOCK Official rooted rom, with music widget on home screen didnt produce this lag and poor touch input, even with kernel it didnt produce this problem.
Mine is fine, no screen problems!!! stock rooted rom!!

TF101 screen does not respond to touch - Freezes

Hi All,
Very strange issues with my TF101 for last couple or 3 weeks (I think). The screen does not register a touch event, some times it does and others not. Strangest thing is, everything else seems to work, clock, wifi, etc, I can power it down and start again. Sometime it rotates the screen too and other times even screen rotation doesn't happen. If I move around the tablet, shake it etc, then sometime it seems to work for few clicks and then same unresponsive screen.
I have wiped all data, factory reset couple of times but no luck.
kernel:2.6.39.4
build:IML74k.US_epad-9.2.1.27-20120615
Touch Panel Ver:MXT-1.1 build-1
Android:4.0.3
Can some one please advise?
I'm having the same problem.

Seems like my issue is resolved by
Hi,
It seems like my issue is resolved by installing a custom ROM, what I did after all my frustration is went to
http://get.cm/?device=tf101&type=stable
Downloaded the stable version of Cyanogen Mod 9, copied it to my TF101 while its connected to my pc, you can follow instruction here
http://www.androidauthority.com/cyanogenmod-9-cm9-for-wifi-asus-eee-pad-transformer-57846/
And now I have it running only for 30 mins or so but it seems like no freezing...
HTH
Not quite, it seems like after several hours of usage, though it is working immensely better then before, that painful freeze has come back of sorts, it does freeze now, very few times as compare to prior to installing cyanogen mod 9
Same here. I was tired of running Jelly Bean so I decided to give stable CM9 a spin so I flashed it. The screen is so unresponsive it's not even funny. I think I will file a bug at CM issue tracker if that's not only me experiencing that. I have also noticed that scrolling screens using a live wallpaper is not smooth, however this is an entirely different issue.

[Q] My screen freezes, whats the problem with my phone?

Hi all.
I'm having these days a really weird issue with my G2. It was working fine while I was using 20G update, but after updating to 20H I have an odd issue with my screen. I updated via OTA (first time I do in that way) and it was successful, no errors or problems there. After one or two days I started to have problems with my screen, it was freezing sometimes while I was using an app. In the beginning happened like one per day or two for a few seconds, but now I'm getting annoyed since is like that almost every time I need to use an app.
The problem is that I don't think is a hardware problem like many others had, seems that is a software issue, so that's why I first decided to do a factory reset. Nothing changed, so after that I decided to flash a downloaded .kdz from different zones (20D, 20G, 20H from North of Europe and 20G, 20G from Open Europe). I still have the issue.
I recorded a video about my problem that you can watch here: youtu.be/5rYQiMQtpDg
As you can see, while the app freezes I still can use the sliding bar and bottom side buttons (back, home, menu) and I can open others apps that in a few seconds will freeze too. Sometimes when freeze appears there is a second issue with the screen or touch. Look in the video when I'm drawing lines, you'll see that there is a column in the left side that isn't working (sometimes seems that when I'm drawing in the rest of the screens, some lines or dots appear next to the frame). By the way, my screen don't have any dead zones. When my left column isn't working I still can slide down the upper slider.
Another thing that I saw is not working like should do is the brightness. Every time I switch on my phone is like when I bought it, with 100% brightness that I never use. Seems that my brightness configuration isn't saving or something.
I'm afraid of sending it to repair since is something that is only happening sometimes. I'm sure that they'll install everything and send me back the phone again, saying that they don't see any problem.
Any idea of what's the problem with my G2 or what can I do?
Thanks a lot, and sorry for my text. English is not my main language

Top part of screen stops responding to touch occasionally

After a while the top part of my screen will completely stop responding to touch. I can't pull down the notification area or press anything on the upper portion of the phone. After, I reboot it works for about 30 seconds and then the top part of the screen will stop working again. The only thing that will fix it is to wait it out. Maybe a few hours later it will start working again. Then a couple days later and the same thing happens. I think maybe my phone is overheating from some app or something and then it causes this to happen for some reason. That would I guess explain why it starts working after while, because the phone had a chance to cool off
Anybody else experience this?
Yes your not alone with this issue.
This happened to my galaxy S8 plus after using twitter.
I uninstalled the app but I hadn't regained the ability of touch response.
I don't have a backup device but have ordered an older model so that I can further diagnose.
In the meantime I found an app to help counteract the problem. ie. Rotation - Orientation Manager
To be clear this is the top portion of the screen from Very top to about a half inch down.
I verified by using a touch sensor test app. ie. Yet Another MultiTouch Test
I've also did the soft reset, clear cache, and since I use a third party Home Launcher reinstalled it. ie. Nova Launcher Prime
Good luck!
