Anybody know why my Device storage memory is being used so much when I install everything on the internal storage card? The device should not be getting used right? But it says I have 6mb free and it keeps throwing low device memory errors.
go to opera program and delete the cache files
if you use internet explorer delete the cache files
there is some program like S2U2 ,S2P, S2V, SPB MOBILE install automaticlly to phone memory even if you choose internal storage
go to /program files and see what programs is there.
guys is there any tweak that turn off the low device memory notification
Thanks! Is there anyway to move those program files to the internal storage and still have them work? And is it possible to change Opera to store the history and cache to the internal storage instead of the device?
If you're using a theme, some of them uses up ~20Mb of storage.

you can move opera cache to internal storage by editing the .ini file in /windows/opera9
you can find info about this by searching the forum
pmClean will clear the cache etc for you
I use mem maid seems to clear cach and restore lots of other memory.
sktools can move dll's, applications and other thingies to internal storage. it also has some shadow services that clears memory, .. etc, as i recall
I just wiped my phone and see all of my apps there because I installed them before to my sdcard.
But when I go to the Market, they are no longer in "my downloads." So... how do I know if an update comes out for them?
Thanks.
Do you use aTrackDog?
No. I don't know what That is...
I reccomed reinstalling all your apps as you may have an issue with running them properly. If you paid for an app you can download it again and they will show up in your "my downloads" atrackdog is a 3rd party program that will check for up dated versions of your apps by using a p2p like protocal. It works for apps that you have that are not on the market like wireless tether and g-arcade.
But really reinstall all your apps. Use atrackdog. You can manage them from there.
Just wondering... Won't this happen every time I wipe then? The apps still show up in the "drawer" where all the apps usually are, just not in the marketplace. So... if this does happen everytime you wipe (the phone, ), then what's the whole point of apps2sd? Please clarify. Thank you.
The point is to free up the phones internal memory and keep it from lagging when the free memory gets below 20mb. Also a sdcard class 6 is slightly faster than the internal memory. Besides would you rather have 80 megs total to download programs or 500 megs?I wouldn't want to have to uninstall last.tm to play a game
I get that... but... if I wipe the phone, the apps will show up again once I put the new rom on it. However, there's no way to check if the apps have been updated by the developer since your downloads no longer show up in the market's "my downloads." So... Is there a way to fix that or a way around that..?
Currently there is no known workaround
Use atrackdog. Its available in the market. It won't auto notify you. Personally I run it every few days and it works great. If an update is available you can go directly to the programs market page and install the update.
Edit: you can always reinstall them
start all over i guess.. i do this all the time just to try a rom
format Fat32/Ext2 both it will format installed apps.. ur paid apps will be there regardless
wipe
flash the build
set-up app2sd before installing ur apps
then start serching all the apps u had
yea its alot of work but atleast i see my apps updates
I did this (but didn't start downloading apps yet) and for internal storage in settings>sdcard/storage, it shows internal storage free space is 840mb. Is that normal? Its just reading my ext3 partition as the internal storage, right? I did NOT set up apps2sd files or anything yet, but when I installed one app I looked at the free space again and it went down under "internal storage" instead of sd card. That would be normal EXCEPT for the fact that the internal storage free space is showing 800 something megabytes...
PLEASE HELP- Thanks!

Its a bug in the build. As long as you have a ext2-3 partition. Any Rom that is a2sd enabled should see it automagically.
You did nothing wrong. Install any app and look in your system/sd/app folder and see if it is there. If its a paid app? Check system/sd/app-private
Thanks man- I really appreciate it. So far out of a many responses over many threads, you're the only one to give a response.

I recommend using the app -BackUp For Root Users- before wiping and flashing a new rom. On the second page is an option to backup and restore your Market Database file. I assume you can probably back up the same file using Terminal but I'm no expert on it, nor do I know the location of the Android Manifest file. If you save this file and restore it after a fresh install it will restore your My Downloads section in the Market and thus show you when updates are available.
As for currently, you'll have to reinstall your apps from the market first.
Hi, guys..
Everybody know that Sony Ericsson Eclair System is very very drained internal memory. In my phones (IND phone) the internal memory is 8 MB left. So slowly... free ram is 2x MB.
* x is a unidentified number
So i think i need to delete some apps at system that made my RAM is low. Example the Backup and Restore apps that is a inactive app (detected at TAsk manager) and use 1x MB ram. I hate this. What i dont know is com.blablabla.simpaytype.dfk (i don't know well what it's name), so i decided to not end that program.
can someone listed me some of apps that not useful at SE 2.1 ROM? Or a program to identify what apk is not useful?? thank you guys
Root your phone, create on your sd card second ext2 partition and instal from market link2sd and move all your programs to sd card...
the second partition on sdcard must be named "sd-ext", and the roms based on 2.3 mount this partition automatically.
List of "safe to remove" system app
Ive found a way to install apps on my desire even if it says that im out of memory. When it says that its almost out of memory it means that it isnt so much space left in the data partition of the phone.
However i have seen that i have like 130 mb space left in my system partition.
The system partition is much like the data partition. The difference is that this partition holds the system apps like contact app, camera app, gallery app, settings app and so on...
Data partition unlike the system partition holds apps that are install/uninstallable. Still if you have root and have root explorer installed then you can see if you have much storage left in your system partition. I would recommend that you have about 100 mb storage left cuz then you can surely use this method.
NOTE:
This isnt garanteed 100% that it will work and for that i recommend that you do a backup of your current rom. And leave a bit space in system partition incase it needs some space. I leave 20 mb space and its working out for me fine.
So what we are gonna do is that we are gonna move our apps or games to the system partition as if it would be a system app and we are gonna use that extra space.
Requirements: Root, S-OFF, recovery, root explorer installed, the apk files of the apps you wabt to move (use a apk manager to make a apk file from your installed apps)
1. Backup your current rom using a recovery.
2. Open root explorer and grant the root access permission.
3. Go to sdcard/ and copy the apk files of the apps that you want to move
4. Go back out of the sdcard and go to system/app/
5. Here make sure you tap on the button in the upper right corner that says Mount R/W
6. Paste the apk files here and rename them to some simple name for example rename com.imangi.templerun.apk to TempleRun.apk
7. After youve done everything in the right order just reboot and your apps should appear in your apps list and you wont be able to move them to sdcard or uninstall them. Incase you have the apps that want to move already installed then uninstall them before the restart.
Only way to remove these apps is to remove the apk files from system/app folder using root manager while the system is mounted as r/w. After a restart the apps should be gone.
If anything goes wrong then just format the system partition and restore it using recovery.
Hope some of you find this helpfull
BTW: this does not work with viber so done even try or you will get unlimited crashes that wont stop viber from trying to start.

Quick question:
I'm on a MIUI based rom, and my /system/app only has 11Mb free. I'm assuming that I can't increase that without losing some important apps?
Well i have never encountered a rom that has less than 50 mb space there. I assume that you have too many apps there. See if you can clean that folder up a bit by searching for apps that you think arent necessary. Like for example i have a app called adaway.apk. I dont need it nor does the system need it. If u cannot do that then change rom.
Btw more apps that donr work with this: SetCPU, Viber

clear cache and delvik cache - also look for an app that has a large ammount of data and clear its data (doing this will wipe any settings the app has though)
iv installed loads of apps and never run out of room using link2sd

use link2sd to order your apps by data size then you can see
you should have about 30mb free internel storage available at all times to be able to install new apps
right now I have 77 apps available to launch from my launcher and I have 48.8mb free but I could get that higher if I cleaned my cached images of twitter
Use "Quick reboot" in Link2sd
