OK, I've searched all over the forums and the market and google, but I have yet to find a player that does what I'm looking for... All I want is a "dumb" player. My requirements are this: play by folder, system library with selectable folder scans so it doesn't play ringtones and notifications as music and simple playlist management i.e. Add folder... essentially like winamp for windows. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I've tried doubletwist mixzing and winamp and all have some of what I want but none have all. Help please...

Just try ttpod, wow thats amazing music player and its free...

Only problem with ttpod is when selecting a music folder the songs play out of order. My mp3 collection is organized artist> album> (track number) - (song name).mp3 it keeps wanting to play based on (song name) alphabetically. Anyone know any way to fix this? Power amp is great but as limited as my income is, I can't justify paying 4.99 for an app.

I am looking for a way to queue up music to play after whatever is playing now.
Either by finding a good Music Playing App that will allow me to queue up tracks OR by customizing the stock music App. I'd rather customize the stock App as I like the way it works.
Any ideas? I have searched the forum extensively for this - have I missed it somewhere?
doubletwist
Doubletwist player allows to queue up music.
Could always try winamp for android http://www.winamp.com/android
Thanks I will check those out!
Anyone seen any way of customizing the stock music player to do this?
Poweramp also allows you to Queue a song for playback.
The stock music app does this

MixZing does that

PlayerPro also allows you to easily change the song order. It's kinda pricy (get the trial first), but you wouldn't regret using it. Tried many others, always came back to it. And IIRC, TTPod also has this. Haven't used it for quite some time, so I might be wrong. Just experiment.
Hello I'm having a problem with my Miui music player when I go see my songs it shows them by file name or organized them as it. Instead of showing just there track title

better use MIUI Music player.... It has shake to change feature too. And about changing your Google Music (The one with Creed), you will require Root Explorer. Just go into System/App and remove (or take out) Music.apk and replace with any other music player you want. Reboot.
My preference, use MIUI Music player. Search google, it is easily available. And it even shows "Music" as it's name tag (Unlike most music players like NRG which show "NRG Music Player").
Your choice

I'm not sure about some details. maybe I have to ask some question.
1. are you rename your apk with same name as the original music player?
2. can you find music.odex in /system/app ?
if the numer one is yes, rename it to anything you want. set the permission rw-r--r-- then reboot your phone.
if the number two is yes, delete it.
i did both.. Did not work dude!!!

Does anyone know of a good music manager for android? Im having two problems, the first problem is half of my music albums dont have album art, and the second problem is i have more than one icon for a single album. For example i have Trey Songs album with two different icons. one folder have half of the songs and the other folder have the other half
Try musiXmatch app from play store or the stock touchwiz player. I find these two good.
Other option is n7 player and power amp player.

If your music data itself is messed up, changing players wont necessarily fix your problems.
I highly recommend musicbrainz for cleaning up massive libraries. It fixes tags, renames files, and will structure your music on disk like itunes. From there you can push it back to your players for sheer pleasure.
Btw , this is a desktop app, not one from the android stores. And it's free.

that sounds like something i need
Sometimes it'll choke on tracks that should be common and easy to identify. Don't fret, just tell it to try again and it will generally fix itself. On really stubborn ones you may have to kickstart them by entering some of the missing data (artist, title) before it'll properly recognize them.
Good luck !

Hey folks,
I just got some music from a classmate and tried to play it on my device. It won't with every music player app I tried. (Apollo, Play Music, winamp and two or three more..)
I guess I have to convert them to mp3, but I wonder what program is the most convenient. I would love to have my Tags (Title, Album etc.) taken over.
What program provides such functionality?
Thanks in advance!
