Well.. yeah the galaxy is an awesome mobile phone, few doubts about it.
But why stall us all and delay the release of ICS? on december 2011 when I bought the note, I was told that the galaxy nexus has a better OS, but that Gnote should get it soon, therefore I bought it.
Having an outdated OS sucks, or at least it sucks when you expect it to actually update. Maybe nextime when we buy a phone we'll tell samsung that in q1 2012 we'll pay but delay them too.
Other than that, my screen has a decent scratch on it... but it doesn't really bother me, so much for gorilla glass.
Oh and with the new firmwares its impossible to record a call by using sanity. Those audio patches just silent the whole phone instead of allowing sanity to record.
i hope i wont get decent scratches on my gorilla glas :O
but u should be always know that samsung isnt the fastest in updating phones
when getting my galaxy s1 i got the update after 6 months promising that the update will come blabla..
i wont rely on samsungsupport anymore cous we have great developers bringing out better roms then samsung ever can!!

You must understand that its not just Samsung that controls the roll out of the updates, they have to coordinate with operators around the world to roll out any updates because of so much operator specific **** that comes along with the phones.
Yes, Samsung can do better but name one OEM who has done better? HTC? Sony (Ericsson)? Motorola? Its all the same in Android club, sir. Only if you have a Google AOSP phone, you can rely on fast updates.
Begs a question- All competing platforms are calculated and reserved with updates- Why does Google has to release one major
OS release every 6 months? Why can't they have consolidated single annual update cycles?
Anyway, you are at XDA- the motherlode! Why do you wait for official updates when there are several talented devs bringing you top notch releases before OEMs do. Just root it and forget it!

Those are all beta, so not perfect
Ics makes a few tweaks thats all not end of the world so what we have to wait im sorry but the phones is excellent regardless its not like ics will make this phone earth shattingly better it will make stuff all difference in the long run.
I cant wait until they release ics. Because i promise you this we will see this type of thread disappear to be replaced with. "why did samsung release this when it has bugs" or "when do we expect jelly bean" or " "Now we have ics do you think samsung will abandon the note with jellybean"
Im sorry to be negative but the note forum has jsut turned into a whinging forum.
Maybe mods could set up a vent your rant thread as not to over inflate this forum any more than it is

What does ICS really bring to the table that most note users will really need?
The majority of users are not the ones that frequent XDA. The majority of users
just use the phone as a phone, email & internet device.
The "1%ers" try to squeeze every little bit out of it.
I use around 2400 minutes a month on the phone, 2-300 text messages & around 100-200 emails. No games, no huge amount of data. Maybe 1-2 gig per month.
Personally, I'm holding off on ICS until it's been "official" for a few weeks.
GB is tweaked to the point, at least on my device, that it is fast & stable.
You know ICS will need a few revisions before it is really as stable as GB.
If it wasn't for the "1%ers", I doubt these devices would be as good as they are, but, for the majority of users, I just don't see ICS being that big of a deal.

Hey friedje you're so smart... luck must have sent me here to be enlightened by your ingenious comments.
Let's just review your comments the same way you reviewed mine ok?
1.Never buy something for what it might become-wow! I am really thrilled and honored to see such an amazing sentence, too bad its meaningless. Never buy something for what it might become? *cough* BULL****. An update was supposed to be released by now, an update which is considered to be a cornerstone of android's development, or briefly speaking -a major change to the device.
2.95% of androids run gingerbread, perhaps you're right.. can't tell by the way you pull wisdom out your sleeves but.... galaxy note isn't just a normal android device. If I'm not wrong its Samsung's flagship phone, its pricey.. and promising.
3.That scratch doesn't really bother me... I'm honest. I just wanted to comment on the durability of the gorilla glass, or in fact about the allegedly scratch resistant screen that galaxy note has.
But other than that, nice to see that you blindly stick to your galaxy note, and how certain you are that it is flawless. If I had a company or a business I'd be looking for a worker\customer like you to blindly follow me too.
edit:
sorry I forgot to thank you for pointing out that "Samsung doesn't give credit". Did someone say smart-ass?
peace
OMG not again... just install a custom rom and enjoy ICS. There are a few that are quite stable with S Memo working....
More *****ing and pissing and moaning I see hey? There are LOTS of these threads already so please stop flooding the board with this OVER AND OVER again!!!
Yet another "fkn samsung where's my update" thread... can't you people just wait a month more ? It's just a software update, it's not like your phone is useless without ICS...
Samsung said you will get ICS and you will, Gorilla said the glass is scratch resistant and it is.
So...You are waiting for ICS and you have discovered scratch resistant is not the same as scratch proof.
You seriously need to lighten up.. its a phone dude, not life and death

Support for Android 3.x and 4.x apps. DriveMount really cool thing. With DosBox Turbo you can play DOS games with USB or Bluetooth mouse at ICS. And many more 3.x and 4.x great apps...
New many awesome settings, like "Hovering pen icon". It's amazingly cool helping feature, I really like it! Of cause other functions like "Force GPU rendering" and other from Android 4 also very helpful. Windows and transition animation scale settings will make a pleasant view for menus and other animations...
Also ICS is incredibly smooth!
I hope someone will fix Tablet mode for samsung stock ICS roms. AOSP good, but it kills many Note features, like stock camera, hovering pen icon, s planner, s memo and other samsung good things...
you know what? I take it back. both the hostile replies against friedje and the whining about not having ICS.
I was just in a mood to express my opinion after logging in every few weeks to check for an update.
all the best everyone!

Yes, what a bunch of cry babies. Nothing except google branded phones get updates for crap. This should be common knowledge for anyone on XDA.
OTOH, CM9 is running FLAWLESSLY for me. I don't care about FM radio and w/e the other missing things is, whoopdeedoo.
And screen protectors must cost as much as a phone the way people don't wish to protect a 600 dollar device. Where is the sanity? Not in this solar system.

It's still there, but it's nowhere near as bad.
I feel like the biggest reason we haven't seen the update is simply incorporating the driver's for the S-Pen and it's related things. Also the Galaxy Note runs at a unique resolution compared to everything else so that will cause some differences. If you've used any of the leaks they're pretty close, but they're still far from what I would consider something that should be released for everyone. I went back to CheckRom for my Note and for GB it runs really good. I was using CM9 which ran great, but I missed having the SPen and related apps as that was part of the reason I got the note. I would love ICS to be released right now, but even with GB the Note is still by far the best phone I've used. I love using my Note with Gingebread and Touchwiz more than using my Galaxy Nexus with 4.0.4

Ginger will be avaiable for galaxy S, honeycomb probably won't ( i mean, in official way)
Any company who wont adapt the latest android to a phone thats almost identical to one they have already done the legwork for wont be getting future phone purchases from me. Sad because google picked samsung for their strong hardware, and google can ignore the ****e software samsung offers
I would think we will get gingerbread and honeycomb, I cant see any real reason why we wont.

ever thought about greed?
companies wants to sell new HW, and so samsung.
http://pocketnow.com/android/why-samsung-will-never-update-galaxy-s-to-gingerbread
well here is well thought out reason why we wont get gingerbread
Very few people base their phone purchase on the software so even if they put android 3.0 onto the galaxy s but had new phones with dual cores and big fat gpus in them also running 3.0 I am pretty sure the galaxy S wouldnt dint sale of the new phones.
The truth though about 2.3 is it wont really offer any advantage to the Galaxy S. The performance increases people mention would only be seen if they decided to ditch touchwiz3 and start using googles new UI API with their own skins. Google have already said a lot of the performance issues on previous android devices was caused by company added UIs thats why the developed their own "skinable" UI. All the additional features of gingerbread such as gravity, barometer sensors, NFC, multiple cameras, multiple displays, openGL enhancements etc etc all require specific hardware for such features to be utilised which ofc the Galaxy S doesn't have. On top of that it does cost the industry a lot of money to impliment, people mention that the Nexus S has 2.3 so it's easy to migrate and it could very well mean that sim free galaxy S models do indeed get an upgrade but its not gauranteed that all the carriers/operators are also willing to invest and time, money, resources it bug checking, branding (where applicable) on an old device.
I have been playing around with 2.3 for a day or so and to be honest based on my 2.1/2.2 test hardware there is little to no noticable difference.
A few changes I noticed
Battery icon now vertical
New Icon when text fields are highlighted showing field name (great one this)
Things like Exchange support home screen control, widgets, calendars, browser etc etc just all the same functionality and performance as 2.2
Read the link your posted Ming930919 is bull**** though because that article is purely basing the fact that people will ONLY buy a Nexus S for gingerbread and nothing else which is utter ****e.

Ginger facial hair is not very pleasant to look at.
Samsung has a great tablet but it is rapidly falling behind others in the updates.
And the BS about only rolling in certain markets to alienate customers.
Who does that?
Who in their right mind thinks that is a great idea?
So everywhere else your paying customers don't get the update they deserve.
Also we still don't have touchwiz, but Samsung is rolling out updates to certain people wtf? Some got Touchwiz, some got Google Movies, mine shows jack / nada / zilch.
Honestly, I don't know what Samsung's logic is for all this but it just sucks.

And you still got a GT 10.1 because...?
i do totally agree with you about Samsung really, really sucking it in the update department. The problem with Samsung is they build really awesome and powerful devices but they just don't build the software to match up with them. That is why we have XDA. Dude you can run touchwhiz and you can update. Just give it some time and you will see some better things on here that Samsung can't even come close to touching. This is a brand new tab and only a few weeks old. Give everyone a chance to pick one up and then this forum is going to blow up.
OP Samsung is a hardware company, google is the one who developed android. Because android does not belongs to Samsung thats why samsung cant do anything about updates and stuff. You can see Apple's updates moves fast because they are both hardware and software manufacturer so they can do fast updates they have one device to fix it. Google has so many devices to take care of and so many regions to consider. So it will take more time than usual. As you can see on samsung website that they uploaded the new drivers for pc and mac which was fast update because that update was in their hand. Samsung has nothing to blame about update if you want to blame then blame google.
Once ics comes out and the source is released there won't be a problem.
you are right about google
But the hardware vendors are responsible for the updates.
So it is Samsung.
Google has no idea how they are going to enforce update policy and there is no guarantee Samsung will even upgrade the 10.1.
i don't understand way people complain about updates. If it is that important root and flash.

DO NOT WANT TO ROOT OR FLASH !!?

Actually 8. 2 iPhone's, 2 iPod Touches, 4 iPad's. #justsayin
Android is to college as the iPad is to high school. It's more work but the rewards are greater.
There are plenty of people happy with the iPad. Personally, I'm not going to settle for a device that my grandmother can use.
I'll never understand why people are so hell bent on having the latest upgrade of the OS on the devices they use. It's an over the top emotional quest for some.
The Galaxy Tab is a tool, a means to the end. It's not the end itself.
These are the same people that get a new car every two years because their car looks dated. It's a status thing that makes no sense.
If you can run the apps you need on the Galaxy Tab then it matters not what version Android is installed.

I'm sure that's the case for some and I agree with some of what you say, but I can say for me, however, that it is the allure of the promise of improved functionality. Anything that makes my device harder, better, faster, stronger is all right by me. Of course, roms can do that too, but some prefer "official" whether the reason is snobbery, stock OCD, timidness, what have you.

I look outside my office and see 10 cubicles, all with PCs running Windows XP. It's stable and runs like a work horse. And, you know what? They get their job done every day and go home at the end of the week with a paycheck. Never once have they asked for Windows 7.
I simply can't imagine what the next version of Android, or Touchwiz, will do for the average user to make it worth venting about on a public forum simply because they didn't get it NOW.
Today is pretty much a sad day for Samsung, ICS and Android in general, in my opinion.
Androids latest version, ICS, has been released about 5 months ago. Today, the most important Android device available on the planet, has not yet seen an update to this latest version yet, and I think that is something to be ashamed of. As a pretty normal user, I don't know and don't really care how much development goes on before releasing a new version, but a company that sells 300 million handsets in a year (of which at least 20 million of this type of handset that have cost the user somewhere between 400 and 550 euro's) I expect some more dedication to deliver a finished product worthy of it's name, fame and money. Google should be very upset that their latest product stays more or less hidden from public for about 6 months in this high paced market because multi-billion multinationals choose to dedicate too few people to get the software side of things sorted out.
All the false rumours don't really add to the experience of having a top-end device. Countless piles of crap have been pushed out by various dubious sources simply because Samsung does not wish to pin itself to a date. They knew, that people would have been outraged if they had stated in october that ICS would be released on the Android phone as much as half a year later. Instead, they let the irritation smolder and only give some vague hints once or twice during the whole period.
In my opinion, smartphone use is not as much about hardware as many of the Android manufacturers and users would like to see. The race for top specs will probably look quite ridiculous a few years from now. The secret to having an amazing device has it's foundation in good hardware (not neccesarily top notch hardware though) and esthetics/design, but without proper software this foundation will still be only a foundation. Nobody likes to own the best foundation in the world when there are no walls, windows, furniture, household appliances and great looks and functionality to make the living pleasureable. Off course, Samsung does provide us with all that in some way or another, but it is lagging behind seriously, especially compared to the competing major OS'es.
Naturally, every Android user has the possibility to blast everything off the foundation and build something custom on it, being either Samsung stuff with some extra things and paint added or removed, or being prefab Cyanogenmod or MIUI or whatever, but unfortunately this argument is worth almost nothing since it is again Samsung who decides when the bits and pieces become available for custom building, and this is lagging even further behind than their own software building, much to the irritation of the developers of custom firmware.
So, to sum it up, I think this has been a praticularly bad day for all SGS2 Android smartphone lovers. And being beaten to it by some other competing manufacturer does not help!
Thanks for listening
Dude, relax. It is just a phone. An nice one, but still a phone.
waaaaaaa
You do know Samsung don't have to release an update right?
Next time get a Nexus device, any other flavoured Android build takes time for adaptation and I'll rather they did a good job than rush a half baked build.
Your rant suggests you lack a fundamental understanding of the process.

i would rather have a stable rom with a bit of delay than a buggy one (doesnt apply to cyanogen mod )
and what are you on about its been about 3 months from the release of galaxy nexus
and anyways ics is coming tomorrow
we did have beta roms from december and we could see samsung patching bugs in each successive build this is what xda is we all work together to make our devices better and better
Stop moaning, HTC have just started rolling out ICS in certain regions, what about other Android manufacturers? Where's LG, where's Motorola? Where are their ICS leaks etc etc applies to all.
Each manufacturer has their own overlay on top of ICS this takes time and testing to get it right, it's a few months late oh well at least 2.3.6 is running fine though, there's no need for Samsung to update our phones to ICS they're a business do you think they care how long we have to wait no, they'd rather make money and focus on getting ICS running on their next flagship model then current flagship.
We will get it just a matter of when, if you don't like it get a Nexus, also made by Samsung.
All these posts bashing Samsung its just all the tech blogs making things worse!
If you dont like it get an iPhone or better yet a symbian device!

I would like the OP to tell me one thing that he/she can do on ICS that they can't do on gingerbread. And make it a decent example and not something like "monitor data usage" which I agree is nice to be built in but nothing that can't be done already with an app.
The way this post has been worded with all the "house/foundation" metaphor you would think that the SGS2 doesn't work at all atm and needs ICS to make it functional, which we all know is rubbish.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
@bluefa1con ICS is not coming tomorrow, they went back on their word this morning.
anyway, you're right, and i'm a bit disappointed because Samsung have been best buddy with Google since Google Dev Day 2011, they have access to early build of their OS, they even produced 2 Nexus phones for them, there's a huge meaning behind this, but still, Samsung waited till the last moment to start working on their flagship device, first leaked build started coming out after official ics aosp release, and their work is progressing very slowly, but, like someone before me said, it's just a phone, i just love playing around with it, and i don't mind waiting till april/may for a stable rom, all i want from them are kernel sources.
I completly agree with OP-post.
My rage is simple, I mean, We're the owners of the fastest and best device in 2011 and we still didnt even had a actual DATE. The only thing, that was said: "Q1 2012". If I remember correctly, they said that Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Note will have the update at Q1.
But let me tell you this, if they're still delaying date, and giving wrong info at their official(!) website, it seems that SGS2 ICS is not ready or something, that means that Galaxy Note is even out of place, probably, it will have the update somewhere at Q2 of 2012. It's totally unacceptable from such big and sucessful company as Samsung. We can't trust them, simply, they say one thing, tomorrow it will be "wrong" or something.
Samsung making great devices, and I love them, but the thing as they communicate with their customers, with their community - is just unacceptable. They won so much awards for their phone, and they, still, can't release their update to us.

Same here mate..Those guys who have the GNEX are having the last laugh now. They even got a HTC sense 4.0 port as well those lucky bastards....I am gonna hold off till that release instead of going for the s3
About a year ago HTC decide to close their phones. That's why i decide to change to Samsung. And with me a lot of other HTC users. You are wright. This is not the way to communicate with your customers. This Samsung phone is my first and last one.

Think about it this way a large proportion of users don't give a crap about what firmware is running on their phone as long as it works, us geeks or enthusiasts may give a crap, but my sister has got an S2, several other work colleagues have them to and none of them even know about custom roms and such let alone an update to ICS so to the mass it's not a major priority in having the latest or greatest firmware as long as they can use their phones that's what they care about.
Several work colleagues are still on the original firmware and I've told them to update but they don't care or don't have the technological ability to do so.
There is a higher percentage of normal users compared to us at XDA who make a minority.
And for those who say this will be their last Samsung device good for you, go buy a Nexus oh wait that's made by Samsung as well! I'll continue to enjoy my device running on gingerbread which works beautifully also knowing the fact it's still the best phone available currently apart from the Note which I consider a niche and better than the s2.
If you want aosp buy a Nexus otherwise deal with the fact that it takes longer to get an update. It's the way it is on Android, look at the other manufacturers as well its common. That's the problem with an open source system compared to iOS where there are a selected few devices so updates are quicker to roll out on the product lines.

So what is next after ics update? There are going to be complaints that ics is bad, its touch wiz bla bla bla.
Ics is not going to turn your phone into super powered alien or going to give you 10 days backup. Why can't you people just wait.

Why does Touchwiz still look the same, along those lines.... Why is it still green, etc etc.

As in a contractual obligation? No indeed, I know that. But aparently (look around here on XDA) it is expected. Dissapoint customers too long, and you will be ditched for the one who doesn't.

Yeah, because getting a Nexus device will get you there quicker Most Nexus S users are still waiting on their update to ICS since updating was stopped at dec 20th.
And somewhere in my post I did mention myself that I lack fundamental understanding of the process of building firmware for handsets, thanks for repeating that to me. That doesn't mean I'm unable to compare this process to other processes and draw conclusions as a customer.
Updating on Android is slow and ceases quickly (this will probably be the last major update for the SGS2 already), so when developing stuff for Android you need to take at least 5 different versions of the OS into concideration because the market shares of the versions are very fragmented. A nuisance for developers, and also for users stuck on Froyo for example who cannot install some app because the developer chose to only build it for 2.3+ to save some time and money.
If you guys dont care that much, why you're replaying to this kind of threads?
The only thing I am talking about, is lack of communication between customer and Samsung. How the hell they can give fresh news about ICS update on their official website, and then, immidiatly, deleting it, and telling in twitter something about "wrong date". How cool is that?
They can at least say one time 100% date, but they're just keep all in secret, that's not the good way how they should treat to custumers of best device in 2011.
I'm still shocked how Galaxy Note users keep waiting for it, one leak, no news, no everything. Obviously, Sammy didnt release ICS for them in March, then, their saying about "Galaxy Note & Galaxy S2 ICS in Q1 2012" is wrong.
Just watched it! It's amazing!!! And I share it for you to enjoy. And to love your Note more and more while waiting for the upgrade:
Simply amazing! Even much more then I ever expected. ICS is coming soon regarding to not only rumors but to an official commercial video from Samsung itself. And it is not just ics or angry birds launch but even further with all Spen capability improvements integrated into brand new system. Samsung rocks! I can't wait to flash it. Fell in love with NOTE once again

I agree. It does look promising. It's a major update. It was that worth for Samsung to release a tease video about it.
Was posted this morning:

You know what? I take back all of my anger regarding ICS being pushed back and having touchwiz over it.
To me, touchwiz is just an aesthetic matter (and not to mention not that bad of a launcher anyway).
However, I was really starting to get worried that there wouldn't be any extra spen functionality.
Hats of to Samsung for doing more than making the S pen just a gimmick, and leaving us with an oversized GSII.
(Besides, we can always use another launcher and/or code new roms from what we get in this new release)"
I'll tell you guys this much though- might as well wait for as long as we should, because it looks like after this update, it might be the last major thing that we get on this phone.
Think about it- with the GSIII coming, as well as the spec sheet having been out for the next-gen note for a while, probably 6-8 months later they will be capitalizing on the success of the first note.

I totally agree so much major update seems worth the wait. I'm settled down off my anger for ics has been delayed for good after watching the video. Unlike some other people here i use Smemo apps frequently and Spen spesific updates are as big deal as ics update to me. It's also been a nice suprise as nobody was expecting such update. I hope they figured out some ways that Smemo data to be synced on the cloud "automatically" with the update

Total hearsay, but this was released many months ago. http://www.unwiredview.com/2011/12/23/samsung-gt-n8010-could-be-a-next-generation-galaxy-note/
Why would it be surprising to see a quad-core note with more ram? That's really what the SGSIII is to the SII
sorry for ot. I promise not to derail the thread any longer.
Just another excuse for a delay. This is bull****.
They could have just made these apps available in Samsung App Store after they release ICS to us.

But however i will wait since i still love my note and waiting couple months won't bother me..

I would rather wait... if it means we're gonna get a fully baked ROM rather than the half-baked stuff that's often released. I hope for its users sake and for its reputation, that Samsung use this extra time to release something that is fully polished. Guaranteed, they will get lots of bad press if they don't.

Well I am as pissed as anyone else here about the delay but I really can't understand the folks "threatening" to replace the Note with some other phone... do you see any alternative to the Note????
I don't see ANY, not by a long shot.
Personally, I would keep the Note even there was no ICS update at all, it's simply a matter of it being the ONLY REAL USEFUL AND USABLE SMARTPHONE out there.
Besides, on the LB1 ROM runs so well I haven't even updated it to LC1 yet (chronic lack of time..)

availability in samsung apps does not warrant that everyone will download them. If samsung wants to include them as default apps I dont see any problems with it.

For me, the Galaxy Note is dead in the water. I went through 4 units, the last being croaked by ICS, and it also had the eMMc bug. Onwards and upwards. Talk of the Note 10.1 and Note Mk2 seem interesting, but by the time they hit the streets in the UK, other manufactures might have something else to consider.
These devices are way too expensive to take risks with, and considering the now tarnished reputation of the Galaxy Note, its a once bitten, twice shy situation. Its a great shame, the Galaxy Note could have been iconic, but its not. The experience of owning one soon becomes a burden. Watching the Samsung ads on the telly just making you feel a complete fool while you wait for the next replacement to arrive, and then, its only to find its just as bad as the one you sent back. Then comes the acceptance this is about as good as its going to get, so you keep it. I had in my mind that it would be out of date anyway, within a year or less, I could flog it on eBay and get a better, faster, more reliable, more feature rich upgrade. Samsung wasn't going to let me have that luxury, they hit me with the Ice Cream Sandwich. Well I'm not going to repeat that part of the story here, but suffice to say ICS to me meant 'Instant Crippled Samsungnote'. That was it, I'm out, I'm not sacrificing any more of my life in a quest to get something that really doesn't exist, and that something, is a product free from major defects and faults.

Exactly, other devices have problems that affect day-to-day use for crying out loud. That LG 3D phone suffers from ghost calling, where the owner of the phone doesn't know calls were coming through, the iPhone dropped calls if you held the damn thing in a particular way! WTF are people whining about, when even the oh so mighty Apple even have flaws in their products that can affect all users, not just those who hack the crap out of them.
For a normal user who doesn't tamper, they will probably never know there is a fault with the emmc in the Note, everything else is pretty much software and can be sorted relativity easy. And for those users if something goes wrong Sammy will fix it, replace the unit, which ever, not the half arsed attempt like apple did and gave owners a cover!
They didn't fix it, they literally just covered the problem up.
Rant done!

Couldnt agree more !!
I have to say, of all the phone companies out there Samsung have always been my favourite, The build quality isnt as good as say..... HTC, but in terms of hardware ive never had a fault !
Samsung seem to be the only ''Developer Friendly'' company out there! Replacing bricks, no questions asked, Releasing Source code instantly (SGS3 code was released before the phone !)
it all boils down to the user, I wont judge you for not liking the Note, But no matter what you say, You will not stop me liking the Note
I love my Note (Phablet) !!
4 units and you still get the same "defects"?
i'd say it's a user error.

Completly agree.
I got a good offer to swap my note+200$ for a brand new s3 but I am holding because it is another Samsung Phone.
I still love the note because of big beautiful screen - nothing else.
Let's see what HTC comes with.
What is wrong with people....if there were so many problems in this smartphone it would never get such good critics or get sold a lot....so the problem is with 7million who are using it or just you who don't know what android is and what galaxy note can run under its hood...this is like BMW m3 ....stop whining and replace the inner parts to boost it up...

I dare say there are lot of very satisfied customers, but that is no excuse to continue to sell defective units, which it appears there are. Also, it is not an excuse to ignore, or disadvantage the minority who do most certainly have problems with the product..
Read my profile. I do know about andoid and where it came from, and I do know what runs under the hood of the 'note. Apart from that, I don't understand your argument. I own a Mitsubishi Truck and I don't care what's under the hood, that's Mitsubishis responsibility, and that's what they are paid to do.

My Note is running Asylum (a CM9 build) ROM. I have had ZERO screen issues. Stock ICS isn't bad, Touchwiz definitely isn't my favorite framework, but the good thing about Android is you DO NOT have to keep it. The Note is by far my most favorite phone I've had (And I had an Iphone).
