Hi to all,
I'm currently an happy used of the Semaphore 1.8.2 kernel, but with it I can only undervolt my CPU, now I'm looking for a Stock Kernel (JVT compatible) able to undervolt RAM/GPU/Screen too, if exists of course?
Any idea?
Thanks to all.

MAybe Cf-root kernels, I'm running on it and uv/oc it with tegrak overlock, works fine untill 1.2 GHz. Didn't try 1.3 GHz, afraid of crash.
Undervolting screen, and RAM requires recompiling the kernel AFAIK. Talon and Galaxian does that if I'm not mistaken. Not sure about Semaphore though.
I have no idea if someone did it for SGS I... for sure, GPU voltage/frequency can be changed for SGS II (e.g. by Click... I didn't saw anything like this for SGS yet.
You'll need combination for kernel, e.g talon as mentioned above, and "Control Freak" app. Still, I did not saw anything for RAM.
Why not trying one of the alternative kernels?
SpeedMod, Midnight and Semaphore are pretty good and stable kernels and all of them allow UV.

Yes I have done a long testing on TalonDEV, really great Kernel (also if in Developing status)!
Thanks again!

Thanks, yes at the end I choose the Semaphore 1.9.0 (Big Memory version) with a little modified ScreenScale Status script, a long tested extreme undervolt (of CPU core and non-core voltages) and freezing more not used system apps and services, a customized JuiceDefender Ultimate, and a bit more... so now I can obtain about 48 hours of battery life (expecially when I don't do any reboot7recovery/new-flash... ehehehe!)!
And that's all!
These days talondev and semaphore on top. But semaphore is better a bit now for me.

i use talonDEV because in seem to be stable on low frequencies
i set 100mhz 200mhz max when the screen is off and semaphore freeze my galaxy, with talonDEV work well
i have to try the undervolt parameters, but iusing juice defender i save my battery even if not UV

Yes really the Semaphore 1.8.2 (I don't try with the latest 1.9.0) freeze the phone on 100-200 Mhz in sleep status but I chose it instead of TalonDev for the following motives:
1)...I had some little icon display problems (only 1-2 times) with TalonDEV (draws a little black box in the Icon upper-right corner);
2)...with Semaphore my quadrant score is higher (about 15%/20% more) and generally the system is more fluid and responsive
3)...with the Semaphore Script (installed from the kernel) I'm really able to customize more and more my kernel but with the TalonDEV I can only change the Memory Options (with it's custom application).
What do you think about?
Hi all
I just did this Mms.apk for myself, which includes some of the Yolks Emoticons and I thought it could be nice to share it with you.
I just put it in my Nexus S i9023, it works greatly and emoticons show in both sent and received messages...
To be honest i've never seen or used xml in my whole life but i did this customization in an hour or less and i put it in my /system/app directory. Suddenly the phone rebooted by itself and optimized the new Mms.apk, so no crashes or bricks.
Anyway i'm not responsible for anything and use it at your own risk
P.S.: ah right... it can be used correctly with english or italian language (which is my main language )
I really like the emoticons . The only problem is the Smiley face shortcut on my keyboard still shows the faces with noses

Mine too, I think that depends on the keyboard
this only changes the bindkeys when you tap on "Add Emoticon" from the menu

I'm not sure... I'm studying for my last university exam because i'm going to graduate the next month and i don't have much free time at the moment Then I'm going to learn how to build Android apps.
By the way it depends on which keyboard are you using. I use swype for example
I already planned to edit the colors of the Mms.apk in order to have a black skin instead of a white one, so it shouldn't be hard to edit the keyboard too if you are patient
Editing the system apks isn't as hard as I expected so I wonder why it's impossible to find custom-themed apps to replace the original ones
Nice work...
After a little while the Smiley faces seem to disappear and resort to stock... Then I have to reinstall the app. I'm not sure why...

Awesome Smileys Love them!!!
Our device doesn't have a physical recent menu button as that of ICS standard. Long pressing home button is not convenient some times. I have seen some developers providing mod to use search button for recent menu, but that is not the correct way of solving.
Here is my idea.
What about using home button for recent t menu and adding a fixed home link as the first item in recent menu.
Check the screen shot, some thing similar to that.
Waiting for replies from developers.

While it may be a good idea,
I doubt it will be nice to have on a day to day basis. If a toggle to enable or disable this is made then good. If not i think it won't make much of a difference.
Now we have the recent tasks toggle in status bar itself. so.. it depends. But will be nice to have around
But how will you use voice search

This seems like a hassle to me... It makes it longer and more tedious to get to the home screen. You're trading ease of multitasking for ease of getting home. It gets rid of the problem and makes a new one. The search button recents app is so much faster and easier.
I'm not bashing your idea don't get me wrong . I can see potential.... but it kind of seems redundant to me right now.

Agreed.
Now getting back to home takes two clicks. Also, you have to wait for the Recent Apps list to load (which does take some time.)
All so that we have the search key readily available? That key isn't even used as most apps provide a button on-screen for search.
I'd imagine this would only be useful to people who use Voice Commands a lot.

My recent tab has no wait/load time? Try changing the window animation speed. And yeah, most apps integrated a search button to cope with ICS and for general easy of use. I never use voice commands or the search button... Now I finally have a use for it.

Compared to recent apps GB style there is a period of time where the screenshots have to fill in the cache. On ICS, if you select recent apps, I find there is about a 1-2 second wait. After it's done caching if you access the recent apps list again it's instantaneous.
The GB style recent apps list is always instantaneous since it doesn't have to load the screenshots of all the recent apps.

if you r running Temple Run without lags can you share your settings
1.ROM
2.Kernel
3.governer (+settings)
4.IO schedular
5.OC + min/max speeds
6.other settings may help
please share as much details as you can
Thanks
Slim ICS ROM. latest version, with Matr1x 18.5. I have the default scheduler. set at 200/1000 or 1200 with smartassV2. I use the supercharger script with option 5 and lag nullifier.
Other then that, I keep stuff running in the backround to a minimum. On the kernel, I use CFS, but if you are looking for gaming then try using the BFS version.
I just have unrooted nexus s with android 4.0.4 and it runs temple run with little to no lag also don't store it on SD card... makes it slower for some reason

It only lags if i have 3g or wifi on.weird.

Check my signature. I have my phone Underclocked and I don't have lag or force closes.
I don't experience them with wifi or data on either. Although if you do it could be receiving data from the server or sending data to post your score or something. That would obviously slow it down.
There is only one thing you need to do to get rid of the lag, you don't have to go through the trouble of flashing a new ROM. Just go to your settings. Make sure it isn't on the SD card, move it to USB storage.
Although if you are switching ROMs and everything I'll give you some extra information. I forced GPU rendering. I have v6Supercharge script, option 5 + Nitrolagnullifier. Min free task killer takes 75 MB of RAM to itself. And I have every start-up tweak enabled.

Had no lags with:
- Codename Android 1.60 (ICS 4.0.3) + Air Kernel 3.8 (now using this combo, works very well)
- Slim ICS 3.1&3.2 + Air Kernel 3.8 (switched to CNA because of some annoying bugs, but also stable)
Matr1x Kernel 18.5 was laggy and unstable. (tested with CNA, Slim, Brainmasters)
ondemand, noop, 100-1000 MHz

I know a few other threads on this have been posted but... I was messing around with some Voodoo color settings (freely) and I found settings that literally made me stare in awe.
These colors have the richest blacks I have ever seen on my phone, while providing the deepest and smoothest other colors. It is really stunning. I love them.
--------------------
Here are the settings:
*Gamma offset
Red (-59)
Green (-59)
Blue (-59)
*RGB Multipliers
Red (2309xxxxxx)
Green (2563xxxxxx)
Blue (3001xxxxxx)
--------------------
I used the Voodoo app. Try and get the first 3 digits correct, or very close to them. The other 7 shouldn't be noticeable to the human eye .
With themes and framework overwrites that bring out the black in your screen (I'm using Blue Infinitum and a keyboard MOD) you get even more just out of the experience. The black fuses with the screen, it's crazy.
Let me know what you think!

AMOLED screens save power the darker the image, as well as the higher the wavelength of light (Power use: white > blues > greens > reds least). No backlight, so if a particular colour looks darker it'll use less battery.
I can't comment on these settings though because i'm all too happy with my already perfect SC-LCD

ha thanks for this! it's only dark voodoo settings like these that make ICS colors bearable to me (I can't stand the drab grey!)
very nice! with samoled, black uses the least battery....the darker the black, the less battery. great battery saving settings!!!

Well, I removed 'Auto-Brightness' and it seemed to resolve the issue. I'll check for awhile. Thanks man!!!
the settings may look nice, but when the screen dims from having to turn up the brightness a tad to prevent it from having a strange color-faded screen, it turns to a odd shade of a faded yellow...

i think gamma offset with punchy settings and rgb values of 2251394080, 2516943200, and 3336681600 respectively, with brightness turned up a tad seem fine. doesnt change a different color when it dims as well
