Turn off USB debugging
go to setting>development menu> turn off USB debugging
If it's turn off but you cant connect try download driver from Asus page and update drivers

My Samsung Vibrant won't mount to a Mac or PC. Yes USB debugging is turned on and mass storage is selected under USB settings. The samsung drivers are installed on the PC. I was on Bionix 1.9 but I just restored back to Bionix 1.7 to see if that would help but it didn't. When connected to a PC I get an error message saying the USB device is not recognized, please unplug and try again.
Does anyone have a solution?
Thanks
turn off usb debugging try that it always works for me then change usb settings to ask on connect hope that helps
Thanks but it didn't work.
ok on your computer when it say that i cannot connect to usb on the bottom left click that message and trouble shoot the usb ports
Yeah it says to unplug the device and then replug it in. If the error persists have the device replaced.
If I perform a factory data reset, will I lose my Nandroid backups via ROMmanager?
Swap the USB cable.
I'm trying to connect my phone to my PC but I also get this USB Debugging Connected, I mount it but as i go to my computer nothing don't show up so I can continue the next step to get froyo 2.2 some one help me what should I do?
What worked for me (others report different) was to first connect to the PC with USB Debugging ON. The PC installed some device drivers. Unplug and turn USB debugging OFF, Ask on Connection ON, then reconnect. Then the three options, Kies, .... showed up and worked.
Hope that helped.
I'm gonna try
It's not installing nothing
Dude ****ing thank you man you are the best I am gonna remember this for now on incase thank you
Hey guys, just got my Tab a few days ago, its unlocked and its working great. I want to root, but my PC wont recognize it (running win7) and it says the USB device has malfunctioned... wth? I searched through some threads about the drivers, and ive tried 4 different ones, restarted my PC, AND my Tab, with no luck. No, USB Debugging is not enabled. (not a noob, just, simply not working)
Any ideas? I would appreciate it
I just got my tab 3hours ago. I got it to work.
Here are what i've done
1.go to control panel and see if samsung usb driver is there. If it is, uninstall it.
2.disable usb debugging on the tab
3.connect the tab to the computer.
Thats wht worked for me. Hope it helps. And yes, samsung has really got to work on the usb thing.
Unzip and run the attached file. Delete any old unused USB device and delete any Android, Samsung or other related device then reinstall Samsung drivers.

This helped me: my computer tower has front and back USB ports. Back USB ports are directly embedded in the motherboard, front USB ports are a wire run from the case plugged into the motherboard, but the front USB ports are on a different chip.
When I first tried using the ADB debugger with Android, ADB would not even find my device if I plugged the device into the front USB ports. If I move the cord to the back USB ports, everything works properly. Maybe this is your issue?
Thanks guys, I believe I got it working.
The probem:
USB Mass Storage not working in Recovery. I tried everything, reflashing different recovery but its not working, it doesn't give an error message. When card is not inside however it does complain. SdCard is fine because I can flash zips that are on it. Tested on both windows and ubuntu. tried another card as well
USB Mount doesn't work in CM7.2 or any rom or nand restore i've done recently. I had Insomnia at some point, then inferno, then cm 7.1, none of these restores work. Again here no errors, I do not even see the sign for usb detection. usb debugging is enabled/disabled no difference. phone however still charges though.
I'm on a trip right now, but I've not had the chance yet to get another usb cable but the two I have dont work.

He has tried two cables, so I would tend to lean toward the port.

i am in the same boat. looks like my charging port is bad. anyway to replace the charging port? i am not good with soldering
it's not ur usb port
it's htc.. htc devices doesn't support usb host feature.
If you have a rom and kernal that do support usb host then try powering the usb as the htc devices do not provide power out.. use usb Y cable

What? He isn't trying to host the connection. He is trying to use his phone as a USB mass storage device.
Where did you get USB host from in his questions?

Hi all,
I am having the same problem, except perhaps with a different cause. My user account on Windows 7 became corrupt and I can no longer log in, so I had to create a new one.
On the new account, my myTouch 4G is not recognized for mass storage/disk drive mode via USB. The USB cable does work, the port is okay, and I've used both with other devices. The myTouch shows as charging when connected to the computer. I have uninstalled and reinstalled all of the myTouch drivers, restarted computer and phone, to no avail.
When it is connected in USB, it shows as generic "Drive F" and is inaccessible. When I check properties it says mytouch4g. When I check "Devices" it is recognized as portable storage. I have tried with USB debugging on and off, and have set "connected to computer" mode to disk drive.
Any thoughts? I thought possibly loading the generic ADB driver again might help, but I cannot get to the stage where I can force it to load that driver instead of the HTC one.
(Had to repost since no one replies on the sprint section of the G2)
So my friend bought an LS 980 which still has 4.4.2 Kitkat on it. but it doesnt show any networks.
Im trying to unlock this phone but somehow USB Debugging isnt showing up on the notification tab.
and yes i did a lot of research, (installed drivers both adb and LG drivers already and checked usb debugging in developer options)
I've been struggling to get it working since yesterday.
Hope someone can help me out so i can return this phone to him asap thanks
(been through a lot of pages already about usb debugging but none help though.....)

Thanks for the reply, but usb debugging wouldn't come out in the notification tab somehow. it grays out after i checked it in developer options and plugged in using the USB, i used Sony and samsung cables btw, is LG usb cables really required?. and i tried all modes already when i plug it in, PTP, MTP and the other ones.
Is it the cables the problem? been stuck for many days already.
