Man I though people searching for ringtones was a thing of the past.. but anyway a couple of simple options is get the zedge app from the market, or a ringtone maker app from the market, I have saw a few free ones. With zedge your options are endless, and with ringtone maker you can take a clip of any song you want...

I make my own ringtones all the time. You just need to find something you like, that's noisy, that you would want to hear whenever someone called you.
I vacillate between something from a movie, something from a video game, and M-Flo's songs. Since a handful of his songs at the beginning are just noise/voices that sound cool.
Ringtones free and paid
Go to Myxer.com they also have an app in the market and u don't need to create an account, u can find ringtones, wallpapers, themes, apps, etc! Enjoy!
If I helped give THANKS!
Zedge app in play store, you can find basically anything in there, lots of great ringtones plus a search.

Music search is an app that searches for music and download them straight to your sdcard. It has a retty wide variety of music on their network.
I was thinking how great it would be to have a ringtone of the starting of the broadcast. Is anyone already using it or feel the same way I do? If you are using it could you upload it or tell me where you got it from.

OK, I've searched all over the forums and the market and google, but I have yet to find a player that does what I'm looking for... All I want is a "dumb" player. My requirements are this: play by folder, system library with selectable folder scans so it doesn't play ringtones and notifications as music and simple playlist management i.e. Add folder... essentially like winamp for windows. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I've tried doubletwist mixzing and winamp and all have some of what I want but none have all. Help please...

Just try ttpod, wow thats amazing music player and its free...

Only problem with ttpod is when selecting a music folder the songs play out of order. My mp3 collection is organized artist> album> (track number) - (song name).mp3 it keeps wanting to play based on (song name) alphabetically. Anyone know any way to fix this? Power amp is great but as limited as my income is, I can't justify paying 4.99 for an app.

There is a large variety of mp3 ringtone maker apps on the market for free. Also there probably already some kind of ringtone for pretty much any song out there, on the Zedge app - or at least most of them..

make a...
just make a ringtone folder...'Ringtone' copy your mp3s in there
If you don't already have a folder at '/media/audio/ringtones' create one and put them there. Same for 'notifications'. Note that you do not NEED to put them there, You can put 'ringtones' and 'notifications' folders at the root level of the sdcard and the media scanner will still find them, but that is the designated location.

I am looking for a collection of modern ringtones that are not fart noises, slap stick sounds, sayings or over played pop songs. I already know about Zedge and while it has some good content, it doesn't have quite what I'm looking for. If anyone knows of any other source of high quality ringtones, please let me know.
Try downloading different phone sound packs and inserting them into ringtones
where would one find phone soundpacks?
You can download, edit, than add and use whatever audio file you want.
