And Rooting, etc worked fine, but I can't instal CWM or it does not work for some reason... I copied the Recovery.img to the folder but when i restart the phone and hold Vol+ and power the phone simply won't boot.

Hey, i tested Rom manager app and it detects my phone as U8160 instead of U8800, no problem with that?

It's problem with some roms but just press cancel. Reboot into recovery option doesn't need that. Rom manager detects u8800 only on 32 kernel custom roms.

Something must be wrong with the recovery files i've been downloading... i used rom manager to reboot in to recovery and the phone simply stays stuck @ Huawei logo... And if i try to power on + Vol+ it won't start at all. You don't have a working Recovery image somewhere by any chance?

Edit...

What firmware you are using?
If it's B522 or newer, do this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1457490
Now, turn your phone off and take battery out. Hold volume+, volume- and power button. Your phone should now turn into pink screen. connect it to computer via USB. On your computer go disk(phone)>image and replace recovery image with cwm. Don't forget rename new recovery to recovery.img take battery out to turn off phone.
If not working I suggest you re-flash firmware, but I have still one method left if you don't want to do it.

By what i can see I have this one:
U8800V100R001C00B517G001
I know that it's an old one but all the links are dead or removed for my unfortune.
Gonna try with that method instead, that was the method i used on the previous 2.2 Rom, didn't thought of doing it like that again, just followed the tutorial

Recopy
I'd say re-download and re-copy the recovery.img file using ES File Explorer, check the permissions, and then reboot your phone.
I found that I need to hold down Vol + and power for a few seconds even AFTER the Huawei logo is already showing.
ROM Manager doesn't detect your phone so I wouldn't use that.
Hope this helps

I re-downloaded the file from another place(it was bigger than the one I had), and did all the steps again and it's working. The file I had must had something wrong.
Now it's running DZO's Aurora ICS and wow what a difference between both android versions.
Thanks to everyone that helped me.

I had the same problem with mu Huawei U8800 (normal not pro), when I updated to 2.3 back in march this year, what I did, I went back and reinstalled the Beta version that came back in 2011 (v18) as I had saved it on my school computer (you can try and also search on google if there are some huawei beta roms for u8800 still available as I got mine from a past backup), then with that I was able to boot holding the volume + and - keys together with the power button I got the pink screen, and now I was able to copy and replace the CWM 'recovery' image when I connected the USB cable to the computer, Then I removed the cable and when I pressed the power button and the volume button + button i got CWM. To all the developers who came up with this. You are all amazing!

Thank you. One thng.... it says flash in recovery mode, how do i do that?
Plug the device into the mains, plug the usb cable to pc and device. Open hardware manager on your pc. Then hold the back button for 2 secs, then while still holding the back button hold the power button down for 2 secs, then keep holding the back button for a further 2 secs. In the usb section of your hardware manager a nvidia recovery will show up. The screen on the device will remain black. That is nvidia recovery mode.

So do I need not do it as I have your ROM for now?
Also... what is a nandroid back up and how do you do it?
nandroid backup is part of clockwork mod. It creates a entire back up of your current rom, to restore if a new rom flash goes wrong.

1. Press power button, Choose reboot into recovery or something like that.
2. When the screen turns off half way, press power button to turn off the screen completely. Once screen turns off completely, let the power button go. wait for 1, 2 seconds.
3. Then press power button until you see the screen is changed. Once you see the screen changes, let the button go. You should be in the recovery mode.
Most of the people using vega comes from android phone, so they are pretty familiar with the recovery thingy
Hope it works for you.

Can't pass HTC welcome screen

Hi, Guys
I was trying to root the phone by using the hack-ace.cmd and when I get into the final step - updating the ROM from SD card...I accidentally pull out the cable and then the screen stays on the welcome HTC logo forever.
I have tried the volume down button + power or home + power or even re-root the phone. It came back HTC logo again. But the screen will change to something else when I trying to re-root the phone. The process acually successful, but it still report errors in the very end saying "USB connection fail" or "Golden Card fail".
Here are the steps I followed,
Steps for this process:
1. Download the Advanced Ace Hack Kit
2. Extract the files
3. Install Desire HD drivers in /tools/windrivers/
4. Connect the device via USB and turn on USB Debugging in Settings-Applications-Development
5. Run the hack-ace.cmd as Administrator and start the process by typing "1" and "Enter"
6. The process will run and will take about 5-6 minutes to complete
7. Download your ROM of choice, do not extract it, and copy the .zip to the device SD card
8. Rename the file to "update.zip"
9. Power off your device
10. To boot in the bootloader, perform a battery pull, reinstate the battery, and hold the volume down and power buttons
11. Using the volume buttons to navigate, and power button to make selections, boot into Recovery, clear the cache, and select 'install update from sdcard'.
12. When the flashing process has completed, reboot your device and wait about 3-4 minutes for it to boot fully
13. You device is now rooted and has a custom ROM installed
I strongly believe, I forgot to power off the device and go straight to the bootloader and pressed the install update.zip from SD card.
Then I also believe that I used a corrupted ROM from a crap website, which is about 75Mb...Not normal, right?
The screen turn into HTC logo and I waited for 2mins and seen no changes, hence I pulled the cable out....
The final result is that I always get the HTC logo even if I tried to install new ROM file downloaded from a valid site.
Now the problem solved. Love your guys

Dude here is the rooted stock ATT ROM it includes the radio. Just download place in root of gold card then go to bootloader with power - volume button. it will recognize the PD98IMG file, will ask to load volume up for yes then let it do its thing. Please search and read before you attempt anything with phone. AS ADVICED ON XDA FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK.

This is the rooted ATT updated ROM with radio do not rename file just place in root of SD (Not in any folder) Good Luck.

Hi mate, I am still little bit confused. You said "place in root of gold card" then "do not rename file just place in root of SD"........I am not professional, but I heard the Goldencard before.. Should I just download the PD98IMG.zip then send it to SD card then go to the bootloader see how it goes?

Yes, u need to flash PD98IMG.ZIP to have your device working back. If your phone is branded , it will require gold card which u should create it one for your device to recognize it or u may download the above mentioned zip file to ur pc then copy to ur sd card first, and get the phone into bootloader mode to see If it could recognize in case ur phone is not branded, If it is so, then u can save time for not creating goldcard and progress to flash the rom from as card.
Remember no need to rename the file. Ur responding in this thread is on & off, users here could not help u when u urge to get ur phone working back.

Messed bootloader, cant downgrade, Bricked. Upgrade ICS. SOLVED

I moment have latest Oxygen.
English is not my mother language, so can someone explain step by step with DL links, how to do this.

Not good at english, but i try:
This is my story.
At first i tried install any stock rom, but cant get them installed, cause with 2gb sd, i get always pink screen.
Then tried put /dload into inner card, root directory. Installed Estonia Elisa (stock) like charm. Updated to 2.3.5 also, everything ok. but when tried to get back unlocked pinkscreen vith this tutorial
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1457490&page=6
then in my case, it just bootloop. Also as i remember, cant go to pink screen /image.
So installed ubuntu and there i can see partitions. Replaced recovery with newest, get all back. 2.3.5 (installed again), pink screen locked.
So i root phone as in tutorial, and replaced recovery into folder as writed in tutorial.
Then BAM! at first recovery screen (+ power) blue screen, and locked pink.
Then (+ power) stopped working. but pink still work.
But figured out how install firmware updates.
from inner card, no sd in slot - install (ofc. failes)but this method work.
with outer sd. SD in my case MUST BE 512mb only, so it will install. (failes in my case). with battery or usb cable - no effect
In linux cant see partition also and it shows just U8120 device instead of 8800
Totally messed up bootloader or partition. I dont know.
Thanks to my hero dancer_69 he somehow found that china page.
Downloaded http://filespart.com/dl/ds7ltr.html
putted into /dload that update what in archive. just only this file from zip.
and i got back unlocked pinkscreen. Replaced /image folder (jeah i had some backup)
Putted again 2.3.5 into outer sd card and installed as charm.
After that everything goes normal. As followed tutorial.
root, recovery, aurora.
After aurora was installed, i waited about 15 min and disconnected power.
after that factory reset and that it.
So if you cant install firmware update from sd card. Dont use 2gb or bigger. 512 works fine, instead of 2gb. or try differet cards.

Oxygen is .32 so it's upgrade if you install gingerbread.
Try to find B518 version of gingerbread because you don't need to root it. Just install CWM 5.5.0.4 and flash aurora ics.
So,
1. make folder "dload" to your external sdcard.
2. put update.app file in dload folder.
3. turn off phone and start it holding volume+ and volume- buttons and power button.
4. update should start
i have rooted ideos.
with - + power i get pink screen.
So i have B518 but its app, i dont know how o install it.

That doesn't give you recovery, that only restores unlocked bootloader for those who installed stock 2.3.5 higher than beta 1..
To install recovery, you must copy recovery.img v5.5.0.4 (it's in the dev section) over original recovery.img that's inside the "image" folder of the pink screen, using USB.
After that, start the phone pressing and keeping pressed vol + / power at the same time until recovery comes up.

Well, I don't know what else is failing... bear in mind that for recovery to boot you have to keep pressed vol + / power button simultaneously for quite a bit. Even if normal recovery doesn't show up, huawei's recovery should...

did you repartition your internal memory for CM?
It may be possible that your /system is not large enough for your stock ROM.
Flash CM again and see if it works,
(if you are not sure about partition size,in terminal emulator type df -h, and report how much you get for system. for stock you need 200+ MB)

also as u suggested i tried download tpt helper but i couldn't find a way to install tpt helper from play store. my phone is not going further from the dell logo, once i press the power button the dell logo appears on the screen and remains that way no matter how long i leave it to process further. dead end. i think its the situation that should be called "bricked"...:crying:

Take out battery n put it again. Then try by pressing vol- and power button. If nothing happens then u can download tpt from desktop and copy image file to sdcard. Then flash it by pressing vol+ and menu and power button together
Sent from my Blade using xda app-developers app
i tried replacing the battery then powering on pressing vol- and power button but still nothing is happening... please give the link to download tpt...

[Q] Tried to install oxygen 2.2.2 from 2.3.5, did my ideos brick?

I can't enter the cwm, tried to install oxygen 2.2.2 from original 2.3.5. I can't enter the pink screen + I can't enter the firmware update (to the stock 2.3.5, it says that the update failed). On a normal boot up, it resets 1 time then it enters Android system recovery <3e>, it forcefully formattes the /cache, failes to mount /data_pseudo etc. Any ideas ?

Any of above that you need ?
I can enter the pink screen, but when i plug it with the usb into my computer, it doesnt detect it. Doesn't mather which ROM I try to install under the 3e system recovery, it always says, that the update package is not correct, does this mean, that i need a oxygen 2.2.2. update because I installed it over stock 2.3.5 ?

When it says : Finding update package... , I tried to install a ROM.
You have a locked bootloader from b52* and that's why you can't see your drive in pink screen.
Did you try to install froyo like i said? It might work. If it won't uhmm...

I did try it already (the old http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1149150&highlight=oxygen), among with all the other ROM's on xda for u8800. I don't really know what to do :crying:

I'm not sure we are on the same page...
I didn't ask you to install oxygen, i was talking about the stock froyo; Huawei's original firmware?
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/1352963/U8800V100R001C00B138SP04CUSTESTC205D001EsthoniaElisa.rar
this is b138 (froyo 2.2.2).
Extract the files, put update.app into a dload folder and paste it into your sdcard's main folder i mean it's gonna be /dload/update.app
Power off. Press both volume keys and power on. Wait for the update process to finish. Once rebooted it may give errors, don't worry.
Power off your phone, press power on + vol + button simultaniously and go into recovery. And then wipe data/cache. Reboot.
If that doesn't work, send your phone to warranty.

I did everything you said, but it always stops at the firmware update. It always fails to update at the end. I'll keep trying this method because I'm optimistic that it will work.
Tried to install almost all of the firmwares, non worked till now. It always says "Update failed" at 99% .
I somehow managed to get my pc to recognize my phone when in pink screen, it contains one folder; image.
In it, there are: amss.mbn, AMSS.rar, boot, cust and recovery.img, EMMCBOOT.rar, EMMCBOOT.MBN, total size=118 mb.
