Help with Gapps!!!! - Kindle Fire General

Help!
All of a sudden my gmail account screwed up and couldn't work, not on my computer or my kindle fire.
After a few tries it worked on my comp, but even after rebooting on my kindle fire, as a result of the error, Gapps can't work.
So, I'm asking now. Is there a way to remove the ONLY google account on a device without factory resetting?

ima noob. suceeded. now a question :)

i recieved a kindle fire for xmas yesterday (awesome wife ) and i have successfully rooted the device, installed cm7, and am loving it so far. im in a bit of an information overload though and thought maybe someone could help me out with something... everytime i restart the device it shows the yellow triangle before going into the cm7 boot animation. is there any way to bypass this and go straight to the boot animation??? which brings me to my second question. is there any way to replace the cm7 boot with the original kindle fire boot animation???? im sorry if these have been answered but i couldnt find then. thanks
The triangle is the recovery. Why are you rebooting your device often?
You should not need to reboot your device regular basis.
im not just didnt like it being there when i do
Sent from my Kindle Fire using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
Without it being there then you would have no option to enter recovery mode, I suggest closing your eyes and counting to three when you reboot

How can it not work if it freezes or if we remove the file?
Sent from my Kindle Fire using xda premium
You can remove the file, change the file, Freeze it, remove it's permissions whatever you want, but it will NOT stop an OTA update because the process that does the update creates a new one when it it needs it.
Proven Fail!

Because that app is only a tool used by the app in charge of the whole upgrade process and it appears to get reinstalled from scratch during that process if it has been moved or removed
Thank you guy's for the info.

What if we are not registered to Amazons account? Becouse wen I wanted to get the ota I registered ans clicked on sync to get the ota. Maybe the registration has something to do with it?

just root ur phone and install cm7 or try droid wall that may block it but we dont have a update to check
I bought mine when it was on 6.0.0 and installed Root Uninstaller, backed up otasilentupdate.apk and then deleted it. After that no more updates. I guess experience varies, just sharing my ways. (btw i didn't register cuz im not in the US).
because u didnt register is why u didnt get the update
We have found out that when ur registered and u try to freeze the the silent update or rename it, it still updates no matter what. I hear droid wall stops the update but not sure

Probably. I had de-registered my Kindle prior to the 6.2.1 update and I did not get the update, even though it was out for a few days and my wifi was on / tablet was being extensively used during those days.
I did get the 6.2 update before I de-registered. So almost certainly, the de-registration helped.
here is my experience:
kf was and is registered
removed /system/etc/security/otacerts.zip -> update downloaded but did not install -> was automatically deleted from cache folder after failed attempt to install
installed "nfx-update-kindle-6.2.1" -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1407852
6.2.1 is much more responsive than older version
b.t.w. root method for 6.2.1 is available:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1399889
It seems to me that when an individual registers amazon uses that mac address for sending the update.... I could be wrong so please do not think that I am saying this is entirely true but, if all of these methods are confirmed as not working such as freexzing, removing apps, etc... then there has to be somesort of way that amazon is still able to update to your fire...

Unroot, TWRP, SU GONE WRONG!

I was trying to get my Kindle Fire HD 7, getting it ready to sell (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2409435). But i've done something wrong, i have transfered the file to my Kindle, wipe everything expect sd. Afterwards i flashed the update 7.4.6 bin, and wipe the sd again. And rebooted my Kindle fire. And now its stuck on the Kindle Fire logo. HELP! I need fix this within the next 24 hours! I DO NOT have a fastboot cable either.
Does the logo ever turn blue? If it doesn't you will need a fastboot cable to fix.

No! it's just stuck on the orange logo. I dont have a fastboot cable, i'm selling this within the next 24 hours to someone. I need to get this fix ASAP!
Well unless you can make a fastboot cable with a soldering iron then your going to have some problems. I can try to see if you can get it into fastboot the way we do 8.9" models, but if you plug the device in and your PC doesn't detect a Tate device in the device manager then you will have to goto the fastboot cable method. If it does then try to quickly install the drivers in my signature. From there you would just need a command prompt and the fastboot command.

Proceeding at all with 7.4.7 is at own risk. I have a used tablet coming in the mail and will be here Tuesday. I will restore and test out rooting with binary and try some KFFA things with 7.4.7. I won't know anything until late Tuesday evening. Maybe someone will come along with some information before then. If not, I will let you know then.
Edit - Because this is possibly new hardwareI have edit my response to say just don't try it until you here from those who made the scripts give the all clear. I thought this was just an update to the 2012 Kindle Fire HD and the new Kindle Fire HD. This may not be the case. Until it gets sorted out, probably best to wait for the devs to sound off.

Is there anybody who was successful t root this device with version 7.4.7
If you have a factory cable you can downgrade and then root it? I'm running a custom ROM on my kfhd so can't help much for 7.4.7 sorry

How did you tried? Did it root? Did you have a factory cable?
Try this...
Get Bin4ry's root and extract the 'fakebackup.ab'. Get ADB set up and working and enter the following:
Code:
adb restore fakebackup.ab
If the restore screen pops up, where it says "restore my data" at the bottom (don't press on it though), then there's a good chance they didn't patch the exploit. If the ADB restore hasn't been disabled, I would say go ahead and try to root it. It probably wouldn't hurt to make sure the factory cable still works though.
Confirmed as working

I Have successfully rooted my kindle fire HD 7 - 7.4.7
With the Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v31
1) WHILE KINDLE IS UNPLUGGED Uninstall all kindle Drivers:
Download The adb drivers from the post
2) Go to settings on Kindle Enable ADB
3) Plug kindle in,
When the device is recognized you can now root.
4) Open the tool, Select option one, and read the instructions on the tool.
Enjoy!

You can try again. One will install some launchers with it too. Be careful though. Using this tool on the 4th generations is not widely tested. Not that I know of anyway.

Hi, My kindle is not the newest one, so I assume it's normal Kindle fire HD 7'', I tried to run it another few times with different setups on my pc etc. same error every time. It's weird that it says it's rooted but I can't get most of the thing working, perhaps I should try to put in recovery, alt boot loader and install some different rom. But because I'm not confident about my root I rather use amazon-handicapped device than get a brick.
I would not proceed until your root is working properly. Sometimes the rooting process has to be repeated. You will want to get a fastboot cord just in case if you try to install ROM.
Just the other day I had to run root and restore 4 times before it took. Ended up I got the one that installs Apex launchers as well and just installed that afterward.

You need a factory fastboot cord first. Use this tutorial to get TWRP/2nd bootloader installed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2128848

Hi, to install 2nd bootloader and twrp and then cm11 factory cable isn't needed. Kffa want downloading files to downgrade to7.2.3 so I got it manually inhaled then twrp and cm11 no problem. But then cm11 started crashing so I rebooted kindle butit dinner start, in twrp it reported that storage can't be mounted, I have pushed Rom using adb but it wouldn't install due to storage issue soI used that tool to recover kindle but after successful installation I got into a reboot loop. Factory reset cable is already ordered. After cm 11 issues I don't know if I'll try it again.

Help, Kindle Fire root gone wrong!!! [URGENT]

Hi,
I tried rooting my Kindle Fire because I hate the built in things and I wanted the play store.
Anyway, I tried rooting it with Quem and during it the screen went off and restarted the kindle. Now when I go on the kindle it's unbearingly laggy and the 'Kindle Fire' bootup logo keeps flashing. Most of the time when I try to go to the settings after about 5 minutes of lag the screen just goes black.
Anyway I can just reset it so it's like brand new?

Oh, the joys of rooting the Fire. Don't worry about the severe lag. Just keep running the root tool again. If you can, try to use Bin4ry's root method here. It may fare better for you.
I bet he needs to delete the local.prop on the data partition, think that's the name of the file. That would get rid of the lag atleast.

Everytime I rooted my Kindle I had to put up with this issue. I wish I had thought of that. It was such a pain in the but to work with. I could achieve root by running the exploit again and again, but still. It can be done, but it takes patience.
KFFirst Aide there is a tool to fix this, i had this problem earlier today.
