Hi all,
I have a slight problem with my JASJAR, most times somebody calls me, I miss the phone call most times because I don't hear the phone ringing. I have sorted that out 90% of the time by making it vibrate and ring.
Anybody got a nice loud ringtone but funky? So I can hear it better? Or possibly a solution? I mean I have got all my volumes up on full. When I play music with Windows Media Player, it is nice and loud. Is there a way to get the ringtone the same volume?
Thanks.
get an audio editor for your pc (e.g. Audigy) and raise the base volume in the file.
Thing is, I play the file in Windows Media Player and its at a nice loud volume, now why cant the phone ring at that same volume, its all on max volume. Really sux

You may have set the system volume as maximum and not the phone volume?

Yeah I tried that too, I put everything as high as it can go, I jus dnt understand why, even when I choose the ringtone from the drop down list, its softer when I hear the preview of the selected file. In Windows Media Player with nothing changed its louder. Oh well.
I use Alice Cooper's Poison as a ringtone, preamped it in Windows Sound Recorder before transferring it as a wav to the phone - it's nice and loud and I have only failed to hear it once when it by some fluke started to ring roughly same time as the song came up on my MP3 player so I just thought I had a slight echo...
lol ok, well ill try amp it then, and see what happens, by how much did u amp it by?
I just did: "Increase volume by 25%" off the Effects menu of Windows Sound Recorder.
I used this rom for the last 2 days itis working nicely apart from the low sound volume .....Is there a solution for this?
?
low sound? mine sounds like always... it have good sound volume! But if you want you can control Bass & Trable with this program...
try to install the sound fixes.
I hope this help....
Still the sound is low
i noticed that sometimes sound becomes lower than usual if u talk and the phone and then hangup. i dont know why but it seems to work by holding the hangup button for ~ 5 secs or pressing it several times . maybe a Radio version issue ?

low music sound and phone!!!!
Notebook can please check ur inbox ? thanks
lollll the both things are on top loll...
you must now that tcmp have in equalizer a pre amplifier that give a litel more son, is threre a pre amplifier to phone?
If the low volume problem is while you're talking on the phone, there is a separate volume control for "in call". Pushing both sliders in the speaker control to the top won't change the "in call" setting. You have to push the sound control rocker on the side of the case while you're actually on the phone to access that one.
My XDA IIs also hv the same problem.
Before I flash the rom it's work fine.
But now the sound, ringtone and even on phone call also very low. But if use headset then it's working fine. Why?
Does anyone know if its possible to change the increment value for volume up/down? It seems to increase/decrease the volume by 20 each time the buttons are pressed. Would love to be able to adjust this to 10 or 25 instead.
I would like to know this too.
I'd like each time I press the side VOL UP or DOWN that the slider only moves 1 notch rather than 3 at a time. Sometimes when I'm in my bed listening to MP3's - 3 notches is too much!!!
I have same problem n asked a few days ago
I didnt find the best solution but found a solution none the less ..

Same problem for me.
This subject is talked in many threads here and in other forums but without any solution.
Any one can help please.
Thx
Yep - this really bugs me too when listening to music in a relatively quiet environment.
you can try using HD tweak to limit the max volume, i found that in doing this it decreased the amount of volume change per bar, of course this also limits the max volume to can ever have so its your call but setting it to its lowest seems plenty loud enough for me.
Its not perfect or even a solution but its a start.
whats really enoying is the alarm, you simply cant get windows basic alarm to be quiet, its either off or too loud, G-Alarm takes care of this however.
any leads on this? im assuming it is set somewhere in the registry? ideas guys??
cheers]
Mat
Nothing new about that ?
You can set the max music volume indipendantly to system volume. I have music volume set to 25% which makes is listenable across the whole range of system volumes.
I use Julien Schapmen's excellent Advanced Config Tool to set music volume, it's under the HTC Audio Manager section.

anyone please?
i guess there should be a reg value for this
Thank you
I'm guessing a software volume controller
and using a button mapper
could get around this
There I am listening to some cool tunes with my G2 and headphones. All of a sudden my ringtone BLASTS out in my headphones as someone is calling.
Can anyone advise how to have the ringtone sound at low volume when wearing 'phones, whilst leaving the ringtone at it's normal level when headphones aren't plugged in?
I could adjust the ring volume manually each time but surely there is an easier way.

Having the familiar problem that notifications sounds are played louder than ring sounds - always!
If i worked in HTC's R&D department, i'd be such a pain in the ar*e, as i'd never let any of this get through to the general public!
Who's testing this stuff?! Monkeys?!!

Go to Settings, Sound & Display and you will find that you can set the volume of Media, Ringtone and Notifications separately (Ringtones and Notifications are under Ringer Volume).
Alternatively, try Toggle Settings from the Market. You can set the volume of Ringtones, Alarms, Media and Notifications independently for each profile, and create a Headset profile which will turn up the Media volume and turn down the others. Unfortunately it is not possible to create an automatic Headset profile so you would still have to select the profile manually.

I dont know what I am doing wrong but I find the sound level extremely poor for calls
I tried with a bluetooth headset, the outside speaker and the jack with my mp3 headset
it's pretty weird since when I play videos or music I am impressed by how loud I can push the Tab...
I am on AT&T with JMC (but was the same on JM6). And I set the sound at max
anybody has the same issue? Am I doing something wrong? Or is there any sound booster app for calls? (and is it necessary?)
Thanks for your help
My Tab isn't phone-enabled, but since you're new to Android, I thought I should point out that there are multiple volume settings, and in-call volume is one of them. Menu Key -> Settings -> Sound Settings -> Volume should give you all the sliders (Ringtone, Media, Alarm, System, Notification...). There are apps/widgets too that let you get to/change these settings without having to go into the settings menu every time (audio manager has been a decent widget for me). Until you're actually in the call the hardware rocker is usually doing the ringtone or media volume.
When I use mine with Skype 60% is usually blaringly loud for me, and I don't even have the system or media volume maxed out.
Sorry if it's something you know you've done, but thought it might help. If not, maybe someone else has had the same issue and solved it.

yes this I had figured out and set at the maximum
Everything non call related is really strong... It's conversation from normal calls that is ridiculously low
Am I the only one ?? What's wrong with my tab ?
Anyone with an opinion about this ?
Voice-enabled on AT&T with JM6. Have good results with the built-in speakers and cheap Nokia BH-214 stereo Bluetooth earbuds. I ordered the OEM earbuds, but I do understand that the 3.5mm jack port in finicky. Is your Bluetooth 2.1 or newer? Do you have many open applications when trying to place or receive calls? I've notice the sound stutter a bit on the speakers when I've got several apps open.
Here's something I noticed, when in call using my BT Headset, the volume slider sometimes says its on max but the output isnt. Try to lower or increase your volume. Once you hear the max level beep, it gets louder.
Im on a SingTel Tab by the way.

Edit: yeah I can definitely reduce the volume but my max was my actual max. As anybody tried to compare the volume on the speaker when playing music whith the volume on the speaker when on a call... It's like 5 to 10 times higher volume on a call !! And then same issue on a headset

As mentioned I tried it with everything I could... The default external speaker, a simple stereo headset (Not bluetooth), a bluetooth headset. They all give the same. Low volume
If you don't like volume in speaker, headset, bluetooth....You can change settings in "hidden" Audio menu. There you can change volume of individual ouput, but be careful!!!!!
Before change anything, make sure you can put it back the same number if you are not satisfied or have problem ..so wright it somewhere anything you wish to change.
Good Luck with experiment. If I remember correctly(from my old Samsung i780-Windows phone) "TX" settings is for output and "RX" for imput, but I can be wrong, so be careful.

what I do is, when in a call, I lower the volume by about 2, then increase it until i hear the max volume beep. The moment i hear it, the volume on my headset usually jumps up.
I have the same problem with the speaker volume. At maximum you cannot hear it. The bluetooth seems to work OK. IIRC JK5 software seemed to work correctly.

So I guess for you too, music or movies play with a high volume on the speakers whereas for calls it's rather low volume ?
Yes bluetooth or headset I can hear but still quite low volume compared with music...

My problem is specifically for calls. Anything else is fine and working well. That's the weird issue... I dont want to boost the volume for anything else!
That's pretty weird... I have been playing with the tab and I found out that for calls, the highest level I can have (by hear) is two notches below the highest. That's by far the loudest I get (If I push higher the sound decreases)
Am I the only one ? It really pisses me off.... I don't know how it can be like that (I am on JMC ROM after flashing a JM6 ROM over the JK5 from Russia (I am on an AT&T Tab flashed to get phone working)
Someone else get the same experience ?
I can confirm that the max 'in call' volume is two notch below the max !!! And I have the same tab/setting of the OP.
Aren't there some codes you can enter to adjust the volume level on calls and music, etc.?? like the Galaxy S?

Thanks ! Ina sense I am a littel bit relieved to see I am not the only one !
Such a stupid bug. Come on Samsung...
FYI it is fixed with the firmware JME
Sound level is much more acceptable and the highest level is not anymore two notched below the max
