EMMC to External SD again [ICS_ROM] - Galaxy S I9000 General

I know there are a few howto's about this problem, but i haven't seen one in the Galaxy S forum.
So here goes:
This is just a link to a Samsung galaxy s II thread, explaining how to get your external sd card back under sdcard/external_sdcard.
Because when using a ICS rom your external sdcard is set under EMMC. I find this very disturbing.
Of course does this solution also works on our I9000 !!
Here is the link. Please read all the way to the end, there is some important info there.

Thanks for sharing .

thanks mate, let me bookmark this page.
i also feel that the emmc folder is not convenient compared with the previous external sd card folder. let me have a try.

also the media scan is not working well with emmc.
this my big problem with the ics

zhx for you contribution thought i already know it ....

Is this the cause of the "duplicate files in the media db if media files are on the external SD card" bug?

How to enable Internal SD?
Hi, I came from CM7.2, this rom is very usable for everyday use, but i would use internal SD instead of external (slow). In CM there was an option in General, but here I don't find it.
TIA!
p.s. I've found attached file in another similar discussion, but i would know if that file simulate the option in CM7.2 or is another way... I think too much manual!

emmc vs. sdcard confusion - ARGH!

<rant>
I just accidentally formatted my 32GB microSD card and lost a cr4pload of important data because CWM and CyanogenMod have opposing views on which mountpoint to use for internal/external storage. I knew this going in, and I took a chance when formatting so I'm not blaming anyone here but myself. However, GODDAMMIT I wish someone would pick a standard and STICK with it. I see that in CM10 now, we have sdcard0/sdcard1. I wonder if CWM will follow suit...?
</rant>
Get your sd card out of the phone and plug it into your pc.. There's loads of tools to recover your data intact
Just Google some... As for that issue well I have 3 android devices the only 1 with this issue its note.. What I do its to create 2 empty folders called AAAAEXTSD and ZZZZEXTSD so when ever I gotta do stuff from where ever or to where ever I know Wich memory I'm on..
Just a workaround

Thanks dude. I used Recuva and managed to get SOME data back, but half of it was incomplete (probably Recuva's fault).
The problem with your workaround is that you have no way of seeing what is on the sdcard from CWM.
Storage in general seems to be ... strange. Even in CM9 itself unter Settings -> Storage, there is only one format option. It says "Format SD Card", but it appears under the "Internal Storage" header. God knows which memory that actually formats; I'm not about to try it.

i always take out my external sd before i do any formatting in cwm..pain in the arse but its foolproof
Best n safe way to format sd card is to connect to pc as mass storage and format
@op
Search undelete application from market, if you cant get, search 'root call blocker' and find appl developed by same developer.
If this can help to recover data.

G2 does not mount OTG SD Card reader

Hello,
I just got my LG G2 today. Already flashed the new ParanoidAndroid cause I wanted Android KitKat.
I wanted to connect my MSD-Card Reader to my phone, but it somehow simply does not appear in the file manager.
I tried different apps to mount the SD Card, like "Stick Mount" or "USB OTG Helper" but none of them seem to be able to mount my sd card
Most of all, I want to copy all my music and the games (especially big games like GTA) to the card cause 10gb simply aren't enough.
I'm using a SanDisk Ultra 64GB microSD Card.
Does anybody know what to do? Maybe I simply didn't find the right app!
Oh, and I could not find any solutions in the internet. Forgive me if there are any avaiable that I could not find.
Thanks in advance and merry christmas!
Does PA kernel support USB OTG?
(too busy to check by myself)

There's a Q&A section for questions and even better yet, there's a thread in the specifically for questions about PA.

Thanks for your answers.
So, I now flashed CyanogenMod and noticed the smartphone realizes there is a sd card connected. There's a message which says something like "The SD Card is being prepared". However, I cannot reach the folder. Can anybody help me?
P.S. What does PA mean?

Thanks, now I finally can save my stuff on the SD card.
But I have another question, and I don't really want to create a new thread.
So, my LG G2 only has 10GB for apps and games, which ain't enough. I wanna copy my apps to the SD card, especially the gameloft games and GTA.
I tried using GL to SD, APP2SD and other stuff but it didn't work, either because I'm too stupid or it is incompatible.
Can anybody help me? Thank you very very much!

Install philz recovery and mount your phone to computer in it, maybe it should work. I had same issue just today after installing cyanogenmodx. Hopefully i had backup of previous rom and i could see all files in recovery.
