OK guys,i paid for plan TMOBILE WEB $9.99
with this plan i set up the APN is epc.tmobile.com for any fone like IPHONE,ORIGINAL HERO it work like a charm, but how come with MY TOUCH and use with HERO rom i cant do that, its always show me the screen upgrade to 24.99 plan
if you dont believe what img oign to say, load up the mytouch wtih the factory rom and see what happens.
t-mobile has a list of imei's for the mytouches and forces them onto the 24.99 plan.
Strange.
Verify your APNs and perhaps upgrade your plan.
You could even "claim" to T-Mobile that you have certain features without plan information access and they might provide you with the "internet" setting necessary to launch a "WAP" browser.

My grandfathered $7.99 t-zones worked with my mytouch for the first day and it gave me that message. Was going to activate it anyway, but just forgot. My friend told me that his iphone no longer works with EPC access point in hawaii
Hello,
So I've recently moved from 3G land (the US) to a country that only offers WAP internet (with an oh-so-generous 25mb monthly cap). I signed up for the service and all the settings were emailed to me for manual entry since officially they don't support android devices (aka never seen one). Long story short things never worked (although I get an Edge icon in the status bar, nothing works). I had to go to the mobile operator's main HQ and no one there could figure anything out (interestingly they mentioned that they have similar issues with getting WAP to work on the iphone). Which lead me to believe that I guess that these new smartphones don't support WAP anymore (understandably so, since its a pretty outdated way to get internet on your phone).
So my question is, has anyone faced a similar issue before? Do you know of any way to get WAP-only internet working on my G1?
P.S.: on GSMArena.com, the specs on a phone such as the Nokia E72 state
"Browser: WAP 2.0/xHTML, HTML"
whereas for the G1 it says,
"Browser: HTML"
So perhaps, if I can't get all my apps to work, I can at least find an android browser that supports WAP? Anyone knows of such a browser?
Thanks alot!!
The bunch of info that they sent you is to set up the WAP gateway to access websites through WML - you don't need the encoding on android because android access HTML sites directly.
Ask for GPRS.
I had already asked for GPRS, and it's only available for the way overpriced post-paid plan, and once you "upgrade" to post-paid you can never go back to prepaid. (amazing how little companies give a damn when they're in a monopolistic position)
So WAP on Android is no go??
I've never used it (the add on, that is), but MCR 3.2, an Android 1.5 custom ROM for Heros, comes with an optional enhanced add on pack that includes a WAP browser.
I don't know if this is of any direct use to you, but if not, perhaps it could help lead you to a solution? Looks like you'd need the app & one lib file, out of the zip, assuming you can use this code as it stands.
Hello fellow tweakers,
I recently changed from provider. My current provider (tringg.nl) is using the network of an other provider (kpn.nl) in our country. This is called, what i know, national roaming.
The problem is that my HTC HD2 cannot see the difference between national and international roaming. Therefore I cannot forbid my phone to connect to foreign country providers. And I keep seeing that ugly roaming icon in the taskbar.
Does somebody have the same issue?
Or does someone have a solution to this?
Is there some way to change/overwrite the home network provider?
Thanks,

I hear people say that the iphone does not see this as roaming.
So how can we make this work on Windows Mobile aswell?
Anybody?
What you should do is download an app called 'dial up enabler/disabler gprs' (search for it on this site). Each time you go abroad you will have to manually turn off your data connection, but it works for me.
In the apps like Twitter, Weather, etc. you can check allow to download when roaming.
Dio, thanks for your reply.
I am aware of this app but i would like to fix the root cause.
There must be a way to modify the home network.
For the time being i will have to set every thing to roaming allowed.
I have a Dell Streak formally locked to Rogers in Canada running StreakDroid 1.6.1 rom. Have setup a sim for my Bell Mobility acct and have voice and txt but no internet. Sim is setup for hspa network on bell and my network settings are set at GSM/CDMA. Have modified Access point settings with no success. According to bell my IMEI# is compatible with thier network. What do I do to get my hspa working?

Not Android Development
Moving to General
Google APN settings for Bell Mobility - you should be able to easily find what your APN settings should be. Then on your Streak go to
menu/settings/Wireless & networks/Mobile networks/Access Point Names
From there you can hit the menu and then New APN and input the settings you found with your Google search. Once you get a new one for Bell (or you could have just changed the settings in the existing entry if that would be easier) set the new one as the default and you should be good to go.
I have unlocked my US Cellular SM-N900R4 on Lilipop, and am now trying to get it working on T-mobile. After the local USC store unlocked it, I added an APN editor from the Playstore, and now have the data working for the LTE connection. The problem that i am having is that it gives a 'no Sim or Sim Error' when trying to place calls, probably due to the network setting not allowing me to select GSM / LTE network option. The only 2 options for network selection LET / CDMA or CDMA.
The following thread was for unlocking a Sprint G2 for Tmobile, but gave some good info but the apps just wornt work on my Note 3 on lilipop.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2729370
The radio switcher app crashes, as well as the other ones that i saw on the PlayStore, so i cant select a GSM option
I was able to install an APN app to get the data working, so now i just need to get the voice / calls working. I was able to install the Rom Toolbox Lite app from the store, but there is no
ro.carrier=???
ro.build.target_operator=???
available from the build properties. Instead there are CDMA operator values for US Cellular and the 310??? value for US Celllar. Should i change this value to 'None'? IF so, what is the decimal value for the 'None' carrier option?
Can anyone give me some suggestions? are these apps specific to the Sprint G2 or to the android version? Is there a custom rom that might enable these settings?
Thanks in advance for any assistance or re-direction to information on the subject.
Suggestion would be to use the Sprint forums .
