Okay, so you are told to press the thanks button when you want to say thanks. But sometimes you want to say more. So here, you can say thanks to a (bunch of) developer(s) of your choice
So first of all, I'm saying thanks to DooMLoRD, for always keeping me on my toes when it comes to kernel development. He is more experienced than I and if I need some help he will help me
Second, to the devs that have the R800x, because I truly do feel sorry for you guys. But with the limited resources Verizon provided you with, you have done a great job.
I also want to say thanks especially to paxChristos, who just became a team mate of mine. His determination to get something done is unbelievable, and if you do something well, he will thank you well for it.
Lastly, I want to say thanks to Sony, for the Official ICS beta, I think we are your beta testers now And to KalleD especially, for providing a link between unofficial and official developers, a strong one. Its a shame you can't give Verizon a good kick up the arse though.

I would like to say thanks to you Keiron for all your efforts and hard work!! you've made some brilliant ROMs and kernals.
Also thanks to:
Pricey2009
Nicholtus
Atarii
DoomLord
Logseman
ICX
FXP
all for the same reason really if it wasn't for all these devs putting their time and efforts in for us (and for free!) we would be stuck on sony's firmware (Not saying its crap or anything - i just like to have more choice)
Last of all Thanks to Sony (again) for all their support towards the open source community!!
Thanks ti jjdoctor and acocalypso.
Your ICS rom id great
Thx pvyparts
I specially want to thank pricey2009 for making it possible to use my favorite rom MIUI on my xplay..and offcourse doomlord and you Keiran for your awesome support for our device..cheers..

When I bought my Galaxy S, it was just the time when the phone's development picked up heavily. I started with the OCLF of Ryanza which made it faster than my brain could handle at first.
From there on I started to see what was happening around me. I saw the incredible Voodoo Project made by supercurio, which turned a good phone into a work of art, with its speed, color display and sound capabilities increased by several orders of magnitude.
And then I started following Darky. He was at first yet another theme/mod developer of the many, but then he started building something big. Passionate words, an insane update rhythm and a really cool look won me for his cause, and eventually for his tester team. His ROM grew so popular that he eventually has to create his own forum in order to manage the huge community built around it. I learned a lot of things as a tester, but what was most important is appreciating how Darky actually took a bunch of mostly clueless enthusiasts and turned them (us) into people able and willing to contribute in a fairly big measure, not because he taught us stuff directly, but because we all had to push ourselves to new reaches every day, in many aspects.
With that experience in mind, and now that a year is almost past, I can say that such knowledge, plus what I've learned, has made me not quite skilled as to be a developer (sorry, elspanish, I don't belong in that list ) but really understanding and appreciative of what developing, and particularly troubleshooting, entails beyond code.
The developers and teams that have worked seriously on our phone have been already mentioned, so I won't repeat names. All I want to say is, if you're young and eager and you're thinking about starting to develop stuff for a phone, be it the Xperia Play or any other, by all means give it a try: maybe you won't make the ultimate content for your platform (although you should aim there!), maybe you won't earn more than a couple thanks in your bar (which is not your objective anyways), but you will learn a great lot, and especially you will learn things after typing the last line of code, which are the really useful and enriching ones.
Lots of love, good luck, and start your engines.
XPlay-Swype
Thanking the following devs, although I just KNOW I'll leave someone off my list accidently!
Supervenom - for bringing the AOKICS Beta 2.3b ROM to the table. (although that ICS Beta part was a bit misleading, since it's really CM)
KeiranFTW - especially for the 4/18/2012 ICS Kernel!
DooMLoRD - for ALL your kernels !!
paxChristos - For taking up where Chevyowner left off with the CDMA for CM9 dev
Chevyowner - Miss you, man
Leraeniesh - For GBTweaked of course and for trying with ICSTweaked.
FXP - you know why
Krabappel2548 - No wonder I forgot you at first; that's one heck of a name to remember. But not as bad as "Leraeneish"
Sony - but I wish you would kick some CDMA lovin' our way !!
Anyone else who makes an effort to help out the R800x group - that crimson-follicled bairn of questionable parentage.

Honestly, I would be doing a great injustice to all who develop and aspire to become developers by listing individuals' names here. After all, in the spirit of open source, I'd have to start with Google, cyanogen, and to any other developer who's ever started a project that we've stolen borrowed from.
Instead of giving individual thanks, I'll tell a little story. My first android phone was an LG Ally. Not much in the way of a development scene there, but we had some incredibly awesome developers, Trident being the first and foremost, in my mind. Then I moved on to the Samsung Fascinate. If anyone has looked over in their section of XDA, development is still going strong. I still have my Fascinate, but I switched to the Play on an upgrade simply for its gamepad. (I don't need to tell you why, do I?) It was this phone that made me stop and really appreciate the development that goes on with a phone, especially one that was pretty much designed to prevent such things from happening. In fact, after seeing the dedication that this phone has gotten from all of the developers here, it's inspired me to start learning more about development and the Android's system, itself. I would be much more learned by now if I wasn't so lazy about reading up on the stuff. (However, if one of you developers is willing to take me on as an apprentice, hit me up!)
So not only do I thank the developers for this phone, but developers for every phone available. We can't forget the community, though. Despite it's few exceptions, this particular phone's community is very tight-knit and helpful, even when it comes to keeping the lulz coming.

I would like to thank;
Bin4ry and Androxhyde, for the ever-so-useful flashtool.
DooMLorD, for his awesome kernels and quality of work despite working on so many devices simultaneously, and his one-click script for the ZergRush root exploit.
KeiranFTW, for taking the time during his busy school life to make great roms, and accompanying kernels. Also a great tweak app.
Blagus, for his work regarding bootloader unlocking and the Omnius program.
Alejandrissimo, for helping people unlock their phones remotely using his SETool dongle, and not even turning a real profit.
pvyparts, for his work with the locked bootloader CWM installer, and the T.E.A.M. ROM
Yifanlu for his native PS emulator work.
Paul for his n64 emulator, which is the only one to use the touchpads correctly
Iridaki, for their work with T.E.A.M. and themed apps.
Nabeel_Nabs, for his great ICS theme.
Thomassafca, for his AWESOME themes for both gingerbread and ICS
paxChristos for his work with the Verizon (cdma) models
Logseman, for helping noobs learn about Android and the xperia play.
AndroHero, also for helping people learn how to do cool things with their phones

EDIT, 12/12/10:
It looks like there is a ton of desire here and drive to get some major work accomplished. I just spoke with ferman via PM regarding the future of this project. I wanted to throw the idea out there, and I want to be a part of it, but I am (obviously) in no way equipped to lead such an effort. As I told him, I am much more the monkey-behind-the-keyboard writing code than the project manager at this point, and would happily contribute to any group that desires to further the Captivate's development.
So, without further ado, I hand the reins over to ferman and anyone else that congeals together as communal guidance. I'll be happy just to contribute code.
I thank everyone for their patience while I haven't been here to answer anyone's questions or even acknowledge everyone's involvement. Once I am done with release season at work, I only hope there's still room on the team for another monkey behind a keyboard!
I struggled with whether to post this in "General" or "Development" - I settled on "Development" as it is regarding, well...development.
If enough people are interested, I'd like to start the group development of a ROM, tentatively named "QAM". Cornerstones of QAM? No donations accepted, except for git submissions ("Free and In the Clear" - get it?); group development with specialization based on the team members' skill sets; widely accesible code with an emphasis on sound open source development practices; and clearly documented, well tested changes and updates.
With all of the drama here recently, especially regarding Axura, I think it's time that some of us try to steer this place back to what it used to be.
I'm an enterprise dev in my nine to five. As many have voiced, I have no doubts about my ability to develop a nice ROM for my own personal use. But I value my time, recognize that I am not as efficient in some areas (UI and UX, for instance), and understand from my professional life how much better of a result can be achieved when you've got a diversified team developing together.
Anyone that is a fan of Agile Development Practices will know where I am coming from. If anyone is interested in working together, let's start a dialogue here and now. If you're merely interested in flaming and thread crapping, move along - this isn't the thread you're looking for.
[EDIT - 12/06/10, 8:51PM] Posted an update within the thread. I didn't anticipate this much interest, but I'm glad it's there. I'm going to go through the thread tonight and start assembling names, etc.
i'm interested, but i dont really have any skills in relation to creating a rom or anything of the like. but if can help let me know!

Sounds interesting. I'm interested in at least testing for you guys. I'd love to start coding for Android (BSc in Computer Science, but enjoy coding every once in a blue moon), but never got around to learning. I'll def keep my eye on this thread though, and help where I can
@OP:
Think this is an amazing idea! Definitely can see a lot come from this.
Idea though: you should maybe put up some slots to be filled so we can get some development teams, focused on their own individual part of the rom, together, so we know for sure that this will be great.
The most I can help with is being the app-writer-assistant XD.
I have yet to see a rom with its own app(s)(not counting DG's lbs launch) and I would love to see one with its own music player, notes, messaging, etc. I'm not experienced at all, i just know some java and I'm still learning android developtment(i got 3 big books next to me right now).
In fact I wouldn't be offended at all if you just say "no, thank you". I just really like the idea and I thought that if i proposed this it would at least give some initiative to develop custom apps with the custom roms and make this project that much more...unique
i'd like to see and participate in some REAL developement. A lot of these "devs" (especially the ones complaining) arent doing much developement and instead are just piecing together different things REAL devs have created into these roms and then trying to extort "donations" out of people. There's a select few developers frontlining the kernel developement that are doing real, good work.
imagine if we had multiple people creating roms like cyanogenmod on here...
I would be interested. I have done some android programming as well as some Other stuff. Never did any rom development but would like to give it a shot

This is exactly the sort of thing this thread and concept will help avoid. The Rom builders that are causing drama do alot of work. And we all benefit. Even if they are getting more traffic and donations than the ones doing the kernel and other mods and making them available for the Rom and kernel builders.
I don't mind seeing a little competition in the thread titles. And each dev has an opinion as to what's best and thus we have several different roms. But the bickering I've seen is ridiculous. But understandable. There are no rules in place. No required donation. No licensing on much of what's up. Its a bit of a mess.
Id love to see what a captivate oriented community effort will produce. Team whisky is great but not all that works on the vibrant works on the captivate.

So they look "leaky" haha, clear photos don't look underground enough. I think its hilarious how so many people complain about how crappy gingerbread is but then complain when they don't have it after 3 seconds of it being released!
I know this thread will get closed quickly, but I did just want to express my thanks to all the devs here for all the hard work and energy you put into our toys. You guys deserve honor for what you do because many of you have families, real jobs, and real lives and you do all this for free.
But time is money and it costs you many hours so that we can load ridiculously cool software and soup our phones up, again, for free!
Its time we started giving honor, respect, and donations where it belongs. I apologize for the way some people have treated yall here, its not okay. I also think though that those of us who are appreciative need not be silent anymore, as unexpressed gratitude comes across as ingratitude. I am on here a lot checking for updates and downloadin new roms and probably need to speak up more on the positives. I think people only post when something goes wrong: if everything's smooth we silently bask in the rom glory, but if one bug comes our way we blow up the threads.
I know I am generalizing and this doesn't apply to everyone, but this is just what I've observed. Once again I honor you guys for the the skill, talent, and generosity you have to do all these amazing roms and kernels and themes for us. I know you do it for fun but seriously thank you!

Thats right people, lets all just be thankful we have devs out there supporting our phone. Even if some are split between projects and can't devote full attention to the Dinc, at least its SOMEBODY. At the end of the day, the majority of us would take one look at some code and go "screw that". These people got some major skill, and I'm thankful for ALL the devs every time I see my Dinc with a CM6 bootscreen (And others can insert their own ROM touches, Myn, SR, etc..).
I've always been meaning to really thank the devs here but I never know who to really thank anymore I mean rmk thanks for virtuous ncx I'm sure that's wrong but thanks your your awesome clocks whoever made my iron man splash screen thanks thanks to everyone who has made the eighty million mods I frankenstine into my phone. Without you all my phone would be lame and with you I have something I show off everyday. Thanks a lot to everyone you guys put a lot into stuff that gives close to nothing back and that is just idk awesome lol. I'm done with this thanks rant now. Lol I think we created a thanks thread for now and not a gingerbread one.

I was going to start a new thread in general just for everyone to thank all the XDA devs working on the Incredible, but this one seems to have that vibe going. Who knows, maybe I still will make that thread. But anyways I just wanted to throw my thanks out there to the devs cause without you this whole forum wouldn't even be here. I know *some of you guys* got trashed earlier on other threads, and I'm sorry for that. I guess some people just got caught up in the smell of gingerbread fresh out of the oven. I hope you guys know that there are those of us who really do appreciate your work and although those like myself don't have the knowledge to write our own code, I personally am willing to help and contribute any way I can. So my hats off to you devs, keep fighting the good fight.

I'm working on this as well; boot looping here too. Free time is limited right now, though, so I'm not sure if I'll have anything usable before the new year.
Agree with everyone thanking the devs. You guys are awesome. Thanks for helping free us from the grasps of our carriers and use the full potential of our phones!!!!
I just want to post my thanks to all the developers. One of the reasons i purchased an android phone in the first place is the massive mod community that it had. My experience has been amazing and what some of you guys do is beyond what i can even imagine myself accomplishing with the same tools. The few asshats that get bent of shape every time something doesn't work exactly how they want are just that, the few and the loud. They do not speak for the majority and should be penalized for their disrespect.
As much as i could denounce ****ers like AndroidStu and papi, i understand where IncDoes is coming from. He, along with many other devs, give us all these things that they created in their free time completely free of charge. They owe us nothing and only share their creation with us. I am ashamed to be grouped with such ungrateful ****tards.
I'd also like to take some time to post a quick thanks to our dev community. You guys are superhuman.
If I have seen farther, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.
Yep it's easy to get in a rut and forget and/or take for granted what these guys do. I used to theme for Blackberry and especially when I had multiple themes going, it seemed to consume every ounce of my free time. And what I was doing is like tinkertoys compared to what these guys are doing...no comparison. Not even in the same universe.
There have been some unfortunate events that have occured in the last day or so but regardless of what and when 2.3 advancements hit...my sincere thanks to all who make this phone and community a better place.

I must also say thanks to all the devs the DInc has
You guys do some amazing stuff that I could never do
Hello friends! I created this thread to make a proposal to the dev's and cookers ...
Well, what I mean is that we have bright developers of ROMs for our XPERIA X8
I think most of them work on your own ROMs, without the assistance of anyone (I'm NOT saying they are not able to cook a ROM)
What I mean is that I think that all the dev's of X8 ROM's (as racht, doixanh or AnDyX), cookers (like ME!) and designers (like AChep) come together and form a team, so to create an all-new custom ROM with the help and idea of all users of the Xperia X8!
The forum is for everyone to share their ideas and how they can help in the development of custom ROMs for our devices, and I believe that together we can create a perfect ROM!
That's the idea and proposed to you all, developers of ROMs of our Xperia X8 ...
I think it's a good idea!
Who agrees with me?
Remember: In unity is strength!
It sounds good in theory but I doubt they will work on a single rom. As far as I see it, racht likes gingerbread and has abandoned his floyo rom, but dx likes froyo so he started adding things from gingerbread for users to have a better experience while using it. One thing that I know for certain, if someone manages to find a fix for a problem in any rom I am sure they will share their work with others, because that's why they use these forums.
As for jerpelea he seems to focus more on the X10, which will get official gingerbread update, instead on X8 and that saddens me abit, but is his time to spend and he can do whatever he wants with it... AnDyX has done 2 modules but no rom so maybe ask him to make a rom from scratch by using knowledge gained from other devs.
I do not mean to them that I quoted ...
I refer to ALL's dev ...
I think if all agree to try to do this, we must settle on which Android will be based (Whether it will be 2.3 or 2.2, whatever), but I think that discussion is for later ...
My proposal is that all ideas come together and share their knowledge so that all interested members to create a fully-working near perfect ROM
This is my proposal and idea ...If anyone can understand me...

I do not say that this not a good idea... but it's very-very difficult to work with someone else over the same project. I have never work over roms for phone but from my knowledge as a programmer i can say that it may be better working like now...
I was working with a programmer over a firefox addon (like the way you say) but it was very difficult. I was forced to inform him about everything i did, so to let him know what he should do. I started keeping notes and made a program lol...
You must be very consistent too do this...
I wish our devs have the time to set up such a project...
great idea, but... We only need to know if our devs agree with that..

I feel the same way. It is very difficult to work with multiple people at the same project, each in a different place. Everyone should have from time to time the exact same code and this would necessarily mean working in shifts and not in a team.
What I see much more easy to do is try to understand what features should have the "perfect rom", such as it is doing doixanh for froyobread, posting polls and seeing what the majority prefers.
We could start with topics such as: 1) froyo base vs. gingerbread base, 2) favorite launcher, 3) basic applications preinstalled .. etc etc. ..
Then we might ask a developer to take charge of the project and prepare the ROM. As an incentive we can provide some donation, if at the end of the project will be many users of the forum to participate, there won't be too hard to put together a little cash I think.
What do you think? Could it be possible?
While I won't downplay this idea, because it does have its merit, this would be VERY hard to achieve. Devs would need to communicate everything they did to eachother, which could prove difficult. However what we COULD do is designate assignments for a specific dev. For example:
Doixanh - Porting Gingerbread features to Froyo and performance
Jerpelea & Blagus - Cracking the bootloader
And so on, so forth. Publish all the work in Google Code or Github to make easily accessible for the whole community.
This to me seems the only really viable way to go...
well I hope so !! really they are the betters and could pass something nice
So typical.
All i see are random members saying that it can't be done or that it is so hard to achieve.
Why can't you wait for devs to answer for themselves?
...I agree with all that this is difficult but... I think that the are already work in a team... xda devs' team... they already help each other enought.
First of all, this thread belongs to Genreal section.
Now on-topic:
I don't see any usefullness from this idea.
1st Devs are helping each other anyway for sure
2nd.. 2nddd?!?!?! :O
Oh, yeah... there's no second.
Point is:
Example: doixanh is stuck at something when making froyobread.. he will ask someone for tip...
racht hackdroid has camera disabled... kuya will fix it (altough he's a cooker, not dev I suppose)
You got it??
Apps preistalled, default launcher... install your favorites by yourself you lazyasses
if OP want it like cyanogenmod,
than it is freexperia project.
I don't see it working.
btw, yes, I'm not a "dev", I like and always be a newbie
Theres already a project like that, it is FreeXperia project, i suppose everyone already know that.
The point is, we should just continue that project, if someone already have a well programming knowledge, then they should just help that project, creating the libs for X8 to be used for 2.3+ Android version later.
that's good idea, newbie like me very happy to hear it
That's a good idea, but i think that we'll have more progress about a Cyanogen 7 rom soon enough.
So here we go. My development is over - I'm done with it and want to tell you something about me before I leave (of course I will be here, but only sometimes and won't make any more projects). Why I need to end this all? This is a question. I told that on my DX8 thread on X10 development section - my hands have Carpal Tunnely Syndrome and I fighting with this for about few month or so. Now it's pretty nice, I'm holding myself and pain is not so bad and not hurting me everyday (only sometimes).
But what can I say about myself? It's very hard, but I will try to tell you everything I remember best:
I've started my adventure with Android after I bought Xperia X10 something like ~2 years ago. It was very nice choose and I started to learn some "noob-edits" like deleting officiall 2.1 apps (after I update it from 1.6) to make my X10 faster. Never heard about XDA yet. Then I started to write some first posts on my blog (which is old and closed already for months). I posted there my opinion about X10, my first news of Xperia family, and more. Then I get proposition from one forum to be VIP there. Now, heh, it's my forum . I worked there about Gameloft games etc. to make X10 better (won't tell where etc. cause on XDA it's not allowed - let's tell that my past is not "clean" - it's warez and hackers job yeah. Then I was asked to make some first steps on XDA, writing threads, make myself more international etc. Like you see - it was nice idea . But let's go back. After I close my blog I need to sell my first X10, but one of the best guys here, and very polite and fair friend, mohibb bought me one X10, to make my back-to-job possible. Then I back with some DiXperia for X10 users, can't remember which one. The development on XDA and my forum growed more and more, YT channel too, and my blog was already closed....And then, some time after I bought Xperia Play, and started to play with Play . Made DiXperia number first, then DiXperia 2, which is my last project in Android developping. Now, because of hands problem, I need to end this all and I think you respect my decision and you're happy to use (or used before) any of my ROM, and your device was better at least than Stock ROMs . All last threads like DX8 for X10 and DX2 for Play are complete in 10000% and I think the best fans or polite guys here will help all new persons here, with some bugs or anything else - I'm counting on you guys, cause I will be here only for free-talking about spam-features D), not for development or some new updates. And please don't ask if I will ever back - I think I won't. I have now my private life problems (girl, which I'm falling in love, arguing with me and it's all over...), school starts yesterday, I have much more things to do. But I will never forget about X10 and Play community, all best fans and haters and more. I want to thanks for Moderators and Administators for great job about XDA site and many, many more! Can't tell everything cause I will need to edit this thread thousand times to complete all I want to say!
It's not so long as I wanted to be, but it's enough. Goodbye guys, love our community, and I will be here, but not so often, and with not new projects.

I still remember well, your rom dixperia 7 was the first custom rom I used. That started my craze to flash almost every single rom available, because of dixperia 7 my love for the x10 grew.,when I almost gave up on it.
Dikej, your one of the best developers the x10 ever had,and its sad to see you end development but I understand. ,personal life and health is far much more important.
I wish you luck and healthy hands my buddy Dikej.

Good Luck
Damian!
I always nice to read which person lives behind 'the developer'.
Altough I never used one of your ROMs, i always read something good about them.
Even that I wasn't a DXperia-user (during DXperia 6, I was on Trips ROM), you've given me a great x10. Why, you ask?
Because you were developing at a high level, other developers were also working at high level. So therefor: every ROM became great ROM. It's because developers learned from each other and helped each other. So there was a benefit for me
Ofcourse, real life is more important. So i wish you all the best.
Thank you for getting the best out of X10!
Best whishes and good luck for you !
And another good friend leave our lovely X10 Forum!
Have fun and enjoy your life.
Thanks buddy for your hard and awesome work!

good luck...hope some new devs will come and keep our x10 alive.
Thanks for your contributions
Good luck & Have fun

have a great afternoon, see you around
Hi guys...
We all saw what Sony policy to release new flagship device every six months did for development - basically - it screwed us.
Our main developers spread on XDA and future development for many devices could be very slow...
Also, we saw what happened with Xperia Z3 development, Z3 is great device but without best developers, themers or supporters there won't be custom ROMs, themes or MODs designed for it.
I talked to @niaboc79 and @serajr and offered some help.
My plan is to open on bounty thread, not for root, not for ROMs, themes or anything specifically...but to keep those two wizards in our team.
That way we'll get all the things I mentioned above.
The idea is to raise money or to be precise, donate money to Niaboc paypal account and support them.
That money will be for next Xperia devices, most likely called Xperia Z4. (two devices, one for Niaboc and one for Serajr).
This way we could be 100% sure we'll have best Xperia developers for the future.
If someone thinks we are doing a favor to them - think again.
ROM developing and MODs developing (Xposed modules) developing aren't easy and takes a lot of free time and we should be thankful and happy to have opportunity to keep those guys near.
XDA has changed, we aren't team anymore and that's not good...
But I believe we still have great guys here who knows what we are getting with this.
It's absolutely not important would you donate 1$ or 100$, what's important is your support.
We have hundreds, maybe even thousands of Xperia users who are planning to upgrade their device to Z4 and if we all support this idea and donate few bucks - we'll achieve our goal.
As I said, donation account will be Niaboc paypal account.
And I'm asking him to keep tracks about donations and post them here.
Thank you all for support!
I'm 100% sure we can do this and I'm 100% sure we are doing great thing.
If you are using Xperia Xposed by Serajr or eXistenZ or Xperia (no matter which one) you'll know I'm right
We all know who is Niaboc and who is Serajr, if you have any questions or what to ask them something (thread related) - I'm sure they'll response quickly.
@niaboc79 and @serajr
Could you please tell few words and confirm you are accepting this.
Thank you all.... And long live Xperia
We'll need all the resources in the future, among everything else - rooting method/exploit holes will be extremely hard to find and we need every help we can find.
I'll donate 40$ tomorrow, I hope there'll be many of us who'll join me...
Please, send your donations to Paypay account:
[email protected]
We'll keep tracks here, not to show who donate more but to say thank you to all who helped...
DONATIONS
@funky0308 - 30$
@lagania - 1$
TOTAL:
= 31$
You don't know who those two guys are?
Well, you are probably new Xperia users - so welcome to Xperia family.
Click on this @niaboc79 or watch this video (it's not latest but you'll get the picture who is this magician)
Sony Xperia Z3 ROM On Sony Xperia Z2 - eXistenz R…: http://youtu.be/G1JAzjQ0yM0
Same goes for @serajr
Watch this video and you'll understand why we are supporting this guy as well.
Serajr Xperia Xposed - Z3 Home "Hide Apps Drawer"…: http://youtu.be/SwtWSVOu0vc
This is just one of millions functions in this fantastic Xposed module.
I hope all goes well. Its a shame i cant donate i am only 14 yrs of age and i dont get lots of pocket money. I wish i could help.
Have a great rest of your day,
Thanks,
Mohamed
Totally agree!
It's just an honor for me to be remembered! Thank you so much buddy... you're amazing!
As I told you before and now again I confirm... whatever the outcome, all of you will have my full support, as I have always done in recent years.
And if xposed do not reach lollipop, things will be put into practice with oldschool modding method... smali editing!!
Long live Xperia development!

It's perfectly fine mate - this is support as well.
Sometimes few good words helps more then all the money of the world...
We are a community, that means that we must help others.
Serajr and me are working hard to bring you as much as we can but we need devices to work on.
The Xperia users doesn't have many developpers because Sony phones aren't as popular as Samsung or HTC.
I am motivated to keep supporting you so if all users are giving us even a few bucks we will be able to buy devices and work for you
Thanks
Cheers

Thx, that means alot to me.
Sounds good
I do believe we should mostly prioratize Z2 in development still
Its growing and we should continue to contribute to it growing.
We have Omni Rom on the way along with Multi-Rom thanks to Myself5 and Oliver
Now even if these two dont get finished any time soon you can see proof of their contributions/hardwork in github toward other users
Perhaps these two deserve to be on the list @funky0308

Absolutely agree...but we'll have to work hard on PR to kick that little greedy person in all of us to understand we can't continue without developmers support and to donate and support.
We saw last bounty thread (for Z2 buying), we hardly raised for two devices.
If you ask me, I would buy 20 devices and would give them to many developers and contributors...but...
If we add few devs more here, we will stuck at the beginning and failed.
I really hope I'm wrong but I doubt.
When we raise more then 1000-1500$ I'll gladly add few devs more to list.
This is day two and still no informations about donations (read : no donations for now)...
XDA isn't about paying someone to get root or ROM, we should support our developers every day, with a simple word or a few bucks - only then we'll have great community that could work together.
It's not about money but it's ridiculous to expect devs will buy every Xperia Sony release (even he didn't planned that) just to work "for us".

True but i was planning on trying to get my self a Xperia Z4 primarily for development reasons.(you can ask people who know me if you want proof)
My plan is to build cwm and twrp for Z4 with the help of @Abhinav2
Oliver im not sure if he would want to dev for Z4 and same goes for myself5 but if we have them onboard we can atleast expect multi-rom/cm11,cm12/Omni-Rom
@funky0308
If we are going to get devs devices then we need to get atleast the foundation devs
These devs are the ones who get the initial important things out there and doomlord is an example of this, for Z2 he brought very worthwhile devs to Xperia Z2 and faux was one, his contributions here are large
If you want proof this is for development and not greed then i can give you proof

Hehe....no one needs prof, we all know you are and who are all the guys you have mentioned.
This idea and thread is attempt to keep two guys who are very frisky on Z2, stock based development.
After hours and hours of corresponding and talking to XDA users we agreed to one thing - we need LB dev support.
I'm not trying to say Doom isn't important, he is legend of Xperia devices and without his work many things we are using now would not be possible.
As soon as we collect founds for two devices we'll continue to collect money for other developers but we are known to be extremely difficult when we should support devs and give something back...
So, lets wait and see what will happen here.
If someone wants to say "here's xx $ for doomlord" - I'm perfectly fine with it.
But if I added five devs to this bounty, our money would spread all around and we wouldn't do anything...

In which case bring [NUT] he is someone who can create recoveries for locked bootloader
Im mostly trying to get on the Z4 development bandwagon because i want to learn and contribute, Even though it isnt what your looking for it still helps those who you may not, Xperias always have strong LB support anyways, Xperia S and Z2 are examples i know very well and Xperia S didnt have any of this bounty stuff, it came along with time
Where doomlord usualy provides the first recovery and root methods ill try to since he is so busy and ive found life is hard when no one is there to do the work you cant do.
As for anything else with Z4 ill try to port multi-rom if Myself5 or Oliver wants to help however im not a dev nor a great dev but itll happen with time and patience
Also need i remind you that Xperia Z4 will most likely be releasing with Lollipop so even LB stuff will be hard, you would have to hotboot a recovery just to flash supersu and im not even sure if that can be done on locked bootloader and we definatly do need somone who can find and exploit if this is the case
We may be able to use adb to root but ill have to see on how adb acts in the situations i put it in.
I know you know of my capabilities with LB once i have recovery access @funky0308
Edit- if anyone @[NUT] is important for LB support
Grt initiation @funky0308. I see this is a good opportunity to bring devs to z4.. I have to agree on @Envious_Data on one thing.. Devs like NUT, Olivier, Myself5 are important to be on the list coz first thing, any user on xda will be needing root(lb), a recovery for lb, and custom roms for ub(cm/aosp) and ofc stock based roms.. I am not against niaboc or serajr.. They are grt devs n i am a big fan of their work.. I'm just trying to expand the list since we would be needing more devs in Z4.. I wish i could be any help in donating, but i am still a student. But atleast i hope we can contribute as a community and preserve good devs on xperia.. I remember a lot of good devs moving to sammy/htc.. One such example was letama.. You all remember him.. I suggest adding a few more devs like the ones i mentioned above to the list so that we can improve development.. Again, its just my opinion.. Peace..
I know why I said two names only and why I said those names.
Just check all bounties we had - we were struggling to raise money for two devices (and we failed, Niaboc had to add 60-70% to buy Z2)
I would like to have 10 000$ and to be able to buy device for everyone.
If we expand this list to ten names we won't do anything.
Who wants to support this - support, who don't want - just don't...
We have many great devs and contributors, it's impossible to add them all.
I know who is NUT, I know who is doom but if we want to be fair - we'll need someone as @jcase to find exploit in firmware.
For now, Z4 isn't even announced, so please, if you want to support our devs - support them.
It's ridiculous to talk about firmware which isn't announced yet...
We don't know what should we expect...and that's not subject of this thread.
I don't want to buy anything i just want to support guys who gave so much in last few years.
Even if they don't do a single thing on a next Xperia I still want to say tnx.
That's the purpose of this thread not to buy developer who will work 8 hour shift for us.
I said that in OP, this isn't root bounty, it's not ROM developing bounty or anything similar.
It's thread where we can show our appreciation to guys who work on Xperia devices and did amazing things...
So please, please, please....stop doing this - donate few bucks if you can...
This isn't true XDA spirit guys, we shouldn't buy developers, this isn't market..
We are supporting our developers no matter what, we are helping them to buy new device and we are trying to keep them near us.
That way they'll develop and we'll all have something from that.
Thanks

Like said atleast try to get the initial important people first, you cant realy do much with LB if you dont have root or recovery for it, same goes with UB, you need a recovery either way.
Im sceptical since the device will release with lollipop.
Then we can go for other people.

Mate, please tell me, or show me when doom find exploit and rooted LB Xperia.
Do same for NUT please.
NUT is great guy but he was using phils and dooms work.
He did awesome things, just like doom but jcase did what you are talking about, not doom, nor NUT.
We'll see what will happen.
This is thanks thread to guys who did fantastic job.
Number of tnx on latest ROM by Niaboc and lateat Xposed module by Serajr said everything.
We will need many developers here, that's true.
So donate 40-50$ and lets expand this list.
I will donate today and I'm perfectly fine with list expand but lets show we are really on this.
When this bounty shows 500-600$ we can talk further...
It's easy to write names but I haven't seen a single dollar to confirm your statement.
We need devs...yes, we need them, show that, don't only write names.

This was my plan...
But if anyone wants to donate to someone else (here), that's perfectly fine and it's more then welcome.
Lets start and buy (raise money) first two devices...if we can buy more then two devices - fantastic...
No one would be happier then me if we could buy 20 devices.. But lets start...

But if anyone wants to donate to someone else (here), that's perfectly fine and it's more then welcome.
Lets start and buy (raise money) first two devices...if we can buy more then two devices - fantastic...
No one would be happier then me if we could buy 20 devices.. But lets start...
Every suggestion is welcomed, absolutely but lets keep this simple and lets have fun here...
Click to collapse
This may be planning way far ahead but im going to be buying a new device in a year and a half and i was thinking of creating a bounty list to atleast get [NUT] just because its not easy at all making recoveries for LB
Good idea @funky0308.. We should expand the list after we get more donations.. I agree wit u..
