IP Phone app for Polaris? (bepe rom)

Hello,
I have bepe rom 0.63 full for my Polaris, and in the CommManager parameters, I have an option to parameter and ativate IP Phone.
Bepe said me that he took this option in case if someone want to installl a IP Phone module.
Where can I download an IP Phone app for Polaris?

Install, reboot, run VOIP Settings to setup your VOIP provider, reboot again and off you go. Works like a charm for me with VOIP Buster Pro A tip: Use VOIP with a handsfree (bluetooth or wired). Without handsfree the other side will get a nasty echo.

Do you mean SIP phone? You can use WM6 embedded or see here: http://www.fring.com/dowload/

I've tried using that today but it just stays on the "Loading Fring" screen for hours!

I dont know how to make work tour program in CommManager, to phone directly via SIP account via Wifi

Is anyone try to activate and setup the IP PHONE ?

I'm a lucky owner of a blackstone since 2 days.
I would like to use voip, i installed wm6voip and setupvoip.
I configured correctly all but i still have "no service".
I have a dell x50v with wm6 too and voip work fine on it.
My HD was sell from french sfr.
Can someone help me ?

Not for me! gives the same problem as the wm voipcab (sound from the rear speaker, and low volume)

I have a different approach. I load WMWIFIRouter on HD, which creates a Wlan and connect a Netgear Skype Handy to this Wlan.
I knoe it a different way but... just a suggestion.

Wow wow Wow!
i dont get realy what youre meaning. But i think you mean that you are using WMWIFIRouter on your mobile phone to share your 3G internet with your laptop via wifi... and youre using then a sip client at your laptop ...
Great sollution! But i dont want to need my laptop for making a phonecall to my asterisk server

Only if you use skype or msn.
I am almost sure that Fring servers will not be a proxy if you use SIP.

But I can't find a way of putting WM6VOIP.cab working with the normal Earpiece.... Just like Fring do....

Ok so... I've been using VoIP for a while on the HD and those are my findings:
1) WM6VOIP.CAB messes things up with GPS, eg. you will no longer be able to use GPS nor uninstal voip.cab.. so if you want your HD fully functional (as before the installation of the cab).. you have to Hard Reset!
2) My operator (Wind - Italy) blocks VOIP on their HSDPA/3G line therefore forcing you to use WiFi BUT if you use WIFI normally when the phone turns the display off to save power it also disables WiFi.. ending the call. You have to use then Advanced Config to disable this behaviour (always on mode for WiFi)..
I made also different tests and tried different programs and at the end of the day I found the voip experience with WinMo to be very unpleasant at the point where you gladly pay a bit more to make phone calls the traditional way.. (do not forget that you have a consistent lag while speaking in VOIP)..

Hi Eraser85,
There is a solution for the GPS problem with wm6voip.cab there is no hard reset required..
for your 3g problem:
Have you tried to uncheck the checkbox "This connections connects with a proxy server" in your connection settings..
That will help a lot when youre trying to call via 3g
the lag issue is a very little problem. When a call is for free i dont have any problems with that

VOIP-SIP

I have my my voip account working on fring everything is great including the call quality 3g/wifi. I like some of the features of the other voip/sip clients and have downloaded everyone from the market (yes everyone) the problem is call quality is really bad enem over wifi and 3g forget about it. Anyone have same issue or setting that work great on anyother app.

sorry, i can't answer your question, but have you been able to get the 3cx app to work? It is supposedly a good one but has been in/out of the market. what voip provider do you use? btw

[Q] Any TMOUS users have VOIP working on Android?

I have tried to search for the answer to this and have checked the wiki, but I could not find it; apologies if it has already been asked.
Are there any TMOUS HD2 users that have been able to get VOIP (SIP) working on any build of Android? I have seen some posts from non-US users that seem to indicate that it is possible, but I haven't seen any US users.
If you have it working, could you please share:
1) your VOIP/SIP provider (ex. Callcentric)
2) your Android SIP client (ex. Sipdroid) and any special setup instructions or settings you used
3) WinMo & Android ROMS you are using
4) anything you had to do outside Android to get it working (maybe you had to do something in WinMo to get it to work?)
5) whether it works on both WiFi and 3G/HSPA
6) what radio you are using
I have been able to get VOIP working both in WinMo (using PortGo) and on my PC (using X-Lite) using the same SIP settings I have tried in Android, so I know this is somehow related to Android on the HD2.

I have been to make voip calls without any problems using Fring.
I use sipsorcery->sipgate->google voice to make and receive voip calls. I didnt need to do anything extra to get this working in Fring. Just entered the username, password and proxy details and it worked right off the bat.

VOIP or anything that calls over wifi

guys, all im looking for something that lets me call over wifi where i don have any voice or data services available.... i don get any service from sprint when i m in school. but i have wifi available everywhere.... i tried google voice with sipdroid but with no luck. have tried searching web, found a few links but cant get it to work.... i m on sprint evo... if anybody can help get the link or show me some steps on what to do or how to do, that would b gr8... thanks all

However, your school is probably blocking all SIP data, so no matter what you do, you're boned unless you can get a VPN working that's very fast, or want to go a bit more complicated and get an Airave and a WiFi bridge.

Google voice? It seems there is a capability but I've never tried it.

im positive they don block it... tried that sipgate with google voice at home disabling all connections except wifi but cant get it to work.... do u know any link or guide anywhere ??
also doesnt fring need the other party to have fring on their fone ??

Download the free netTALK app, it gives you free VOIP calling to any US number

I have and use skype for that reason. I have not experienced the echo or delay that most voip providers have when using skype.

1) Sign up for Sipagate ONE
2) Sign up for Google Voice
3) Add your Sipgate ONE number as a phone in Google Voice
4) Add your Sipgate SIP credentials as a SIP profile in Fring (or just in the Gingerbread settings)
5) Have Fring connect to Sipgate.
6) Have GV call your Sipgate number to confirm it.
7) Receive call. Confirm number.
8) Enjoy.
Using Fring for SIP does not require you to have Fring on the other party's device. SIP is an open standard, and Sipgate acts as gateway between POTS and SIP.
If you can't get it to work at home, it may be your home ISP, or your router, is blocking SIP.

I've played with sipgate VOIP and sipdroid... It's tolerable over wifi, but completely sucks over 3g.
Over wifi, it sounded alot like talking through a tin can (imagine a 16kb mp3). I've used voip with a provider called callwithus (http://www.callwithus.com/), before on the pc over hotel wifi/dsl, and recall it sounded much better, almost as good as a landline call, definitely similar to a cell phone. I suspect sipgate is giving very low priority and bw to the freebie accounts, thus you're getting what you pay for.
Callwithus had relatively cheap rates, something along the lines of 1.9¢/min for domestic calls, so a $10 bucket would get you over 500 minutes. Just checked, us rates are .99¢ a min, so $10 gets you over 1010 minutes. Just another option to consider.

This is lack of processing. That same 3g connection tethered will work fine. I would think the EVO has the guts to do voip fine over 3g.
Can the EVO not do Voip over 3g at a good quality? Can people post feedback?

DrM - have you tested the gb setup of sipgate + gv?? opinions? suggestions?

I'm not entirely sure that it will work if tethered. I think it's more a latency issue than anything else give the number of networks the data has to traverse.
From speedtest.net speed tests here, I get ping times of 100-300 ms. That can't be too good for voip usage.

I use voip tethered. if the network is bogged, it has issues, but it works otherwise.

i've had this setup before, using the sipdroid app on my hero. it works good i also went with an in-house PBX box to help complicate things. over wifi it works great but on data it really depends on how good your service is.

This works quite well actually... if only there was an all free SIP I would make most of my calls this way

did you get dialing out to work without the gvcallback app? or does fring have a callback feature?

Here in the chicago market, I suspect their 3g network is way over loaded, especially during the day. What market are you in?
