Ringtones - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

Hi all,
I have a slight problem with my JASJAR, most times somebody calls me, I miss the phone call most times because I don't hear the phone ringing. I have sorted that out 90% of the time by making it vibrate and ring.
Anybody got a nice loud ringtone but funky? So I can hear it better? Or possibly a solution? I mean I have got all my volumes up on full. When I play music with Windows Media Player, it is nice and loud. Is there a way to get the ringtone the same volume?
Thanks.

get an audio editor for your pc (e.g. Audigy) and raise the base volume in the file.

Thing is, I play the file in Windows Media Player and its at a nice loud volume, now why cant the phone ring at that same volume, its all on max volume. Really sux

You may have set the system volume as maximum and not the phone volume?

Yeah I tried that too, I put everything as high as it can go, I jus dnt understand why, even when I choose the ringtone from the drop down list, its softer when I hear the preview of the selected file. In Windows Media Player with nothing changed its louder. Oh well.

I use Alice Cooper's Poison as a ringtone, preamped it in Windows Sound Recorder before transferring it as a wav to the phone - it's nice and loud and I have only failed to hear it once when it by some fluke started to ring roughly same time as the song came up on my MP3 player so I just thought I had a slight echo...

lol ok, well ill try amp it then, and see what happens, by how much did u amp it by?

I just did: "Increase volume by 25%" off the Effects menu of Windows Sound Recorder.

mp3 ringtone volume and headphone problem

Hi,
I've just setup my phone to use my mp3 as a ringtone. It plays fine on an incoming call, except:
1) It plays at full (ie. scare the sh#t out of me FULL!) volume even with my volume control is set to very low
2) It always plays through the loudspeaker, rather than through the headphones when I have them attached
Is there some settings that I missed?
thanks
fixed problem 1
Hi again,
I'v figured out that problem one was my mistake: I simply missed the volume slider for the 'phone' part when I adjusted the volume for the overall PDA. So problem 1 is 'fixed' now, sorry
Now for problem 2:
> 2) It always plays through the loudspeaker, rather than through the headphones when I have them attached
I've found out that the ringtone actually does play through the headphones when they're attached (the loudspeaker was too loud before for me to hear the ringtone through the headphones), but it also plays through the loudspeaker as well.
ie. with headphone attached, on an incoming call, the ring comes through both my headphone and the PDA's loudspeaker.
So, is there a way to have the ringtone play only through the headphones (and not through the loudspeaker) if the headphones are attached? And only have the ringtone play through the loudspeaker if no headphones are attached?
thanks again

Problem with Atom's Life speakerphones

I am having a problem with my atom's life speakerphones,
when I play a ringtone through phone application (Setting->Personal->Phone)
it's really loud (EQ on and SRS WOW HD on).
But, when phone rings, ringtone sounds a lot quiter and I don't know why...
Does anyone know, or has a solution to my problem?
Thanks a lot,
Manos
Any answers?
maybe you have set increasing ringtone volume in phone settings...

Nope, my settings for ringtone is ''ring and vibrate''.
Thanks anyway
I have the same problem as well, hence I guess it is standard volume for incoming ringtone, I am playing mp3 file, how about you?
Try to quiet her amd she screams
One more funny thing about ATOM EXEC LIFE speakers
While EQ on and SRS WOW HD on you will hear somewhat loud (not really) volume, but try to block any one speaker (left or right) and see how she starts screaming (very loud volume)
Isnt this a funny thing?

Hey, I agree with what you've said above. I have the same issue. Please note that I have no direct solution for you, but the work around is this:
Use a different set of headphones. I have three sets I use.
1) pair of ear buds that came with the legend - these are fine when I turn the volume down low
2) Phillips SHS3201 - these are basic ""over the ear" hook style ear buds. volume is fine if I turn it down between first second "notches".
3) Monster Audio Turbine ear buds - foam sealing passive noise canceling. These are too loud even at the lowest setting. I think they have powerful drivers that simply boost the sound and foam fittings that drive the sound into my ear canal. Though they sound great, I can't really use them because they are too loud on the phone.
Are you using a high quality or "foam sealing" headphone?
That being said, I'm interested if anyone else knows how to adjust this!
Thanks.
Thk you for your reply I've not found a real solution but you're right i think i'm gonna buy earphones with external volume adjustement because even with the original legend ones, it's too loud
There is another way to fix it but i don't like it.. You can change de volume of your mp3's by using mp3 gain (freeware). The volume is better but if you want to connect the legend to a loudspeaker, you realise that the sound has unfortunately a very limited volume...
I am interested in this as well. I have tried the Music Player with EQ platinum (by changing left and right channel to output lower volume) but it kills the CPU. If you view photos while listening to music, you might not hear any music anymore.
Same here. It gets very annoying when the phone rings while I'm listening to things on my earphone - it hurts my ear everytime. (I have ringer set to max volume, which seems to make the ring tone play at max volume through earphone as well. I can barely stand min volume as it is.)
I've already rooted my phone - I guess changing the audiopara files should do the trick. Can anyone tell me how to understand those files?
Sent from my HTC Legend using XDA App
I am using j-jays intra earphones and the Legend really disappoint me about the sound quality (volume setting).
So I tried to set EQ as down as possible... what there is no EQ on Android's music player? f****!
Finally I have found and used Astro Player beta on the market, wich is not very good-looking but has a complet EQ.
And an other problem about Legend sound quality appears: the sound in noisy at low volume!!!
Ok let's hope a flash will correct the problem. For the moment I am using my Sansa clip+ to hear the music in my bed and my legend with RockPlayer to watch movies in my bed
Volume issue Android
I've been having an issue with the volume being too loud when streaming music via pandora or last.fm
To check to make sure we are all having the same problem, follow these steps and report back.
1. Play media (music) w/ headphones
2. Turn off silent mode
3. Go to Settings/Volume
4. Edit the volume of the ringer (it will play a test sound)
5. Accept changes...
Now, did the volume go down on the media so it's nice and quite? If so, how long does it last? I know this works for me for the rest of my current song, but as soon as another one starts it's back up to crazy loud volume (even when the media volume is set to smallest amount).
I have also downloaded a 3rd party volume control app, but the same thing happens. Please give this a shot and let us know what happened!

External speaker increase low volume

Anyway to make the external speaker volume louder through a hack or app? Its way to low making it it useless for car navigation but more importantly I can't hear it ringing when I have it in my pocket.
After we manage to run custom roms from NAND, you can use DSPManager, but in the meantime, you can hack your AudioPara.CSV is you know how to.

they could probably increase it with a firmware update not 100% sure
as for ring volume as a work around just open an audio editing program like audacity and increase the volume of an mp3 that you plan to use as a ringtone then copy it to the device and use that it should be louder cause you have increased the volume of the mp3
its nto a fix for everything but its a work around for the ringer at least

AudioPara.CSV is a windows mobile file. This in an android device. Your instructions are useless.
I am also looking to increase audio volume. Mine is quite low, I cant even use speakerphone properly. You cant hear the person.
I also own the samsung galaxy and the desire hd is about half the volume, if that.
I can hardly hear anyone on this phone and the music/podcast playback is ridiculously low. Did anyone in HTC actually use this phone before manufacturing it?
Their donkeys did...
I dont find it that low.
Was about to set a alarm signal and it was too low to hear.
But instead I choose to use a file from the music folder and
it was much louder.
Seamed strange, but the volume is OK!

[Q] Ringtone volume lower when music is playing

Hi to all,
I have noticed a big drop in ringtone volume if music is playing when a call comes in.
It is so low that I can often not hear the ringtone at all. This is with it set at maximum before the turning on the music. Attempting to Change the media volume makes no difference in the ringtone volume.
If I switch off the music then test by calling the phone, the ringtone comes through the headset at full volume. Turn on the music and try again, I can barely hear it.
I can only tell by the muting of the music as the call comes in. Notification volume seems unaffected.
Have any of you noticed this issue as well? Any fixes?
Thanks in advance.
