I've Hard Bricked a ZTE Blade (Orange San Francisco) after flashing corrupt TPT files.
It will not go into download mode, recovery mode or switch on.
There is no signs of life at all, no LED lights or anything.
they battery is 100% charged.
Windows does not recognise it (Drivers are installed).
All I need help with is forcing it into download mode and I can do the rest from there.
Will a USB jig (300k ohms) work?
Download mode buttons I'm using,
Volume +, Volume - and Power.
Also tried,
Home, Volume - and Power.

Do you know a link for the correct TPT. gen1-to-gen2.zip I've downloaded from sanfrancisco site 5 times and its corrupt every time.
Can you put the TPT on ext. SD.

I think I've told you before. Download files only from Modaco or Xda. Why do you go to other sites? I've posted the GEN1 TO GEN2 V10 TPT in your other post regarding the same topic.

Maybe your browser has issues. Place the "image" folder on the sdcard root directory.

Could it be because I'm using my galaxy s2 browser.
Can the files be emailed?
If yes could you please email them to [email protected]

Yours would be the first hard brick I've ever seen on a blade. Maybe you should try asking where you purchased it.
Sent from my ZTE Blade using XDA app
Its not mine.
I didn't purchase it.
It's my cousins.
Think he bought it used.
Off Ebay or something like that.
Do you think a mobile repair shop could fix it.
Or is there anything else i can try.
Thanks for all your help.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA
Mobile repair shops can in turn spoil it even more IF your device isn't bricked already. My advise would be to keep trying different methods or to open a thread at modaco. Blade users are more active there. Maybe someone can help there.
Sent from my ZTE Blade using XDA app
You'll need Jtag equipment, another working blade & you'll need to know how to use Jtag. Some mobile phone shops may be able to fix it, especially if they sell second hand orange san franciscos. If you can't even get the charging LED to light or download mode, then nothing else will fix it. Probably going to cost you about £20 to get somebody to fix it for you (I can't - don't have the equipment), or more for the jtag equipment (which can also be used to fix similar problems with other devices).
I broke my phone with a bad TPT when I was experimenting to try to create the gen1-to-gen2 TPT, flashed the wrong combination of files. It's always a (small) risk when you're flashing low level firmware like that, TPT is the safest method, but things can still go wrong & break your phone beyond easy repair.
Need to read the guides fully & make sure that you take all precautions (like checking the md5) before any TPT, to minimise the chance of it happening.
There was a German guy on Modaco who'd fix phones using Jtag if you posted it to him & paid (I think €20), I can't remember his username & don't know if he's still there, since I'm banned from Modaco.
Think it would be easier getting a new zte blade theyre not that expensive now

They're still selling for over £50 on ebay. Go to your nearest independent/second hand phone shop & see if they can do anything, it should be cheaper than buying another. They'll need to have a spare san francisco, jtag equipment & the knowledge to use it.
Either that or sell the old one for spares/repair.

Hey, did you manage to unbrick?
I have un-bricked my blade
heres how I did it.
next to the camera on the back of the phone there is a little hole. in that little hole is a button (you will need a pin to press it).
well I pressed that button and it allowed me to put my phone into DFU mode, it allows you to do step five of this: This
Anyway hope this helps you
P.S I had the same problems as the OP

Hey xda-friends that is my first thread so please be generous.
On topic:
I have a unlocked sgs 8gb from germany i made my first update from 2.1 to 2.2(jp6) with the reghack via kies than i made myself a jig cable just in case......
Now my customitations began oclf2 new luncher gingerbread keyboard and so on i am very happy with performance and everything .....
So my question would be is there a good reason i am missing to update to the new 2.2.1 releases (i don't have recovery avaible just download mode via jig .
i am not really into modyfying my bootloader (3btn fix) but i would do it if it is really needed ......
Thank u in advance for any suggestions tips or help

My first upload with this phone went wrong and I did not have the 3-button combo. Had to send it in for repair and got it back again without the 3-button combo. First thing I did was enable it by flashing a new bootloader (this time I used Win XP x86 instead of Win 7 x64 as Odin did not seem to work well on Win7 here).
I did it because I knew I was going to do uploads again, I simply want to be able to use the latest roms
If you can live without flashing roms (unofficial ones) then there's no need to flash the bootloader although I can imagine that even with the official updates from KIES something can go wrong.
However with your cable that enables the download mode, you should be able to recover from any faulty flash. Recovery mode can always be accessed from a reboot command line.
As for 2.2.1, I'm very happy with the performance (no lag seen so far) and especially the battery usage seems promising in my current config. However it takes time to evaluate a new rom as the first days of usage are normally not representative for general usage patterns of the phone. If you want to know peoples opinions, I'm afraid you'll have to wait a few more weeks.
P.S.: I did the update to 2.2.1 using the KIES registry hack
How to do registry heck? Is it dangers for the phone? I don't have 3 combo buttons work.

You can find the application here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=835628
You will basically make KIES think that you have a different product code which allows you to install an update that is limited to a certain region only.
Full instructions are in the thread above, make sure to read those before you start with this.

If you can flash with odin does this mean you can get Download mode(home, vol DWN and Pwr)? If so recovery of firmwares is no problem in the event of a brick.

Hi to all.
Trying to resolve problem that I have with non working GPS (rather trying to determine if hardware or software problem) I have flashed various images of android on device.
On last flash i have bricked phone (green android logo and ftm ). After couple of tpt attempts i have tried tpt of orange sff (mine phone has orange logo). After that phone showed that it is locked to network but i could not unlock it. I have than flashed another tpt with fw and it all went fine. got back CM7 and my restored files. I then checked with Blade checker and now it displays that this is stock/windows upgraded gen2 phone but i know that this is gen1 phone.
Question is : How do i revert back to gen1? If this question is answered before please point me where. I'm having bad week and searching thru forum is taking too much time for me.

Fellow XDA friends,
A couple weeks ago my phone slipped out of my hand and the digitzer broke...
I ordered a new digitizer from Ebay and i managed to replace it.
Now comes the BUT..
i cracked my SD card slot ( i think ) the sd card wont stick in there and when i push it in it won't read it..
Now i'm still on a verry buggy build from Jelly bean so i want to have a stable rom.
Can anyone give me specific directions how i can flash my rom via ADB or anything like that ?
I was also thinking about mounting my laptop as SD card but that won't work out right..
Thankss

Try this link. Step 2 depends on your phone. You need to load the bootloader. For the dhd that's power and volume down. You must be rooted and eng s-off.

Hello all.
I have come into the possession of a broken MB525. The touch screen was completely broken so I sent it in for repairs. They replaced the touch and everything and they even needed to reheat the motherboard and do some work on it in order to get the phone to start since that was cracked as well.
Well the phone is currently working but apparently it is loaded with a 2.3.6 MB526 stock rom, so it basically reads it as a Defy+ which is wrong. The first problem with it would be the restarts. It has moments when it works fluidly and it has moments when it restarts every 30 seconds. Is this due to the damaged board or is this due to the battery? If it's due to the board I'd rather know about it now so I can just take it easy with it.
The second problem is that I can't get the Internal Storage detected. Even if I put it in USB mass storage, I have no access to the internal SD card. Is this normal?
The third problem is that I can't root. SuperOneClick or any other program that I have tried does not work, getting stuck in Shell root step 7. Is this because of the MB526 firmware? If so, how do I flash a MB525 firmware and which one exactly do I flash for Romania, Europe? I'm going to replace it anyway, I just want the phone rooted with CWM and then I'm going to get CM11.
Thanks guys.
Use this app for root http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=37508806
Then install Quarx CM10 Rom it's the most stable with everything working. After this come back here and tell us if you have other problems.

It won't root like this. Only one of the versions of the above program works and the Gimli exploit just crashes to home screen while the other one doesn't work. I have the MB526 Retail Central Europe 2.3.6 Version. What about my internal storage? Why doesn't it show up?

My problem is that my Acer A500 turns on like it should and starts to boot up but once it gets to the Acer logo screen, that's the furthest you'll get. I've been looking for a solution for the past 6 hours or so and either a) what the thread says to do to resolve the problem doesn't work or b) even though there were links to the files I need to fix it, all of the Ice Cream Sandwich UPDATE.ZIP files no longer have working links/URLs so downloading the firmware has been next to impossible.
Does anyone know where I can find the ICS update ROMs for my tablet and a guide to fixing this problem?
Anyone have any idea as to an alternative method to fix the issue, in case I'm still running into the same problem?
Do u have the cpuid of the tab...See the guide in my Sig on how to retrieve it. If u can get it then it's a lot easier to repair yr tab. If you cannot retrieve the cpuid u could try the update.zip in the root guide which is also in my Sig. However if the update.zip will not get u booting then you'll need the cpuid using the Linux retrieval method.

Again the issue I'm having is that all of the files it says to download have links that no longer work. If anyone knows of any sites with working links to what I need to obtain the CPUID , I'd greatly appreciate if you'd post them for me.
