This phone was recently flashed to cricket and then the charging port came all the way out...Is there anything I can do with it anymore or am I better off just selling it?
You wouldn't sell it with a secretly broken charging port, would you?
And if you have asurion, I believe that's not a sprint thing, as T-mo and others use it also.

You really have 2 options..
1. Take to a cell repair shop. However they will probably want 100 to 150 bucks to fix it.
2. Check Cragislist. You can probably find one there for 150 or less.
Or get an external charger for your battery. Get two batteries so you can have one on the charger, one in the phone.

Hey guys my g2 won't charge when plugged into an ac wall charger or dc car charger or usb. When the phone is on it wiil charge but will charge very slow and over heat over 50c and still stay on and charge. It takes around 10 hours to charge. Battery lasts 3-4.hours when lightly used. Tried a new battery so I know its not the battery. Help me please because htc won't

Sounds like a hardware problem.
HTC will do non-warranty repairs, if you're willing to pay the price.
I asked they said they would not touch it because it was a demo. I'm am very frustrated

Why do you have a demo unit phone?
Pretty sure if you were aware it was a demo phone you should be aware it probably won't come with an applicable warranty.
I sure hope you got a deal on it because demo units are abused like a tickle me elmo doll in a pre-school playroom.
I don't get why they won't take any HTC phone for non-warranty repair if you're willing to pay You contacted HTC, not T-Mobile, correct?
I guess perhaps they think a demo phone might need a total overhaul and not be worth the parts -- but I thought they usually just replace the entire motherboard anyway
Well at this point, you could take it apart and find someone who knows something about electronics to look at it and see if theres anything obvious.
Or list it on ebay for parts. When my old Mac laptop died, I was able to take apart and sell almost everything piecemeal -- I was up front and said that the motherboard was non-functional but I believed everything else worked.
So I was about ready to throw my phone off of a high rise. At first when I tried charging my phone it wouldn't increase in percentage. Then it just died while it was still plugged in. After that I tried multiple chargers that worked on other phones.
At this point I thought it was the mini USB port. So then I went and tried one of my friends batteries and bam, its working.
Just thought I thought id share since HTC customer service sucks ass and they wanted to charge me a diagnostic fee if of wasn't covered under warranty.

Take it to a sprint repair center. Your phone has a one year warranty for defects like this, it will be repaired or replaced for free.
I have been unable to turn on or charge my samsung epic 4G SPH-D700. Here is the facts. It is a sprint pcs phone, and I used it on the sprint network with no modifications to it or custom software. I have been using an Seido 3300 mAh battery for about a month.
Found out that I can charge it if I can manage to get the USB port in the right position, it is loose and probably needs to be replaced because the solder points broke. I was able to find the replacement USB jack.

My question is how am I going to solder those small contacts. I have a solder iron and have soldered dc jacks on to laptop motherboards so I have some experience, but these contacts are just so small, anybody have experience / recommendations for soldering the new jack on?
I like to use a jewelers loupe when soldering very small components and of course you will need an extremely fine tip.

I bought the phone used and I am currently with virgin mobile. You are right, I could just signup for sprint service with insurance, and make a claim after a few days, but it's something I know I can fix and plus I want to unlock it and use it for boost mobile.
It might still be under warranty? I'll have to see how to make an ram for that.
I can see the contacts very well with my glasses, I mainly need to stabilize it for the de soldering braid.
I can not get my Bravo with MIUI to charge. All was going well until it just stopped charging one night and when thebattery drained that was it. No LED's turn on when plugged in or anything at all.
Is this a software or hardware issue?
Should I send this back to AT&T since I have warranty or should I try to fix this some other way?
Hey, I've had a problem like this before and the only thing left for me to do was to get a replacement. I didn't have insurance because I didn't really think about it much. BUT I was in the 90 day warranty period(thankfully). So I received my replacement phone. Which Is the same one.

I just got my Bravo back from Motorola warranty service for a borked USB port. Only took 9 months of plugging/unplugging until the port would not hold the cable connector, and (of course) would not charge or sync. Got it back in about a week, and I am much more careful with it now. BTW, I got my Bravo on Amazon with a contract extension, so AT&T was not interested in helping since I didn't buy the phone from them. If you did, they may make good on it. Otherwise, they'll probably point you to Motorola (whose first question when I called was "Where did you buy the phone?")
Only some chargers work, same for USB cables.some only work in certain positions. A local place well fix it for $90.00 think that is a good deal?

It's a delicate job, so it'll be worth some $$$. Don't know how much.
On the other hand, you can probably buy a phone with broken screen for less, and just mix the parts into one phone, if you're technically inclined.

I've had the sane problem. What I did I called tmobile up told them my phone won't go on and they sent me a new one. That was about a year ago and they never charged me for it.
I thought this when used. That probably will not work for me.

My personal MyTouch 4G stopped charging from one minute to the other a few months ago. I found a place in Texas that charges $ 49.99 to fix the charging port issue. I think that $ 90.00 is a little bit much. You pay via PayPal, you send the phone to them (make sure you insure it, it's worth the money in case the package gets lost), they fix it within 48 hours and send the fixed phone back to you and they'll provide you with a tracking number as well. Worked like a charm for me, my phone is up and running without any problems since. Please PM me if you need their website
